Since teachers know that not every student has the same learning capacity, they carefully assess each student's potential before beginning lessons. A teacher is an excellent communicator of wisdom , fortune, and light, from whom we can learn much and benefit significantly throughout our lives.

My science teacher is one of my favourite professors. Her name is Mousumi Banerjee. She is the best teacher at the school and well-liked by all of my friends because she teaches very well.I appreciate her in-class teaching methods. She tell us to study the material she will cover in class the following day at home. The teacher explains the subject to the students and solicits any clarifications. The next day, she asked more questions on the same topic. This helps us understand a particular subject in great detail.

After covering two or three topics, she takes a test. She is passionate and enthusiastic about what they do and it shows in the way they teach us. She treats us with friendliness and never permits fear in us. Without hesitation, any student in the class or her cabin may ask her any question about the topic. While instructing the class, the teacher keeps an eye on every student's activity and disciplines the misbehaving ones. If you truly want success in life, she advises us to focus on our studies and always do as our teacher instructs. She never shows bias in the classroom between any of the students.

Her Importance In My Life

Mousumi ma'am has always been an important person in my life. She helped me select every course of action at various times. She gave me immense knowledge, skills, and positive behaviour expectations so I never felt lost. She always disciplined me and helped me throughout my life, even after school. In class 12th, I did a project under her in which she helped me immensely. It was a very successful project, and we won the 1st prize at the annual technical fest. That year she also got voted as the best teacher for that year. I was very happy for her as well. During my course selection for college, she guided me a lot. She helped me understand which course would be the best for me and sometimes helped me with those subjects.

She was always like a blessing in disguise for me.

A Special Moment In My Life

Last year on teacher's day, I, along with my classmates, gave her a surprise visit at her house and gifted her some chocolates as she loved chocolates. We also gave her a diary and a parker pen. She was delighted and almost burst into tears with happiness. We all had a wonderful time and then went for lunch in the nearby restaurant. It was a special moment for me as well as my friends.

We all have had teachers in our lives who have had a genuine impact on how we live. Every student has a unique space designated in their heart for their professors. There is no substitute for a teacher in a student's life. They give of themselves to make our lives successful.

Essay on my Best Teacher (500+ Words)

Here is a 500+ words essay on my best teacher.

Great philosopher Plato says, “A teacher is the physician of mind.” He leads the students from the dark valley of ignorance to the heights of learning and glory.

A scientist works on the physical body of man, but a teacher works on his mind and soul. That is why a wise man says,

A teacher must have the wisdom of Solomon, the patience of job and the courage of David.

Such a person is called an ideal teacher. He is the friend, philosopher, and guide of his students. He takes a personal interest in their studies and helps them at every step inside as well as outside the class. It is a great privilege and honor to be the student of such a teacher.

I have received lessons from a number of Teachers/Professors. All of them are able and efficient. I love and respect all of them. Out of those professors and teachers, I am much charmed by the towering personality of Mr. Shariq Javed. He has a broad forehead, fair complexion, sharp features, dark brown eyes, straw smooth hair and cheerful disposition with a smile on his face.

He is a very polite, urbane, well-dressed, well-mannered, soft-spoken, energetic and studious person.

Qualities of my teacher

He possesses all the sterling qualities of head and heart which make one an ideal teacher. I adore and like him for his good qualities of learning, teaching, patience, forbearance, fortitude, kindness, devotion and dedication.

He is highly qualified in the knowledge of the physical world. Coming of a noble family, he is a thorough gentleman.

He teaches us the subject of Physics. He is an unfathomable ocean and treasure of knowledge and wisdom. His method of teaching is so attractive and easy that we easily grasp and perceive his point. He has full command over his subject.

He analyses every topic and interprets each point thoroughly. He even briefs us the background of the topic and explains it with the help of examples. He has so sweet magical voice and charming way of teaching that the students wish for prolonging of his class.

Besides his particular subject, he also tries to develop our self-respect, build our character and inculcate in us the qualities of a great man. He guides and directs us on how to lead a successful life. He teaches us manners and etiquette.

He is kind and polite and never shows exertion. His sound arguments, lucid explanations, and well-knit thoughts make us listen to him most closely and attentively and hence he does not allow any kind of boredom or dullness to descend upon the class. His witty remarks and short crisp sentences are really magical and delightful. We learn and memorize his crisp sentences as proverbs and quote them whenever and wherever needed. After the completion of his lecture, he advises us to ask him questions whether about the topic in hand or else; and he answers them with a smiling face.

He is also a good sportsman and athlete. He plays badminton. He always advises the students to “play while play and study while study.” He is ever willing to solve our problems. He greets us with love and kindness and resultantly we forget our cares and worries.

In this article, we explore my best teacher and their impact on me. Read on to learn more about how my teacher encouraged me to excel in academics and develop my own unique style of learning.

Introduction

My best teacher was my English teacher in high school. She was the one who taught me how to love learning and to be patient with myself when I didn’t understand something. She made me believe in myself and my abilities, even when I didn’t. She is the reason I am the student I am today.

What Makes My Best Teacher So Special?

There are many qualities that make a great teacher, but the ones that stand out to me are patience, intelligence, and creativity. My best teacher is patient because they understand that every student learns at their own pace and they never give up on us, even when we make mistakes. They possess a vast amount of intelligence because they know how to engage us in learning and make it fun instead of boring. Lastly, my best teacher is creative in their teaching methods which keeps me interested in the subject matter.

I am lucky to have had many great teachers throughout my educational career, but the one who stands out the most is Mrs. Nguyen. She was my seventh grade English teacher and she completely changed the way I thought about learning. Before her, I used to dread going to school and I would always find ways to avoid doing my homework. However, Mrs. Nguyen made learning fun and exciting. She was always coming up with new and innovative ways to teach us the material, and she was always willing to help us if we didn’t understand something. Because of her, I developed a love for learning that has stayed with me until this day.

Why I Appreciate This Teacher

I appreciate this teacher because she is always willing to help her students. She is never too busy to answer a question or help with a problem. She is also very patient and takes the time to make sure her students understand the material. She has a great sense of humor and makes learning fun.

How My Best Teacher Has Impacted My Life

There are many ways in which my best teacher has impacted my life. She has helped me to become the person I am today by instilling in me a love of learning, a strong work ethic, and a respect for others.

My best teacher has always been there for me, even when no one else was. She believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. She pushed me to be better and to reach my full potential. I am forever grateful to her for everything she has done for me.

Because of her, I have developed a love of learning that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I now know that there is nothing more rewarding than using your knowledge to help others. I am also more confident and independent thanks to her guidance.

My best teacher has truly made a lasting impact on my life. I am better person because of her and I will always cherish her friendship and support.

How My Best Teacher Helped Me Learn

One of the most important things that my best teacher taught me was how to learn. She didn’t just teach me the material that I needed to know for tests and exams, but she also taught me how to learn on my own. This was one of the most valuable lessons that I ever learned, and it has served me well throughout my academic career.

My best teacher always encouraged me to ask questions when I didn’t understand something. She would say, “There is no such thing as a dumb question.” This made me feel more comfortable asking questions in class, and it helped me to understand the material better. She also encouraged me to seek out resources outside of class, such as books, websites, and articles, when I wanted to learn more about a topic.

In addition to teaching me how to learn, my best teacher also taught me how to think critically about what I was learning. She challenged me to look at things from different perspectives and consider all sides of an issue. This was extremely helpful in developing my critical thinking skills and preparing me for college-level coursework.

I am grateful for everything that my best teacher taught me. Thanks to her, I learned not only the material that was covered in class, but also how to effectively learn on my own and think critically about what I was learning. These skills have been invaluable in my academic career and will continue to serve me well in the future.

How I Can Implement the Lessons Learned From My Best Teacher in My Life Today

I had the good fortune of having several great teachers during my school years. But if I had to choose one who really made a difference in my life, it would be Mrs. Nguyen. She was my seventh grade English teacher.

What made her so special? For starters, she treated me like an individual. She didn’t try to force me into a mold. Instead, she helped me find my own voice and learn to express myself through writing.

Furthermore, she believed in me. When I struggled with a concept or got a low score on a test, she encouraged me to keep trying. She told me that I had the potential to be a great writer, and she helped me develop the skills I needed to reach that goal.

Finally, Mrs. Nguyen pushed me to be my best. She challenged me to think critically and see things from different perspectives. She also showed me the importance of revision and editing in the writing process.

I am grateful to Mrs. Nguyen for everything she taught me. I strive to implement her lessons in my life every day. By doing so, I hope to make her proud and continue her legacy of making a positive impact in the lives of her students .

To start, I make sure to treat others with respect and kindness. I also try to believe in myself and the people around me. Whenever I feel discouraged or uncertain, I remind myself that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.

