Applying to graduate.

How do I apply to graduate?

If you've recently completed or are close to completing your course, the Graduations Team will send you an email to your student email account to invite you to graduate online via studentConnect .

To become a graduate of the University and receive your award certificate, you must first apply to graduate by completing the online application form in studentConnect . If you don't apply to graduate within two years of completing your course, your award will be conferred in absentia in accordance with University rules. Once your award is conferred in absentia , you are no longer able to attend a graduation ceremony for that award.

After you apply to graduate, the Graduations Team will send you additional emails with important information about your graduation, so it’s important to check your student email on a regular basis to make sure you don't miss out. For detailed information on applying to graduate, confirming your attendance and other things to expect at your ceremony, visit the UWA Graduation website.

If you completed your course more than 12 months ago and no longer have access to studentConnect, contact the Graduations Team directly via askUWA . We'll send you an Application for Conferral of Award Form.

From 01 January 2023, it is a requirement of the Australian Government for all students who have studied any units in Australia, in person, to have a current Unique Student Identifier (USI) number or an approved exemption. You can record and verify your USI in studentConnect under the Personal Information tab. The University of Western Australia cannot confer any awards without a USI or approved waiver from the Australian Government.

These are the best graduate school programs in Wisconsin, according to U.S. News & World

Top graduate schools in Wisconsin landed on the latest U.S. News & World Report list ranking more than 2,000 programs across the country. U.S. News & World Report published its 2024-'25 report in April, ranking graduate programs in business, education, law and nursing, among other fields.

University of Wisconsin-Madison's the School of Education tied for first overall with Teacher's College, Columbia University, according the report. That's up from third overall and second among public universities last year.

Several of Marquette University's graduate programs moved up on the list, including the master's program in the College of Nursing, which moved up from 66 to 58.

U.S. News released its graduate school rankings. Here's where UT-Austin's programs landed

The University of Texas at Austin is in the news once again for its academic successes, this time with its graduate programs.

U.S. News & World Report partially released its rankings of the best graduate programs at colleges and universities nationwide. U.S. News has yet to release its engineering, medicine and clinical psychology rankings.

Several of UT's graduate programs ranked among the country's best, with the College of Education landing in the top 10.

Three UT-Austin programs claim top rankings

Three of UT's graduate programs ranked first in the country among similar programs, though only one ranking has been updated for 2024-25. The university's accounting program ranked first, alongside its Latin American history and sociology of population programs, neither of which has been revised for the current year, according to a news release from the university .

"These rankings are striking and reflect our ability to continue to attract exceptional faculty and students," Jay Hartzell, UT's president, wrote on Instagram. "Our talent is what puts UT at the leading edge of discovery in AI and robotics, life sciences, population research, and many other disciplines that are at the forefront of solving many of the world’s most pressing problems and bettering society."

Five of the university's graduate schools also landed in the top 10 in their rankings. In total, the university claims 42 graduate schools and programs that have ranked in the top 10 when combined with previous years.

UT will join the Southeastern Conference this summer, and it ranks third among those schools for academics, slightly behind Vanderbilt University at No. 1 and the University of Florida at No. 2, according to U.S. News’ latest 2024 College Rankings .

2024 Graduation Exhibitions

Each year the School proudly celebrates graduating Art and Design students — both undergraduate and graduate — with a series of exhibitions in April, May, and June.

BA in Art Graduation Exhibitions

April 23 – May 31 Jacob Lawrence Gallery

The Jacob Lawrence Gallery and the School of Art + Art History + Design present Departing Figures: BA in Art Exhibitions , featuring the work of the 2024 graduating class in the BA in Art programs: 3D4M: ceramics + glass + sculpture, Interdisciplinary Visual Arts, Painting + Drawing, and Photo/Media. Students work closely with the gallery's curatorial team to present their senior capstones in one of three group shows that run for two weeks at the Jacob Lawrence Gallery.

UW Design Show

The Jacob Lawrence Gallery and the Division of Design present the UW Design Show 2024,  featuring students receiving a Bachelor of Design (BDes) in Industrial Design, Interaction Design, and Visual Communication Design. This year, the Master in Design (MDes) graduates will showcase their thesis work as part of the Design Show. 

MFA Thesis Exhibition

May 30 – June 9 RailSpur Opening Reception: Thursday, May 30, 7:30-9:30pm

The Division of Art presents the cumulative thesis work of the 2024 Master of Fine Art (MFA) graduates: David Braun, Free Bàssïbét, Rachel Dorsey, Amara Eke, Ren Han, Michael Hong, Ali Meyer, and Kevin Phan. Closing reception on June 6 (first Thursday) from 6–9:30pm.
