School Excursion Essay

Excursions are must, especially for students. They have a great educational value That is why schools often organize excursions for students. Apart from educating students and exposing them to various experiences, it is a great time of recreation. It is the day all students wait for eagerly.

My class was taken on an excursion last month. A bus was arranged. We sat in it and it took us to all the places we had to see. We were all very happy. We sang on our way and the bus speeded through various towns and villages. The sound of the horn was a constant irritant but we could tolerate it because we were too busy having a good singing session in the bus.

We were going to Agra from Delhi. The bus stopped on the way at a restaurant. We all got off the bus to have some refreshment. Our teachers had to take good care of us lest anybody got lost. After half an hour we were on our way again Many of my friends started feeling a little sleepy and tired.,

Soon we reached Agra. We formed a line and entered the guest house where our stay had been arranged. We were to see Fatehpur Sikri and the Taj Mahal and leave for Delhi the following day. We left our luggage in the guest house, freshened up and were on our way to see the Taj Mahal.

When I first set my eyes on the Taj Mahal, I was speechless It is rightly called one of the wonders of the world. A white marble dream was before our eyes. Many students began to click cameras. I took a closer look at the work done on the marble Inlay work which is a special feature with the artisans of Agra was visible on the walls of the Taj Mahal.

We sat down over the grass and played some games. All this time we had the beautiful Taj in view. Time and again would look up to glance at it. I could not resist walking around it several times It took me long to thoroughly absorb the beauty of this masterpiece.

We left for Fatehpur Sikri after that, it was a great experience to see the tombs of the ancient Mughal kings and queens. History suddenly came alive. I asked my teacher several questions to satisfy my curiosity about various details.

It was a memorable trip. We drove back home but the return journey was filled with a bit of sadness, It was the end of great two days in my school life.

Class Excursion

The day had arrived! On that awesome day, Mr Dominic Lester accompanied twenty of us on our class excursion to the famous seaside. We chartered an air-conditioned bus. Everybody was in high spirits as we boarded the bus.

On the bus, we sang merry tunes of popular medleys while Lester strummed away on his guitar with some students. Excitement filled our hearts and everyone was in a happy mood. After some time, we finally arrived at the seaside. Bouncing with excitement and enthusiasm, we scrambled out of the bus and rushed for the sand.

A cool breeze brushed past our cheeks, the sound of waves lapping the rocks and birds chirping on the branches of trees could be heard everywhere. We built sandcastles of different shapes and sizes, snapped numerous picturesque views of collected seashells and cute diminutive pebbles that were scattered on the seashore. We thoroughly enjoyed the sunshine.

Of course, the lure of the greenish-blue water made us change into our swimming costumes and we swam to our hearts’ content. We had a whale of time in the crystal-clear sea water. During these exciting hours of fun and joy, we hardly noticed that the day was slipping away. We had to bid farewell to the wonderful place which had provided us with so much fun and pleasure.

During this excursion, we learned about team spirit to set up and clean up the picnic spot. Living in a community is a skill to be learned and upskill too. So going for an outing or an excursion will be a way for us to learn it well.

My school trip essay

School trips leave a great impact in the mind of the student, where he goes without his family, with his friends and colleagues, which allow him to rely on himself and take responsibility and enjoy the activities of the trip.

Each school planning for trips is as a recreational and educational way, supervised by social workers and school supervisors, who planning visits, ticketing, bus booking, etc.

I went on a school trip to (name of the city) of (Governorate name). of (city area in km) and (population number) approximately.

I prepared my small bag and put sandwiches, juice and water for the trip. I went to sleep early to wake up early to be full of energy on the journey.

We rode the bus in front of the school in the early morning and we left our parents and friends who did not come with us.

The bus driver displayed a documentary about the city we were going to visit and the tour supervisor told us about the directions and instructions we should follow and how to act in case of lost. He provided us emergency numbers and asked us to write them in a paper and keep in our pocket.

We arrived at our destination and started visiting the (museum name) which is a large museum featuring many important items that tell us the history of the city.

Then we went to visit the open museum which is an open area with many beautiful items.

Then we went to visit the important landmarks of the city.

The last stop of the trip was to visit the amusement park, a recreational city with lots of games.

The supervisor gave us two hours to enjoy our time, play the games we want and assemble before the door of the amusement park in preparation for riding the bus and back to our city.