Additionally, I devote time to honing my writing skills. Revision and careful editing are essential components of any piece of writing, so I ensure that I take the time needed for them. Finally, I strive to think critically and challenge my own ideas and beliefs. By doing this, I am able to form my own opinions on various topics instead of blindly accepting what others have said before me.

Mrs. Nguyen taught me invaluable lessons that have shaped who I am today as a person and a writer. Her words of encouragement continue to inspire me every day to be the best version of myself while striving for greatness in all aspects of life.

As I recall my best teacher, Mrs. Smith, her dedication to teaching and inspiring me remains unmatched. She pushed me to think critically and apply the knowledge she shared in a meaningful way. Her enthusiasm for learning was contagious, motivating me to strive for excellence in all areas of life. With her guidance and mentorship, I am now able to take advantage of opportunities that otherwise may have been out of reach. Mrs. Smith is undoubtedly one of the most influential figures in my life, and I will always be thankful for having such an amazing teacher.

Descriptive Essay: My Favorite Teacher

My favorite teacher is my history teacher, and he is by far the best teacher that I have ever had. He has the ability to make a subject that many students find incredibly boring come to life through his enthusiasm and passion for history, and his love of being a teacher. Going to his lessons is something we look forward to, not dread, like we do with most other lessons.

It’s ever so funny to watch him get excited about something, which happens in every lesson. It’s easy to know that he’s getting excited because he begins bouncing up and down slightly in a way that no other sixty-something year old would ever managed without looking completely ridiculous. He has this dark (with more and more grey streaks these days), springy hair that lines the edge of his growing bald patch, and the hair bounces up and down with him like thousands of tiny little springs. Then, he takes on his whole new persona, often going into role and becoming the character or figure he is talking about, doing the voices, the actions, and parading up and down the room gesticulating wildly, but all the while there’s a gentle ‘bounce, bounce, bounce’, as though the springs are not just on his head but on the soles of his shoes too.

A teacher that doesn’t take himself too seriously always will be a big hit with teenagers, although he’s not afraid to impose his authority if he has to. I’ve only ever heard him properly shout once (although thankfully it wasn’t it me), but it isn’t an experience that I would like to repeat. When he lost it, the room suddenly became more silent than I’d ever known it to be before. We all sat slightly paralyzed, not even anting to breathe too loudly, because hearing such a jovial and jolly little man lose his temper was a huge shock. It certainly had the right kind of impact though, because he’s never needed to shout since.

It is actually this teacher that I have to thank for my love of history. In his lessons, history does not mean copying out of textbooks and writing pages and pages of notes. History is alive; history is something tangible, that you can see, hear and feel, and we can live it through dressing up and acting out scenes or taking trips to important places of historical interest. And although he’s getting on in years and may not be teaching for much longer, he will have an important place in history for many of his students, because there has never been a teacher able to bring a subject to life in quite the same way he does.

500+ Words Essay on My Favourite Teacher

Teachers play an essential role in our life as an ideal teacher is responsible for the development of the students. Teachers play a vital role in creating a strong foundation of basic knowledge, not only regarding subjects but also for life. It is mostly what we learn at school that helps us throughout our lives when we have to make important decisions and perform other crucial tasks.

Having a particular teacher that you are especially comfortable with can be a massive advantage as it can help you move through your school years in an easier way. A good teacher can also act as a mentor, guiding you all through your life, even apart from just academics.

I am a student of 10th Class of a reputed private school. There are many great teachers in my school but everyone has that one teacher they are especially grateful to. Likewise, my favourite teacher is Mr Manish Khandelwal Sir. Manish Sir teaches us Maths, and he has a really attractive personality. He is very polite and humble and we all the students love him. He is also a person trusted the most by parents and teachers, as he constantly strives in creating a balanced environment in working hard at academics and having fun doing so.

Qualities of My Favorite Teacher

Manish Sir is tall and quite good looking. He is 32 years old and very experienced. His way of teaching is excellent. He believes in simple living and high thinking. All the students love him for his superb way of teaching and humble behaviour. He has an experience of 9 years in education, and he has done masters in Mathematics. He easily solves complicated mathematical equations.

He has a unique way of explaining his methods of solving problems. This way, he makes even the most complex of problems look simple and makes it very easy to understand for all students. He has all favourite teacher qualities in him, and has an exceptional amount of patience, which is one of the reasons why everyone considers him as the best teacher. He explains every question or doubt with so much patience and clarity and makes sure you understand them thoroughly.

He has an excellent command of English and unlike most teachers out there for whom writing impositions, formulas and theorems are important,  he focuses more on logical reasoning rather than memorising complicated equations. He is very disciplined and punctual and ensures that we follow these principles as well. He understands the importance of time and always comes on time. He possesses many of such appreciable qualities which are commendable and highly appreciated by students who want to pursue these qualities as well.

He is very enthusiastic but he is not too pushy and allows us to make the decisions on our own. He perfectly understands the balance between study and extracurricular activities and helps us stay on track with both. He believes in the overall development of the students and thus encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities.

He prepares students for Maths olympiads so that their confidence can be boosted and they excel in a complex subject like Maths. Under his guidance, many students have won prizes in Maths olympiads, and even I have scored the highest marks securing the first position in many Maths competitions. He is an asset to our school as he has played a massive role in improving the overall image of our school including co-curricular and academic aspects and we students are fortunate to have him.

What Makes Him My Favourite Teacher?

Manish Sir is my favourite teacher because he is very humble, kind and polite. I love his way of teaching. He loves all students and doesn't believe in punishing them. He focuses more on conceptual clarity than burdening students with excessive homeworks. He never scolds students and never expresses his concerns in the form of anger. Instead, he talks to the students personally in a calm manner, in a way that helps us improve and wants to put in more effort.

He asks students to be honest with him and always gives equal attention to all the students. He never makes fun of any students and gives extra attention to the weak students. Whenever a student fails to understand any question or equation, he puts extra effort to make him understand, and never tends to lose patience. He calmly explains no matter how many times he has to repeat the same question or statement. He is focused on making us understand every concept with utmost clarity and that is the reason why all students love him.

One of my most favourite qualities of Manish sir is that he keeps track of every student in the class; how they are performing or what are the things they are good at. He constantly keeps an eye out for everyone in the class and helps them to improve themselves and guides them throughout the learning process. He is one of the best teachers in our school who keeps constantly motivating their students and  guiding them in all spheres of life. Manish sir is especially known for not showing even the tiniest amount of favouritism. He treats all his students with an equal amount of fondness and love and cares for every one of us deeply.

He is very experienced and full of life. He tends to keep the entire class on a positive note and never exhibits any behaviour that deteriorates other people. He is concerned about people’s feelings and never hurts anybody. He is very sober and has a great sense of humour. His mathematical knowledge is very vast. Apart from being good at mathematics, he also preaches the importance of having sound knowledge in English and literature.

He loves reading books and always encourages students to spare some time to read novels instead of doing mindless activities like watching tv or playing video games. He also advises us to get more physical activity and play with other people our age and interact more as it would improve communication. He advises students to pursue their hobbies or interests. He understands students' problems and always provides them with a helping hand. He explains everything with examples and makes every concept so interesting to learn for students.

We students love to attend his class because he is very understanding. He covers each topic in detail and gives his full attention in class. He would be the first one to notice if even a single student loses track or starts dozing off. He would just suggest an alternative method or a simpler explanation instead of blaming the student for not paying enough attention to the class. He knows how to draw students' attention in class. He never assigns us too much homework, and after class, he provides us with regular assignments to assess our understanding of a particular topic.

The assignments are often designed to be more informative and research-oriented rather than just making us write down questions or paragraphs from the book and memorise them. By actually going through related articles and books, we gain a greater amount of knowledge and this way, we tend to remember what we learn for a long time as well.

In case if any student fails to do the assignment or performs poorly in a particular chapter, he doesn't shout at them but instead makes them understand the concept again. This way, we students understand that whatever he is doing is for our own benefit and we tend to work harder to improve ourselves. These are a few of the things he does that makes him different from the other teachers and appears approachable to everyone around him. I have never seen a humble and polite teacher like him, and one day I will try to be like him in my career.

Manish Sir is not just a great teacher but also my ideal person. He has all the favourite teacher qualities, and everyone loves him. I am lucky to be his student, and I will always follow his principles in my life. Even after leaving this school, he will remain my favourite teacher, and I will never forget him. essay on your best teacher

When we become older and enter college, teachers become our friends. Some even become our role models. They inspire us to do great things in life. We learn how to be selfless by teachers. Teachers unknowingly also teach very important lessons to a student.

For instance, when a student gets hurt in school, the teacher rushes them to the infirmary for first aid. This makes a student feel secure and that they know a teacher plays the role of a parent in school.

In other words, a teacher does not merely stick to the role of a teacher. They adapt into various roles as and when the need arises. They become our friends when we are sad, they care for us like our parents when we are hurt. Thus, we see how great a teacher impacts a student’s life and shapes it.

Essay on Experience is the Best Teacher

Students are often asked to write an essay on Experience is the Best Teacher in their schools and colleges. And if you’re also looking for the same, we have created 100-word, 250-word, and 500-word essays on the topic.

Let’s take a look…

100 Words Essay on Experience is the Best Teacher

Introduction.

Experience is often described as the best teacher. Unlike formal education, it imparts life lessons that shape our character and influence our decisions.

Learning from Experience

When we experience something, we learn from it directly. This firsthand knowledge is more impactful and long-lasting than theoretical knowledge.

Experience Shapes Us

Our experiences, both good and bad, shape us. They help us grow, develop resilience, and become wiser.

In conclusion, while books can provide knowledge, real-life experiences teach us practical lessons that guide our actions and decisions. Thus, experience truly is the best teacher.

250 Words Essay on Experience is the Best Teacher

The primacy of experience.

Experience is often touted as the best teacher, a maxim that holds profound truth. Unlike theoretical knowledge, experience provides practical insights into the intricacies of life. It is through experience that we truly learn, grow, and evolve.

Experience vs. Formal Education

Formal education provides the foundation for understanding the world. However, it often lacks the real-world context that experience provides. For instance, a business student may understand the principles of management, but until they manage a team, their knowledge remains theoretical. Experience, on the other hand, exposes us to the complexities and nuances of reality, fostering a deeper understanding and honing our decision-making skills.

Experience and Resilience

Experience also cultivates resilience. Every experience, be it positive or negative, presents an opportunity for learning. When we encounter challenges or failures, we learn to adapt, improvise, and overcome. This resilience, born of experience, is a vital life skill that cannot be taught in classrooms.

Experience and Empathy

Furthermore, experience fosters empathy. Experiencing diverse situations and interacting with different people broadens our perspective, helping us understand and appreciate the complexities of human emotions and behaviors.

In conclusion, while formal education equips us with theoretical knowledge, it is experience that truly refines our understanding, builds resilience, and nurtures empathy. It is indeed the best teacher, providing lessons that remain etched in our minds and hearts, shaping our character and guiding our journey through life.

500 Words Essay on Experience is the Best Teacher

Introduction: the value of experience.

Experience is often quoted as the best teacher, a phrase that emphasizes the importance of practical knowledge over theoretical understanding. Theoretical knowledge, derived from textbooks and classroom lectures, provides a foundation, but it is the application of this knowledge in the real world that truly shapes our understanding and growth.

Theoretical Knowledge vs Practical Experience

While theoretical knowledge provides a basic understanding of concepts, it is often limited to the confines of the information presented. On the other hand, practical experience offers a dynamic learning environment where knowledge is applied, tested, and refined. Experience allows us to learn from our mistakes, adapt to different situations, and develop problem-solving skills. It teaches us resilience, perseverance, and the ability to cope with failure.

Experience: A Personalized Teacher

Experience is a personalized teacher, molding its lessons according to our unique circumstances. It provides us with tailor-made lessons that are directly applicable to our lives. Unlike theoretical knowledge, which is often generalized and abstract, experience offers concrete, tangible lessons that resonate on a personal level. It fosters introspection, self-awareness, and personal growth.

Learning from Mistakes

One of the most valuable lessons that experience teaches us is the ability to learn from our mistakes. It is through trial and error that we gain a deeper understanding of our actions and their consequences. This process of making mistakes and learning from them is a critical aspect of personal and professional development. It promotes resilience and the ability to bounce back from failures, traits that are essential for success in any endeavor.

Experience: A Catalyst for Innovation

Experience also fuels innovation. It is through the application of knowledge and the encounter with real-world problems that novel solutions are born. Those who have experienced a problem firsthand are often the ones who come up with the most effective solutions. Hence, experience not only teaches us but also drives progress and innovation.

Conclusion: Embracing Experience as a Teacher

In conclusion, experience is indeed the best teacher. It offers a dynamic, personalized, and practical approach to learning that theoretical knowledge alone cannot provide. It teaches us resilience, fosters innovation, and promotes personal growth. As college students, we should embrace every experience, both positive and negative, as an opportunity to learn and grow. After all, it is through experience that we truly understand the complexities of the world and our place within it.

Introduction:

Teachers are the ones who play a very vital role in shaping our future. From the Pre-Kinder Garden to your Post-Doctoral fellowships, they teach, impart knowledge, share ethical values, and imbibe morality, thereby shaping our personality as a strong one.

My Teacher:

Throughout our lives, we will be having many kith and kins who will hold a special place in our hearts. For me, one such person is my teacher. All of us, for sure, will definitely agree to the fact that the kinship between us and our kinder garden teachers could not be well-defined. I like my nursery teacher, so much. There is something very magical about her. Maybe, she was the first teacher in my life or maybe, she was very sweet in talking to all of us, I am unable to portray why she is always my favourite. I relied on her blindly.

Unforgettable Memories:

I have some cherished memories with my teacher. Whenever I think of those memories, it makes me blissful. On the last day of my nursery school, I started crying at the very thought of leaving her and having a new teacher. I had fallen sick due to crying for hours together. I skipped my food. My parents were not able to do anything. They called for her to make me feel better. My teacher travelled a few miles across the city and reached the hospital. She, then, said that she would never forget any of her students and asked me to write to her. I started writing to her every week from then on and she replied to every letter of mine. Till date, I look at my teacher as my second mother and she guides me in all my difficult situations.

Conclusion:

Having a good teacher who can share an amalgamated relationship with the students is a boon. A good teacher should be a good mentor, a philosopher, a guide, a friend and above all a surrogate parent to the children. I am lucky that I had gotten one in my lifetime.

My favorite subject is English and my most favorite teacher is Chitra Ma’am. She teaches us English. She likes me a lot and appreciates my hard work. She joined our school one year ago. Before that, I was not so good at English. But after attending her classes, we have all become much better at this subject.

I like her for many reasons. First of all, she teaches the lessons in a very interesting way. Even when we have doubts or questions, she never gets upset with us. Her best quality is her loving nature. She would come to school daily without missing a day.

Her dressing sense is nice. She wears simple salwar suits. She always speaks to her students softly and respectfully. I eagerly wait for her class and do my English homework on time. Chitra Ma’am puts a lot of effort in explaining every chapter.

There are many activities given at the end of every lesson and she makes us participate in all of them. Not only that, but she also encourages us to take part in drama and poem competitions. Since her first day, she made a rule for us.

All of us has to speak in English during the English period. Every student tries to talk in English even if the sentence sounds improper. She has taught us to never laugh at each other’s mistakes. This has improved our spoken English in a great way. Now, we are able to talk in English with more confidence.

Another great quality of hers is that she treats every child equally. After explaining the lesson to us, she asks each one of us different questions about the chapter. Sometimes, we also love to talk about our personal lives, like what do we like about our lives, how our parents work hard for us, and things like that.

When we get confused or need an emotional support, she is the best person to talk to. Her advice and suggestions are always positive. Last month, on teacher’s day, all the students wished her and brought presents for her. We also sang a song to her.

I made a beautiful greeting card for her and a red rose with it. She accepted it with a smile and thanked us for everything. I feel grateful to have such a gentle and great teacher in my life who supports me in every way.

In school, you tend to interact with a lot of people who can either impact your life positively or negatively. A teacher is one neutral person who will manage to strike a balance between the positive and the negative. Teachers have a huge responsibility that we students may not understand. All in all our teachers try their best to provide an education, guidance and discipline despite the challenges we might impose on them. The life of a student is entirely dependent on a teacher because most of their time is spent in school rather than with parents that is why teachers play a major role in shaping the lives of young children through school.

Who Is my favourite Teacher?

I have several teachers now that I am in high school but there is only one whom I can relate to as “the teacher” because of the impact he has made in my life. The teacher is male, of Indian origin and has a funny accent when he speaks. He is married and has three children. Actually, one of his children is my age and I know him through tennis practice because he comes to train with us sometimes. I like him because his sense of humor gives a good learning experience for the students. He is a math teacher and he is very good at what he does. Students tend to make fun of him because of his accent but he make fun of it himself, which gets even funnier. This teacher has been a great mentor to me and other student ever since we joined high school. I met him on a personal level one day after class when I needed clarification on a topic I had not quite understood. The teacher was kind to me and guided me through it. Since then, he took his own initiative to do follow-ups on me and I became really good in math due to his efforts.

Coincidentally, he also coaches my tennis team and we meet out on the field. We have won several awards as a tennis team under him. I feel connected to the teacher through his mentorship and he has become like a school parent to me because whenever I have an issue, he is free to help me out.

How the teacher has impacted my life in school .