We gathered two hours later in front of the amusement park door, the supervisor checked everyone’s presence and then we boarded the bus and returned to our city.

It was a beautiful day we enjoyed it a lot and we saw many of the city’s famous sights.

We learned a lot about its history and the history of its inhabitants.

Finally, we reached our city late at night. Our families were waiting for us.

We thanked the tour supervisor and went to our homes to sleep and prepare for school the next day.

a memorable school trip essay

It’s great to enjoy a little bit away from school and home for rejuvenation and energy, and this is exactly what happened. After working hard and excelling in school, I was able to go out on an unforgettable school trip. Through this trip, I was able to define my goals and benefit greatly from them.

This was an excursion to one of the seminars of the great Steve Jones. Just being in the midst of this huge crowd of scientists, inventors and businessmen made me know what I want to become in the future, and what are my upcoming priorities.

On this journey I was able to find answers to many of my questions and found the inspiration I wanted. Now I want to become in the future an inventor of something useful that benefits humanity and achieve great success for me, whether material or moral, through fame.

It is wonderful to know the importance of technology to society and how we inevitably go to it and the development of all means of services around us. And with just a little bit of clinging to the dream and fighting for it like Steve did, I can certainly succeed too.

simple essay on school trip

I feel very happy to go on a trip to the football stadium. This was a big surprise for us, to be able to watch an important match with friends.

Of course, I watched many matches with my family before, but this time the experience is different because it is with my friends and I was able to express and launch my enthusiasm, without feeling any pressure.

I enjoy this experience so much, and for sure I want to repeat this experience in other activities. Now I can’t wait to go home and tell my brother about this experience, and that in the future he should try going out with his friends on school trips and enjoying this holiday. It gives great psychological comfort and a boost of activity that helps to return to study with full vitality and activity.

essay on school trip to a park

Oh my gosh, I can’t describe the beauty of nature that I enjoyed during my last school trip. There is a very big difference between the constant presence between the big and fast industrial life and the relaxation in the vast gardens and parks that do not contain any noise.

It is great to go through this experience and go to one of the most beautiful parks that contain very beautiful gardening works and organized views of trees and roses.

The wonderful engineering work that I saw in the park is one of the best landscapes that my friends and I enjoyed watching.

And certainly immediately we felt the amount of interest and love from the people responsible for this place, and how they can preserve and show this place this beauty.

Of course I would love to go back on a school trip to the park and enjoy physical games with my friends like we did. This was one of the things I enjoyed in nature. It is great to find large green areas. This helped me relax a lot.

school tour experience essay

I would very much like to write an article about my experience in the last school tour, and point out the things I liked the most.

I find this tour very different from many of our previous tours. Previously, the tour was in only one place, and curiosity and enthusiasm ended before the tour ended.

But certainly this was different when we were able to visit many places in the same tour, such as the museum, the garden and the library. All of these places had a different effect.

We find when visiting the museum and meeting one of the guides working in the museum that he has that interesting and funny way of explaining the holdings. It makes you want to know more about its origin and the civilization it comes from.

But due to the lack of time, this made me even more excited, eager to listen. I am also eager to see another place and enjoy. This made it more beautiful and did not leave any way for boredom.

When visiting the library, I was able to sign one of the famous books and see some of the authors of these books. I always watched this event through movies only. It is great to try this experience and get some interesting and useful books.

But certainly nothing is so wonderful after a long day of listening and paying attention as visiting the park and walking around it to release all that energy.

I cannot describe the beauty of how I felt in the experience of the games and activities that we did inside the park. I can say this was the best school trip experience I’ve ever had.

a school field trip essay in English

One of the great school field trips I enjoyed was this trip, this weekend we were able to go on a school field trip to the zoo.

And there were a lot of interesting animals that wanted to feed and take pictures, many pictures with them. But of course, every field trip cannot pass without new experiences, some of which you will benefit from and others that delight you.

I can’t stop laughing whenever I remembered the monkeys, and how they used to behave, I can’t believe how smart this animal is, and how it can make you happy at any time. And also watching the peacock, what a beauty!, I did not feel the consistency and beauty of the colors, as I saw in this bird.