Mentorship goes along way depending on the approach used. When I first joined high school, I did not have much confidence in myself. This teacher mentored me and made me believe in myself. The good thing is the attention he gives t is students because most of the times, he follows up on the performances and ensures that he does everything he can to help students improve academically. He has also been a role model to me through his way of doing things. He is dedicated to his work and he is an achiever. Through following his footsteps, I have been able to dedicate myself into studies and sports, which has helped me to achieve my goals.

In conclusion, good teachers are hard to find but when you find one, make the most out of them.

The word “teacher” depicts a person that teaches. English dictionary defines teacher as “a person who teaches, especially one employed in a school”. A more recent definition of teacher in the linguistics field is “a tutor that interacts with the learners in order to facilitate good learning”.

Types of Teachers

Old method teachers: the teachers found under this method adopt the rigid mode of impartation of knowledge. They control the class the way a king would rule over his subjects. Old method teachers are less concerned about the welfare of their learners, they are syllabus-oriented.

New method teachers: the tutors under this model are student-oriented. They are more concerned about their learners and their various levels of understanding. They accept and promote contributions in class unlike the old method teachers. New method teachers encourage the inquisitiveness of their students.

Attributes of a Teacher:

A standard teacher has all or most of the various characters imbedded in them:

  • Compassionate
  • Open-minded
  • A good counselor
  • Friendly and most importantly
  • Approachable.

Attributes of My Favorite Teacher:

Personally, I see my teacher as a mini-god because he leaves his mark on me. He influences my life in ways that enables me affect changes wherever I find myself.

He is a perfect example of the new model teachers. Basically, he is student-oriented. In the classroom, he employs the Eclectic mode of teaching (this is the combination of all the modes of teaching “discussion mode, play way mode, role play mode, question mode” so as to facilitate standard learning).

He comes into the classroom; starts the lecture with a recap of what was discussed in the previous class, gives room for the students to ask questions that arose from the last class, answers them and then starts a new topic.

To start a new topic, he starts with a mind-capturing introduction that attracts the attention of all students. Once he is through with introducing the topic, he gauges our reaction in order for him to know if his students are on the same page with him or left behind.

Then, he moves on to the discussion mode of teaching, whereby he throws questions to his students and accommodates both relevant and irrelevant answers, at the end of this model, he sieves through the answers provided, pick the relevant ones and add his own iota to it, he also always applaud the courage of all who answers his questions.

He moves either into the role play method or the play way method, here he selects students to either act out the lessons from the day’s topic or summarizes what he has taught for the day. The use of this particular mode enlightens the students more on the topic being discussed.

Finally, he moves over to the questions and revision mode, where he personally go through all he has taught over the course of the period. During this mode, he entertains questions from students on their personal areas of difficulties. Occasionally, he gives assignments to back up his teachings.

During his teachings, he pays close attention to the expression, mood, sitting posture and carriage of his students. This tells him when his students are lost, sad, worried, hungry, sick, away in dream land or simply tired.

Once he is done processing the information gotten from our faces, he either finds a way of brightening the mood of his students, bringing them back from the dream world, or ending his class without breaking his stride or alerting the whole population of students to what is currently going on.

It is only normal for a human being to reflect his mood whenever he is talking or interacting, but my teacher hardly ever allow his bad, horrible moods interfere with his teachings.

Outside the classroom, my teacher is approachable, fatherly, and jovial. He entertains all and no one is excluded from his open arms, smiles and affections.

He is a good counselor who is always ready to help me out of my tight corners. He gives twenty first century advises in a fatherly way.

Although, due to my teachers lenient ways with students, some students tend to be lazy, disrespectful, stubborn or rude. He has a way of being firm, maintaining class control while teaching.

In conclusion, my teacher has all the attributes and more of a new method teachers. He is capable of combining all modes of teaching, he is compassionate, passionate, and friendly. From my interactions with him, I can confidently say that he is one of the best teachers around.

In this way, in India, we commend teacher’s day consistently on 5 September on the event of the birth Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

My Teachers, My Role Models

During my formative years, I have come across many teachers who have influenced my life for the better. Having being studies in a convent school, I got to face a much-disciplined environment during my school years. The teachers, although were very polite in their behaviour, at the same time ensuring that we all followed a disciplined life. We were taught how to inculcate these values in our daily life so as to be better human beings when we grow up and face the world. Although all the teachers were good, there is one teacher whose teachings I just cannot forget. She is Ms Kirti Bhushan. Her teachings have been so powerful and impactful that I can still feel them during my day to day decisions even today.

My Best Teacher

Ms Kirti was my class educator as well and took participation in the daily activities with us as well. She was a strict instructor anyway extremely amusing and mind in nature. At the same time, she was extremely restrained and dependable. She did her work perfectly with the class at a perfect time without getting late. I liked her, particularly as she attempted simple approaches to show us beneficial things. We made the most of her class. She taught us English subject as well. She even made us giggle by telling heaps of jokes in the middle of when she taught. She likewise managed us exceptionally well amid any school or between school rivalry of the move, sports, scholastic, and so on. She instructed us to share things in class among our associates, for example, lunch or other required things.

Her Background

She was from Varanasi and completed her initial studies there itself. She took her higher education degrees from the Banaras Hindu University. She was extremely friendly and kind in nature. She realized well about how to deal with little youngsters in the class. Her one of a kind style of educating is perhaps what I mostly recall her for. I even meet her at times at whatever point I have to explain some intense inquiries of my day to day issues, she advises me so easily and comfortably. She looks extremely savvy with shimmer eyes and fair hair.

Her Smiling Attitude

She generally smiled when she entered the classroom and first got some information about our prosperity. She additionally helped us in the games at whatever point our games instructor was missing. She had a smiling face even during the strict environment during the examination times. She constantly rebuffed to the students who were with fragmented home works. She was acclaimed for making loads of fun amid the class time and ensure there was a positive ambience all around.

She was an instructor with great aptitudes of educating, well-disposed nature, great comical inclination, understanding and nice. I am proud to be one of her favourite students, as she always said good things about me to other teachers. At times she gave us chocolates on doing great in the class tests and exams. She never gave us heaps of assignments at home. She was exceptionally eager and constantly spurred us for doing our best in the examination.

Teacher’s In Today’s Scenario

Today the general population are changing and their reasoning and advancement thoughts are more against nature. Presently for the world, a teacher is only a teacher. Various offices and departments only tend to remember them on teachers day during various events and usually do not remember them otherwise. Individuals also share few posts via web-based networking media with respect to teachers and after that just forget them. Individuals overlook a bigger number of things that they are gaining from teachers. Schools and students also praise the teacher’s day event and value the endeavours teachers are doing. This is incredible if individuals ought to pursue the exercises of teachers also.

The genuine present for teachers is when students turn into a decent individual, effective in their vocation and business. Not all teacher are great in instructing and comparatively, not all students resemble “Shishya and Guru” particularly in the advanced period. A few teachers are incredible and they are dependable in heart of students all life along.

Students admire teachers for counsel and direction. Students are inspired by scholastic exercises as well as they are intrigued to pursue their life exercises. That is the reason it’s exceedingly essential for teachers to motivate students to pursue great propensities not terrible by their own precedent. An instruction is critical in everybody’s life and assumes different jobs in various phases of life. It’s imperative that individuals understand the significance of teachers and pursue their teachers in the right spirit.

Feature image of Short Essay on My Favourite Teacher

Teachers are the pillars of humanity. They guide us from the darkness of ignorance and lack of knowledge and bring us the light of goodness, care, devotion, and love. A teacher is the best companion who can always show us the right path.

For me, the most outstanding teacher is my parents. They always teach me the right and tell me how wrongdoings can destroy me forever. From my childhood, they have given me happiness and have also taught me that lack of anything should not be criticized. One must try to balance and get the best from the least. They scold me for my own benefit. Their teachings will forever guide me in my future in the best way.

A teacher shows us the right path towards knowledge and pulls us away from the darkness of ignorance and lack of knowledge. As human beings, we always need a teacher to help us mature in our future. Everybody gets a teacher right from their childhood.

Our parents are our greatest teachers. They give us the first knowledge of life. In schools, we receive lots of teachers who teach us academically. They are mostly responsible to give us knowledge about the institutions of the world. I have come across several of them and yet my class teacher is my favourite.

She teaches us Maths, the subject I fear the most. I used to be extremely scared of it because I always failed to solve those tough problems. But my class teacher is so kind to me that she helps me daily to get rid of my fears in Maths. She teaches me the sums in the easiest way and also inspires me to practice more.

She speaks sweetly and is adorable. The best part of my teacher is that she never scolds me when I get a sum incorrect. With lots of patience, she points out the wrong and corrects me. For her, I am confident in solving all the sums in the book. I am grateful to her for the unconditional support she has given me.

From the Vedic ages, the significance of a guru is specified as someone who will guide his disciples towards the light of true knowledge He will teach them both right and wrong and also mentor them to take correct decisions in their lives. A guru is the assimilation of the Trinity, The Brahma, the Vishnu, and the Maheshwar.

He is aware of everything and is capable of leading his disciples from ignorance to complete knowledge of the self and the world. Today the notion of a gurukul has changed and been replaced by well-made classrooms. The teacher today represents the early guru who plays that same task of giving his students the best education and correct knowledge.

For me, being a teacher is one of the greatest blessings on earth. Because God cannot be everywhere, so he has created teachers as their replicas. I myself aspire to be a teacher one day so that I can serve the children with my wisdom and knowledge. Teachers enable their students to rise higher in their lives fearlessly and be confident in their approach. To me, my parents are my greatest teachers. They have given me the best knowledge of my life and have taught me to choose good over bad.

Life is quite vast and my parents help me daily to fight through all odds. They not only just feed me and educate me in a good school, but also teach me the proper manners and behaviour in life. They help me to aspire for a greater and happier life in the future. Several things happen in my life as a young person. I go through several emotions that I cannot myself understand totally.

I easily disclose it to my parents and they show me the way out of the confusion. My parents do not create unnecessary rules over me and stop me from enjoying my life. They always keep faith in me and their teachings make me humble. I can never think of hurting them because that will destroy their goodwill over me. Parents are the first and the foremost teachers in our lives. We learn the earliest knowledge of respect and obedience from them.

In our schools, we come across many subject teachers who give us institutional knowledge. They are important because they give us a picture of the professional world. Yet the first knowledge of the alphabet, and the first speech happens at home. Home is the place from where a good character is born. Hence, for me, my favourite teachers are my parents.

I have written these essays in pretty simple language for a better understanding of all kinds of students. If you still have any confusion regarding the context, let me know through the comment section below. Keep browsing this website for more valuable sessions.

“The Best Teacher I’ve Ever Had”

by Patrick Esty

Ms. Johnson was the name, or at least that’s what I think it was. It was such a long time ago—fourth grade, I think—but I still remember her because she had such a powerful influence on my life. When I started school, I was an average person with just enough enthusiasm as everyone else on the block, but after the fourth grade, I was full of energy. Ms. Johnson want you to succeed and supported you as an individual person to be the best you would be. I remember the very first week of the school year. It is so vivid in my mind.

“You better GET in that chair right away!” she yelled, and I sat down as if I were mounting a horse. She went on and pointed me out with her pencil while taking attendance. “Do you know how to sit BOY! You better GET UP and TRY again!”

After taking attendance, she gave one of the most important speeches I have ever listened to in my life. “Hello, my  name is Ms. Johnson – not ‘Miss,’ not ‘Johnson,’ ‘John,’ ‘teacher,’ or ‘son,’ — Ms. Johnson. You raise your hand when you want to talk and ask me if you want to move, and when i say ‘Jump,’ you better ask me, ‘How high?’” She sure knew how to discipline her pupils, but she had another side to her that was more civilized and controlled. THis side was much stronger than her first.

“… But there’s one thing you all have to learn before the year starts. It’s a thing you were born with, ‘common sense.’ Everybody has it, because if you don’t have it, you weren’t born!”

Then someone in the class asked her why she walked on a crutch. She answered in a low voice. “I broke my left leg trying to stop a fight. That’s what happens when people don’t use their common sense. They injure others as well as themselves.”

I think Ms. Johnson was the most powerful force in Engleberg Elementary School. Everyone who went through the school could tell you bout her. She taught everyone self-control. It is rare if you ever see someone from Engleberg start a fight or be involved in a crime. In fact, if it weren’t for her, many people I know wouldn’t be in school any more. She was not only a good teacher who taught discipline, but she was a great teacher who knew math, reading and writing skills. Being taught by Ms. Johnson is an experience no one forgets.

One day, she got all of the students to enter a writing contest. I, being a lazy person since kindergarten, didn’t do it until the very last day it was due. You should have seen it! I scribbled together some really interesting stuff in those 24-hours, and knowing Ms. Johnson, I thought she wouldn’t like it at all. Boy, was I surprised.

“Patrick,” she said to me in private as I came to school one morning, “that was a  very good essay you wrote.” My mouth hung wide open. “Really!” I said with a  excited voice. “I thought it was terrible.” “No. 1 think you have some talent and I’m going to enter it in the city-level for competition.”

She did. Three months later, a gold medal came into my hands and she congratulated me. “You never know how good you are until you try. You are more than you think you are, Patrick. I want to see you do more…”

When I brought that gold medal home with me that night, my parents were “proud, proud, PROUD!” I could almost cry. I could almost laugh. I could hug Ms. Johnson, the one-legged lady, and only thank her for her tremendous support to raise my ego.

Today, I have received two good citizenship awards, hundreds of class achievements and perfect attendance certificates, and will graduate as class valedictorian in high school. Just think. Without her, I would be just an average guy. She helped me in my life tremendously.

Wanda Raven, Ms. Raven to those of us who are her students, is who I call the “Best Teacher” I’ve ever had. Her teaching style, personality and her desire to help me to succeed are the three qualities that l admire most about her.

Teaching styles vary greatly among teachers of different subjects as well as teachers of different grade levels. I was first introduced to Ms. Raven my sophomore year of high school when I became a student in her biology class. In the beginning she was like any other teacher, same grading scale, same class objectives. Yet after the first couple of days I could tell that she was different. When teaching she did her best to make us understand, not help us understand. If she felt you needed help she would allow time in her schedule to fit you in. being in a school where there is a lot of competition among the students made me seek her out even for the smallest problems. She was always there to help me and make me learn.

When you picture how many people you come in contact with and how many teachers you’ve had, still have and will have in the future you realize how impersonal the relationships are. Ms. Raven’s intent seemed to be that she wanted to get to know each student so she could help with school or personal problems. I happened to stop to talk to her one day and that’s when I discovered what a nice personality she had. She greets me every time I see her and shares a few words. It was that sophomore year that I began having problems that I needed to talk about. I decided to seek some advice and help. Ms. Raven was always around to talk to listen. Her ability to listen is one part of her personality that stands out the most. She always found time to listen and no matter what was said she took it all to heart’, even the smallest, silliest problem. She never repeated what was said. Giving good, sound advice and helping to make me talk things out are two more qualities that I admire. Though most teachers would stop there, she didn’t. When she needed to talk she sought me out and confided a lot in me. Some might take that as a burden, I didn’t. I felt that if she could listen to me then I could do the same. Never have I had a teacher like that.

When the school year ends, I usually have no further contact with my teachers. Ms. Raven came to me again my year of high school and asked if I needed help. I shared a few of my career goals with her and found out that she had a lot of knowledge from past experience about one of my future goals. Whenever I had a question or a doubt about something relating to school or college I could always find her and discuss it with her. Whenever she’d come across an article or literature pertaining to a career she would make sure I received a copy of it. These types of things express a desire to help me succeed and I’m grateful for that.

I’d like to finish by saying that I’ve never before come across a person like Ms. Raven. Her personality outshines those of most teachers. Her desire for my success in life seems only surpassed by my parents, family and the staff of Upward Bound. Her ability to teach and her process of teaching is a great help to me and to others. To me Ms. Raven is the Best Teacher” I’ve ever had.

by Dwight Thomas

During all the years of my education to date, there have been many teachers that have got me to the level of education I’ve reached today. I’m going to tell you about the best teacher I think I will ever have. Mr. Birmingham was the greatest influence on me because the way he taught the class was at a level where everybody could catch the topic of discussion. He would help you out with problems in and out of school. He also would tell you his feelings straight from the heart. Mr. Birmingham’s teachings were in a “class” all by themselves.

When you entered seventh hour history, you knew everything that was going on. “Mr. Birm,” as we would call him, refused to let a person get behind the rest of the class.

He went by the motto, “If the ship is hit, everyone on board goes down.” Mr. Birm would go back to items to help that unfortunate student catch on. If that didn’t work, we would read the chapter over until everyone caught on. Mr. Birm not only cared about studies, but he would be there for you when it was a problem out of school.

If a student ever had a problem and had no one to turn to, you could always turn to room 337. Mr. Birm would be there to discuss even the most delicate problem in a mature and understanding manner. If you needed to borrow money, he would give it to you with absolutely no complaints. I know he’s helped me out a number of times. You may think because he was nice he was a push-over, I doubt it highly.

If there is one thing I remember very well about Mr. Birm, it was that he was never afraid to express his feelings. If he saw something done he didn’t like, he’d tell you. He couldn’t stand for horsing around. I don’t think he ever felt sorry for a student he told off either. This shows me he not only has the utmost respect for the students, but he respected himself. These are the characteristics of a great teacher.

I will remember Mr. Birmingham for the rest of my life, for he has taught me many things. Respect for not only others but myself. To help others as I would want them to help me. He also did a good job of teaching history, too. Mr. Birmingham is definitely my all-time best teacher.