It was wonderful to learn some information about the habitat of many animals, which made me very eager to read about them, how they live and how important the group is to them, and how to unite among them, such as the blue whale and other collective animals that live in groups and like the wolf as well.

Certainly this field trip was very wonderful and contained a lot of information that I benefited from.

The essence of school trips.

School trips are an integral part of educational life, offering a unique blend of learning and recreation. They provide a platform for students to interact outside the confines of their classrooms, fostering a holistic development that extends beyond academic excellence.

Academic Impact

School trips are not just recreational jaunts; they are tailored to complement the curriculum. Visiting museums, science centers, or historical monuments, students can vividly understand and internalize concepts that may seem abstract in textbooks. This experiential learning aids in the retention of knowledge and cultivates a love for learning.

Social Development

School trips also stimulate social growth. Students interact with peers and teachers in a casual setting, promoting bonding and camaraderie. They learn to respect diversity, adapt to new environments, and develop leadership qualities. These experiences are vital in shaping their social skills and emotional intelligence.

Personal Growth

On school trips, students step out of their comfort zones, facing challenges that require problem-solving and decision-making skills. These experiences foster independence and resilience, which are crucial life skills.

In conclusion, school trips are much more than a break from routine. They are a pedagogical tool that enhances academic learning, social development, and personal growth. 500 Words Essay on School Trip

School trips, also known as educational tours, are a crucial part of the educational curriculum, offering a practical approach to learning that extends beyond the traditional classroom setting. They provide students with a unique opportunity to explore new environments, engage in hands-on learning, and gain exposure to different cultures and lifestyles.

Experiential Learning

One of the primary benefits of school trips is the experiential learning they offer. These trips allow students to interact with the real world, applying the theoretical knowledge they have acquired in the classroom. For instance, a visit to a historical monument brings history lessons to life, while a trip to a science museum can make complex scientific concepts more understandable. Thus, school trips foster a deeper understanding of subjects, making learning more interesting and effective.

Broadening Horizons

School trips also serve to broaden students’ horizons. They expose students to different environments, cultures, and ways of life, thereby promoting a sense of appreciation and understanding for diversity. This exposure can help students develop a more global perspective, encouraging them to think critically about various social, cultural, and environmental issues.

Developing Social Skills

Another significant aspect of school trips is the development of social skills. Students get the chance to interact with their peers outside the formal classroom setting, fostering camaraderie and teamwork. They learn to negotiate, collaborate, and resolve conflicts, skills that are essential for their personal and professional lives.

Boosting Independence

School trips also play a crucial role in fostering independence among students. Away from the comfort of their homes and regular routines, students learn to manage themselves, make decisions, and take responsibility for their actions. This newfound independence can boost their confidence and self-esteem, preparing them for future challenges.

The Challenges of School Trips

While school trips have numerous benefits, they also present certain challenges. Organizing such trips requires meticulous planning and coordination. Ensuring the safety and well-being of all students is paramount, which can be a daunting task for the school authorities. Moreover, the cost of these trips can be a burden for some families, making it crucial for schools to explore cost-effective options.

In conclusion, school trips are an essential part of the educational experience, offering a myriad of benefits. They provide a platform for experiential learning, broaden students’ horizons, develop social skills, and foster independence. Despite the challenges they present, the value they add to a student’s overall development makes them an indispensable part of the educational journey.

Essay on “An Excursion in which you took part” for School, College Students, Long and Short English Essay, Speech for Class 10, Class 12, College and Competitive Exams.

An Excursion in which you took part

Last year I went on an excursion to Thiruvananthapuram and Kanyakumari. In our party there were twenty students and four teachers. We had reserved twenty-four seats in the Kerala Express bound for Thiruvananthapuram.

We boarded the train and occupied the seats allotted to us. We were in high spirits. Everyone looked happy and relaxed. Hardly had we travelled about a hundred kilometers, when a number of passengers entered our coach. Some of them sat forcefully near our seats. For want of seats, some of them stood in the coach. When we told them that the coach was only for those who had reserved their seats, they reviled us. They became vociferous and boisterous and created a pandemonium. We wanted to chuck them out, but we could not. We resigned ourselves to our fate. We were greatly relieved when all of them got off at the next station.

As soon as the train reached Thiruvananthapurarn, we got down and went to the Mascot Hotel. We had already reserved a few rooms there. After food, we went to bed and slept like logs. Sleep, “great nature’s second course,” described by Shakespeare helped us greatly to get rid of our weariness and fatigue.