My best teacher was Rizwan, a Chemistry teacher. He was not only knowledgeable in the subject but also passionate about teaching. He made every lesson exciting and engaging, and he was always willing to go the extra mile to help his students understand difficult concepts.

Rizwan was a kind and patient teacher. He never made anyone feel stupid for asking a question, no matter how basic it might seem. He was always willing to explain things differently to ensure that everyone in the class understood.

One of the things that I appreciated most about Rizwan was his ability to make complex ideas easy to understand. He had a knack for breaking down difficult concepts into simple, easy-to-follow steps. This made learning Chemistry much less intimidating and more enjoyable.

Rizwan was also a great motivator. He always encouraged his students to do their best and never to give up, even when things seemed difficult. He believed in us, and his confidence in our abilities helped us to believe in ourselves.

In addition to being an excellent teacher, Rizwan was also a great person. He was always cheerful and friendly, and he had a great sense of humor. He made the classroom a fun and enjoyable place to be, and his positive attitude was infectious.

One of the things that made Rizwan stand out as a teacher was his willingness to go above and beyond for his students. He was always available for extra help outside of class, and he even organized study groups and tutoring sessions to help those who were struggling. He truly cared about his students and wanted to see us succeed.

Rizwan’s passion for teaching extended beyond the classroom as well. He was always looking for new and interesting ways to teach chemistry, and he regularly attended conferences and workshops to stay up-to-date on the latest teaching methods and technologies. He was truly dedicated to his profession, and it showed in the quality of his teaching.

Rizwan was an exceptional teacher who made a lasting impact on me. I will always be grateful for the knowledge and skills that he taught me, as well as the positive attitude and confidence that he instilled in me. I am better for having had him as my teacher, and I will always remember him fondly.

Essays are extremely important for children studying in classes 1, 2, and 3. And often, when at school, they are the closest with their teacher, implying that an essay on the topic ‘My Teacher’ is perfect for such young kids. Experts state that writing improves critical thinking and problem-solving, and skills as words need to be written in a specific structure and order. Also, there is a deep connection between reading and writing. Once children learn to write at a young age, it helps them identify the connection between letter sounds and phonetic sounds.

Did you know that essay writing is a crucial element in most competitive examinations across the globe? This is exactly why the concept of creative writing needs to be taught to a child from the very beginning. Over here, we will discuss how to write a paragraph on their teacher.

You can help your children express their feelings by writing a few lines on their teacher. For early and young learners, such as classes 1, 2 and 3, creative writing is an opportunity to express what they learn and experience. When a child begins to write what they feel, this enables a range of life-long skills. So, do ask your children to write a paragraph about their teacher.

A teacher plays many important and significant roles in our lives such as a guardian, guru, learning instructor, mentor, and guide. A teacher shows us the path to success in different stages of our lives. Young kids have delicate minds, and when they are provided with an opportunity to write on a specific topic, they try to express their views from their hearts. It is a beautiful experience to watch a child express their innocent views in simple and short sentences. With the following tips in mind, you can teach them to write an excellent essay on their teacher:

  • An essay primarily comprises an introduction, body, and conclusion.
  • You can start by introducing your school – the name and location of your school. You can then mention which class you are studying and your favourite teachers.
  • In the body of the essay you can describe your favourite teacher and what are the qualities in them that make them special to you.
  • You can also speak about how your teacher helps, guides, and corrects you.
  • Art the conclusion stage of the essay, you can write about how you would always be thankful to this teacher of yours, and what is that one important life skill you have learnt from them.

Teachers are, undoubtedly, some of the most essential people in a child’s life, and are also the most important people, next to parents, for students. Children begin learning in their elementary schools with the help of teachers. Then a student’s next phase after elementary school is middle school, where teachers guide students through the crucial adolescent changes. Students then mature as young adults during their middle school journey with various life-related questions. High school teachers then guide, support, and impart values to the student’s new life phase questions. The highest level of satisfaction in every teacher is to watch their students grow and achieve success in their respective lives. When asked to write an essay on the topic ‘my teacher’, for classes 1 and 2, you can use the following ten lines. You can even tweak it to use for writing a few lines on the same topic for class 3 –

  • To honour every teacher’s contribution to a student’s life, Teacher’s Day is celebrated annually on September 5th.
  • A teacher helps students learn important values for life.
  • Teachers play a big role in moulding and shaping a student’s life.
  • A student’s accomplishments provide teachers with enormous satisfaction and pride in good education.
  • My teacher never forgets to give us a warm hug before we enter and walk out of our classes every day.
  • She teaches us Science and tells us a lot of interesting facts and stories.
  • Teachers play the role of second parents in imparting life values and helping in our overall development.
  • My teacher is very disciplined and punctual and always comes to class on time.
  • My teacher makes the most effort to make learning fun for us and is always ready to help us whenever we are stuck.
  • In this way, my class teacher is an important figure in my life, like a guide, who inspires us to do well in our studies regularly.

As parents, we may have observed that children tend to listen to their teachers more than their parents. This clearly demonstrates the importance of the teacher’s impact on students. Teachers impart crucial and valuable life lessons to their students. This can be used an example of a short essay on this topic for class 3, or a short paragraph about the favourite teacher:

I study in Delhi Public School and there are a total of thirty teachers in my school. All the teachers in the school are good, but my favourite is Mr. Rishabh Singh. He is polite, well educated, friendly, and an excellent teacher. He considers all the students as his own children and guides us as a friend and mentor. We enjoy his class a lot as he makes us happy too. Thus, I am forever grateful and incredibly proud to have such a great teacher.

Note: This example can even be referred to by students of class 2.

A teacher is a life-changing role model who influences a child’s growth development and inculcates essential everyday values. Schools often require students to write a paragraph on their favourite teacher for class 3, as teachers are the developmental blocks of society. The following can be used as an example of a long essay on my class teacher:

My favourite teacher is someone who imparts essential and valuable lessons, and guides students to always take the right path in life. The best teachers aim to achieve a balance of both positivity and negativity in each student’s life. However, just as a coin, there are two types of teachers- teachers that are understanding, and teachers that are strict. An understanding teacher enhances teaching scenarios. Some teachers always remain in a person’s memory due to the role they have played in a student’s life. One such teacher who will always remain in my memory is Mrs. Smita Bansal, our 2nd standard Art and Crafts teacher. Though she taught Art, Mrs. Smita always helped us out with any problem we faced in school. She was a teacher whom every student went to for any kind of advice. She had the great ability to motivate all students. She was always kind, helpful, and generous. She always treated students like friends, and always had time for them, and understood them. She also told us to never think negatively and always think positively. I am so grateful to have her in my life.

Note: The above example can also be used for a long teacher paragraph for class 3.

The composition about /my class teacher’ will help your child learn to make points before beginning their description. Writing essays will also inculcate emotional and intelligent skills in children. Finally, the essay makes them appreciate their teachers.

In this way, these tips can help children to write a cohesive and beautiful paragraph or essay on their teachers, regardless of whether they are in class 1, 2 or 3. So, you too can use these tips and help your child improve in creative writing, starting with one essay at a time.

Interview with a Special Education Teacher

This essay about the experiences and perspectives of Alex, a seasoned special education teacher, provides an intimate look into the challenges and rewards of teaching children with special needs. Alex emphasizes the importance of understanding and empathy in his field, viewing each child as a unique individual with distinct abilities. He discusses the common misconceptions about special education, focusing on the potential and achievements of his students rather than their limitations. The essay also touches on the emotional investment required in special education, highlighting the profound impact teachers can have on their students’ lives. Alex’s optimism and resilience shine through as he calls for more societal support and resources for special education, underscoring the collective effort needed to create inclusive educational environments.

How it works

Teaching is an art and a science, a profession that demands both heart and skill. But when it comes to special education, these requirements are amplified tenfold. I had the privilege of sitting down with Alex, a seasoned special education teacher, whose stories and insights provide a window into this challenging yet rewarding field.

Alex begins by shedding light on the core of special education: understanding and empathy. Unlike traditional teaching paradigms, special education is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Each child is a unique puzzle, with pieces made of their capabilities, challenges, and personalities.

“It’s like being a detective,” Alex says, “You’re constantly looking for clues on how to reach each child, how to unlock their potential.” This process, while painstaking, is also one of the profession’s greatest rewards.

The conversation then turns to the misconceptions surrounding special education. Many view it as a field filled with limitations, but Alex sees it differently. “It’s not about what they can’t do; it’s about discovering what they can do,” he asserts. This perspective shift is crucial, not just for teachers but for parents and society as well. Celebrating small victories is a big part of Alex’s teaching philosophy. Whether it’s a student learning to tie their shoes or mastering a new word, these moments are monumental, signifying breakthroughs that ripple through their learning journey and beyond.

Challenges, of course, are part of the terrain. Alex speaks candidly about the emotional toll the job can take. “It’s not just a job; it’s a part of you,” he explains. The highs are incredibly high, but the lows can be difficult. There’s a sense of personal investment in each student’s success and setbacks. This emotional rollercoaster, however, is also what makes the job deeply fulfilling. For Alex and many in his field, the emotional connection to their work and students is unparalleled.

What strikes me most about our conversation is Alex’s optimism and resilience. Special education teachers operate in a landscape where resources can be scarce, and recognition is not always forthcoming. Yet, they press on, driven by the belief in their students’ potential and the transformative power of education. “It’s about making a difference, one child at a time,” Alex reflects. And in those moments when a student overcomes a hurdle, no matter how small, it’s a reminder of the profound impact a dedicated teacher can have.

Our interview concludes on a note of hope and a call to action. There’s a need for greater awareness, support, and resources for special education. Society’s understanding and attitudes play a significant role in shaping the educational landscape for children with special needs. As Alex puts it, “It’s a collective effort. We all have a part to play in fostering an inclusive, supportive environment where every child has the chance to succeed.”

This conversation with Alex, brimming with challenges, triumphs, and heartfelt dedication, offers a glimpse into the world of special education. It’s a reminder of the incredible work being done by teachers like him who, day in and day out, change lives with patience, understanding, and an unwavering belief in their students’ potential.

Remember, this piece serves as inspiration and a starting point for further exploration into the field of special education. For more personalized assistance and to ensure your educational efforts meet all standards, consider reaching out to professionals at EduBirdie.

Research Says This Is What It’s Like Teaching in 2024

Teachers share how they feel about work-life balance, stress, salary, and more.

Photo of school hallway showing what it's like to be teaching in 2024

Teaching in 2024 is no joke. Schools today face challenges that no one could have foreseen five years ago, teaching after COVID , challenges to classroom materials , the rise of A.I., student mental health concerns. And, we haven’t even touched on the incredible teacher shortage .

Among it all, a new PEW Research survey finds some interesting trends in how teachers feel about their jobs and what it’s like to teach in 2024. The headline: teachers are stressed, overwhelmed, and pessimistic about education, but also satisfied with their work.

(The PEW Research Center surveyed 2,531 public K-12 teachers in the U.S. in October and November 2023.)

We asked teachers what they thought about the major findings in the survey. Here’s what Pew reported and what 22 teachers from our We Are Teachers HELPLINE Facebook group think about the state of teaching in 2024.

1. Teaching in 2024 is stressful

Ok, that’s not really “news.” But what is interesting is that teachers are less satisfied with their jobs than other workers and, the high percent of teachers who said that teaching today is just too much.

In the PEW survey, 77% of teachers said that teaching is frequently stressful and 68% said teaching is overwhelming.

“Teaching has become more and more stressful. We are expected to be everything for a student, yet not have appropriate boundaries.” —Keri

From a high school teacher with a decade of teaching experience: “This is the first year since the lockdown that I felt more enjoyment than stress. That said, I still experience more stress than I would like because of kids who simply want to challenge you and not learn, bulldozer parents who are made their kids are being held accountable and micromanaging admin who seem to think harping on teachers will…motivate them?” —Ali

“Some days I enjoy it, some days its stressful. Usually the stress comes from admin or parents. The mounting expectations. Sometimes kids’ behaviors.” —Heather

2. Teachers don’t recommend teaching

There’s already a teacher shortage , what will happen if teachers in today’s classrooms aren’t passing the baton?

52% of survey respondents said they would not advise young people to become teachers.

“I would in no way recommend this to anyone…I’m not sure I can make it to retirement.” —Shannon

“Yes, I would recommend teaching and do to those that I feel have the gift. I tell them upfront it is not an easy job.” —Roberta

“My own daughter wants to be a teacher and I am actively trying to change her mind.” —Keri

3. Teachers think education is getting worse

In the survey, and in the Helpline , teachers overwhelmingly thought that education was getting worse. The reasons are varied; in the Pew survey, 60% mentioned the current political climate, 57% mentioned effects from COVID,and 46% mentioned lack of funding and resources.

82% of teachers surveyed said that they think the state of education has gotten worse in the past five years.

From a middle school teacher of 40 years: “The COVID lockdown changed these kids in maturity, and they haven’t caught up…They’ve regressed so much emotionally and there isn’t a plan to address this.” —Craig

“No one is managing kids’ behaviors at home so the behaviors are out of control at school, where there no consequences. They are completely addicted to their phones and constantly distracted.” —Deanna

“Unfortunately, education in the U.S. has escaped the trends in broader society and school is increasingly dangerous for everyone in the building, most specifically black, brown, and LGBTQAI+ children and educators.” —Ashley

“Education itself is about the same. There’s nothing new under the sun, its just how they package it.” —William

“When I started teaching 7th grade 13 years ago, I could give much more rigorous tasks, kids would read directions and write their full names on things, etc. Today I feel like I am teaching to a much lower grade level.” —Beth

“Education in the U.S. hasn’t really changed much in the last hundred years. What has changed is the needs of students attending and parent expectations.” —Tim

“I feel that ‘education’ has improved. However, what’s holding us back are things beyond an educator’s control. Being called groomers or indoctrinators by society. Parents screaming for book bans on stuff they clearly haven’t read. No discipline at home. Devices. State testing.” —Maria

4. Work-life balance is, well, not a thing

While there are efforts to help teachers find work-life balance, it feels elusive to many teachers. And, there was a difference between male and female teachers on this question. Women teachers were more likely to than men to say that work-life balance was difficult (57% of women vs. 43% of men).

54% of teachers said it’s hard to balance work and life. 25% said it was easy.

“Work-life balance? AHAHAHAHA What’s that?” —Ali

“As teachers are finding a better work life balance, and saying no to all the unpaid extra activities, we are being told that we should ‘do it for the kids!’” —Keri

From a high school teacher who shifted to teaching after working in the corporate world. “I am done with work when the last bell rings….love having summers to spend with my husband and grandchildren.”—Debi

5. Work friends make our day

Teaching is about more than students–it’s also about finding camaraderie with peers and mentors. Relationships at school is one area where teachers, generally, had positive things to say.

When it came to aspects of teaching that were satisfying, 71% of teachers were most satisfied with relationships with others at school.

“I work with an amazing team! We eat lunch together every day, bouncing ideas off one another. We group text all weekend and share everything!” —Angela

“I couldn’t do this job without my colleagues. My fellow teachers and I support each other and cover for each other. Need a quick break? We gotcha covered. Need advice? Someone else has walked that way. Sometimes we even encourage each other to take mental health days. Without my colleagues, this job would be overwhelming.” —Linda

An Octopus Took My Camera, and the Images Changed the Way I See the World

A colorful illustrated collage of animals, sea creatures and a person, intertwined.

By Craig Foster

Mr. Foster’s film, “My Octopus Teacher,” won the Academy Award for best documentary feature in 2021. He wrote from Simon’s Town, South Africa.

I was gifted with a new way of seeing the day I got mugged underwater. I had been filming creatures living in the Great African Sea Forest off the coast of South Africa about a year ago when my camera was grabbed straight out of my hands by a young octopus thief. Wrapping her arms around her bounty, she zoomed backward across the ocean floor.

This was not the first time I’d found myself at the mercy of an eight-armed robber. A couple of years earlier, another curious octopus stole the wedding ring off my wife’s finger, never to be recovered. Octopuses love novel shiny things. Peering into their dens, I’ve found earrings, bracelets, spark plugs, sunglasses and a toy car with a revolving cylinder that the octopus spun round and round with its suckers.

As I wondered how to get my camera back without alarming my young friend, something surprising happened. She turned the camera around and began to film my diving partner and me.

The intriguing images she captured — videos of her own arms draped over the camera lens with our bodies in the background — had a profound effect on me. After many years filming octopuses and hundreds of other animals that call the Sea Forest home, for the first time I was seeing the world — and myself — from her perspective.

We must have looked strange to her in our masks and with our underwater flashlights. But in that moment I remembered that despite all our technology, we are not so different from our animal kin. Every breath of air, every drop of water, every bite of food comes from the living planet we share.

Monday is Earth Day, and I am tempted to ask myself how humanity can save our wild planet and undo the devastation we have unleashed upon the natural world. Where I live, in the Cape of Good Hope, I am privileged to be surrounded by nature, but we are grappling with pollution and dwindling numbers of shellfish, fish, raptors and insect species. Worldwide, we are at a tipping point with an estimated 69 percent decline in wildlife populations.

When I consider the vast network of living creatures on earth, it’s clear that “saving the planet” is the wrong goal. Unless earth gets obliterated by an asteroid or experiences some similar catastrophic event, the planet could go on for several billion years. But without the biosphere that makes it possible for us to eat and breathe, humanity could not survive.

The question we should be asking is what caused the precipitous increase in species loss and what can we do to reverse it. To me, it all started when we disconnected from our wild origins. While agricultural and technological revolutions have enabled massive population growth and innovation , they have also instilled the belief that we can control nature, that our planet is an infinite resource to be mined for our advancement, comfort and entertainment.

Today 56 percent of the world population lives in urban areas, a percentage expected to grow to nearly 70 percent by 2050 . That means that more than half of us are cut off from reminders that we are still part of nature and utterly dependent on its health. It’s only when something truly devastating happens, like the recent flooding in Dubai, that we remember that even the greatest human advancements can be brought to a standstill by nature’s power.

I am not calling for us to leave all modern comforts behind, just pleading for us to get to know nature better, rather than try to “save” her.

In the past decade I have taken more than 4,000 dives in the Sea Forest. My encounters with mollusks, sharks and jellyfish there have convinced me that there is much we will lose if we do not value the tremendous abundance of life on earth.

We do this first by protecting biodiversity hot spots and by restoring degraded ecosystems; the enormous regenerative power I see every day in nature is what gives me hope for the future. It also means learning from and supporting Indigenous people who protect 80 percent of the world’s biodiversity and who have, over millenniums, developed many innovative ways to live with the land and sea. One promising example of partnership is a recent grant from the National Science Foundation to support collaboration between Indigenous ecological knowledge and Western science.

Activities that cause long-term destruction of the sea and earth, such as strip mining , deep sea mining and industrial trawling, need to be halted immediately. Farming methods have to change, with greater emphasis on soil recovery and regeneration . We must continue to find alternatives to fossil fuels and push for a worldwide reduction in the production and use of plastics.

But each of us has a role to play, too; it starts with challenging ourselves to reconnect with the wild. So much of our modern world seems designed to tame us: to dull our minds, to separate us from the natural world, to convince us that what will help us survive is more consumption.

Like my octopus friends, we fill our houses with shiny new things. But our piles of stuff are much bigger and the cost of acquisition much greater.

We can break free of this tame conditioning. When we dedicate even just a few minutes per day to observing wild creatures on their own terms, in their own homes, regardless of where we live, we connect with the concept of biodiversity not simply on an intellectual level but also on an emotional level. We see the world differently — and ourselves, too.

How strange it is that one silly primate can see itself as separate from all those it shares this world with. What might happen if we remembered we are a part of this wild world — and let that understanding and humility guide every choice we make?

Craig Foster is a co-founder of the Sea Change Project and the author of the forthcoming “Amphibious Soul: Finding the Wild in a Tame World.” His film “My Octopus Teacher” won the Academy Award for best documentary feature in 2021.

U.S. News & World Report released its latest rankings of the nation’s best high schools and one well-known school from the D.C. region remains part of the list.

Following  controversial changes to its admissions policy in 2021 to boost diversity , Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Virginia remains the top ranked school in the D.C. region and 14th in the nation, slipping from the top 10 . It’s also the 5th ranked STEM school in the nation.

Here are the top three schools in the D.C.-area, according to U.S. News’ ranking:

  • Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Fairfax County
  • School Without Walls in D.C.
  • Benjamin Banneker Academic High School in D.C.

Schools that emphasized graduation rates received higher consideration for the list of best schools, according to LaMont Jones, managing editor of education at U.S. News & World Report. He added that the top schools in the D.C. region also represent some of the best students from underrepresented demographic groups based on race and income.

“They are pretty much firing on all of those cylinders,” Jones said.

The publication’s national rankings evaluate about 18,000 public high schools across the country. It uses multiple metrics that show students with “outstanding outcomes” in state assessments in multiple subjects that will prepare them for college, Jones said.

“Also, students earning qualifying scores on Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exams, those college level exams and also schools where their students graduated at higher proportions,” He said. “That’s also very important.”

The rankings offer a starting point for parents to understand a school’s academic performance, whether it’s a prospective school or a school that their student is already attending.

“This is one tool they can use — as long-term highly respected tool — to look at as a resource to see where they may want to relocate or where they want to live for a really high education for their child,” Jones said.

The District’s top high schools are:

  • School Without Walls High School
  • Benjamin Banneker Academic High School
  • District of Columbia International School
  • McKinley Technology High School

Maryland’s top high schools are:

  • Eastern Technical High School in Baltimore County
  • Walt Whitman High School in Montgomery County
  • Poolesville High School in Montgomery County
  • Thomas Wootton High School in Montgomery County
  • Winston Churchill High School in Montgomery County

Virginia’s top high schools are:

  • Langley High School in Fairfax County
  • Open High School in Richmond
  • Oakton High School in Fairfax County
  • McLean High School in Fairfax County

Want to live near your state's top schools? Prepare to pay $300,000 more for your house.

essay on your best teacher

The high cost of education begins long before kids start college, a new study shows.

When parents look for a home to set down roots, they often seek the best public school districts. Those homes tend to cost more, nearly $300,000 more on average, according to children’s equipment manufacturer Chicco which analyzed Zillow home values with Niche’s rankings of best school districts across the U.S.

The average U.S. home value is $353,748 while the average for the best district in every state is 86% higher at $651,662, the study said .

It’s interesting “how strong the correlation between home values and school ratings is across the country,” said Kyle Beierlein, who works as a research assistant with digital marketing firm GoFish on behalf of Chicco. “The significant increase is found from coast to coast.”

Which states have the highest premiums to live near their top school?

The top five states with the steepest premium to live in their top school district, according to Chicco, are:

  • Texas: You’ll have to pay 486% more to dwell in the Eanes Independent School District in Austin. The average Texas home fetches around $293,824, but homes in the Eanes District on average are $1,721,835.
  • Missouri: Ladue School District in St. Louis commands a 346% increase from the state average of $234,834 – to $1,047,091.
  • Connecticut: Westport School District homes go for about $1,630,823, 332% more than the state average of $377,247.
  • California: Palo Alto Unified School District gets a 308% premium. The state’s overall average home value is $743,435, but buying into that coveted school district might cost you $3,030,407.
  • Ohio: Parents must pay a 198% premium to access the Indian Hill Exempted Village School District in Cincinnati. An average Ohio home is valued at $213,149, but buyers looking to live near the top school district will pay about $635,473.

Which commands a higher premium – elementary or high schools?

Homes near the top-rated elementary schools cost 65% more than a state’s average home, while homes near the top-rated high schools cost about 45% more.

“So, on average, it costs a bit more to live near a given state’s top-rated elementary school than it does its top-rated high school,” Beierlein said.

Elite schools: Here are Florida’s Top 10 elementary & middle schools, ranked by U.S. News & World Report

What states have the highest premiums for their best elementary school?

The states where you pay the biggest premium to live near the best elementary school, the study said, are:

  • Connecticut: To live near the state's premier elementary school in New Canaan, you’ll pay 359% more for your home. The state average hovers around $377,247, but those who want their kids near the best school in the state must prepare to pay closer to $1,352,580.
  • Massachusetts: While homes in the states cost $585,959, on average, that skyrockets to $2,033,172 (the highest in the study) when you get near the top-rated elementary school in Weston. That’s a 247% premium.
  • Tennessee: The average home is valued at around $305,570, but those in Brentwood, near the state’s top elementary school, are 245% higher at $1,054,248.

What states have the steepest premium for their top high school?

The best high schools won’t take you as far from the state’s average home price, but the premium’s still hefty, the study showed. Here are the top three states with the largest premiums:

  • Kansas: For a spot near the state’s top-rated high school in Overland Park, you’ll pay 182% more than the average $213,149 Kansan home, or about $635,473.
  • Delaware: The average home’s valued at $371,811, but those near the top-rated high school in Wilmington are closer to $957,321, a 157% premium.
  • Washington: The average home price is $562,290, but it’s 182% higher, or $740,202, near the state’s best high school in Redmond.

Can I get near a great school anywhere without paying so much?

Yes, there a handful of states where you can pay less than the state’s average home price to get near the state’s best schools.

  • For the best school district: in New Mexico and Maine, you can pay 46% and 44% less, respectively, than the state’s average home and live in the best school district, the study said. In Colorado, you’d pay 29% less.

“In places like Maine and New Mexico, the top-rated school districts are farther away from larger metropolitan areas, which could be one reason why home values are lower there than the state’s average,” Beierlein said.

  • For the best elementary school: North Carolina gives you the biggest discount, 58% less than the average home. Oklahoma and Florida round out the top three at 36% and 28% less.
  • For the best high school: In Maine, you can get away with paying almost 72% less than the average home in that state to live near the state’s best high school, and 54% less in Mississippi. South Carolinians can pay 45% less than the state’s average home price.

“In many states, the best high schools and elementary schools are located within the best school districts, but that isn’t always the case and could be another contributing factor as to why some states actually experience lower home values near their top-rated elementary or high schools,” Beierlein said.