The next day we woke up and went to see the museum there. We saw a number of birds and animals. The antics of the black chimpanzee attracted us greatly. The tigers and lions in captivity do not have the prowess and vitality of the tigers and lions living in natural habitats. By 2 p.m. we returned to the hotel and had our lunch. Then we spent an hour discussing what we had seen in the museum.

Then our journey to Kanyakumari commenced. It was in a luxury coach belonging to the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation. At 3 p.m. we boarded the coach.

By 6 p.m. we reached Kanyakumari. Soon we went to the hotel and occupied the rooms that had been reserved for us. After keeping our luggage, we went to see the sunset. We saw a red globe sinking into the calm ocean there. Its beauty is ineffable. There is something solemn and even awe inspiring in the splendid beauty of the sky as the Sun sets in the west. Wordsworth felt it when he wrote:

The clouds that gather round the setting sun

Do take a sober colouring from an eye

That bath kept watch o’er man’s mortality.

We returned to the hotel.

At dawn we woke up and went to see the rising sun in all its glory. The refulgent sunlight dazzled the entire atmosphere. The enthralling sunrise reminded me of the Englishman in Henry New bolt’s poem He fell among thieves. The Englishman requested his enemies that he should be killed only after dawn since he wanted to see the rising sun in all its glory. The Englishman considered the Sun as the symbol and manifestation of god. We agree with him. It is the Sun that sustains all life on Earth.

At 4 p.m. on the next day, we went to see the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. The beautiful engravings on it captivated us. The ‘harmony and peace’ characteristic of every religion, mentioned by Swami Vivekananda in his address at the final session in Chicago (27th September 1893), seemed to prevail in the atmosphere there. We sat there in silence and thought of the contribution made by him to interpret the religious heritage of India to the outside world.

Our return journey home was pleasant.

Importance of Educational Excursion for Students

L K Monu Borkala

  • What are educational excursions?
  • Significance and importance of excursions for students

Educational excursions or tours are short trips by students, under the supervision of the school management. Students are taken to a place away from their usual routine environment.

The main aim of education is to impart knowledge. Imparting knowledge through a hands-on experience is one of the ways of making learning more interesting.

There are different methods through which schools and colleges try to deliver academic concepts. One of the most effective methods is by conducting educational tours.

Schools nowadays have made educational tours a part of their curriculum thereby making studying fascinating and engrossing.

The importance of educational excursions in schools is manifold. Here we have jotted down a comprehensive list of the benefits of school excursions. Though the list is not exhaustive, the key advantages are listed below.

Importance of Excursions for Students

1. practical knowledge is better than bookish knowledge.

According to a research article conducted and published in the US National Library of Medicine , National Institutes of Health, about 65% of students prefer visual learning aids.

These learners prefer to see how to do things rather than just talk about them. They prefer to watch demonstrations rather than sit through a lecture.

True to the famous phrase ‘seeing is believing’, your perspective changes when you see something in person.

For example, learning about a historical monument by actually visiting the site gives you a better insight than reading about it through text.

Educational excursions help students to grasp concepts through visual learning.

2. Stress Buster

stress written on board

Students are confined to the four walls of a classroom for most of their day. The drudgery and the monotony of the four walls can lead to a stressful learning experience .

However, educational trips organised by schools serve as a miracle stress buster. The very announcement of a school excursion gets students excited and enlivened.

Educational trips relax students who are otherwise anxious in a competitive classroom environment. It serves as a break from the normal routine of a usual day in school.

3. Builds Corporate Attitude

Educational tours build corporate attitudes amongst the students. Students taken on tours to corporate offices and industries will be exposed to the current employees in the sector.

This kind of exposure introduces them to the actions, conduct and practices of the employees.

Usually, these practices are formal and official which is a stark contrast to the informal behaviour and mannerisms of a college student.

Being exposed to the corporate attitude can give students an insight into the corporate attitude which they may have to adopt in the future.

4. Interactive Sessions

One of the main benefits of school excursions is the interactive sessions during these trips. Such field trips allow students to freely interact with friends, teachers, and others.

Educational excursions usually involve the interaction of a third person who is not a teacher or not part of the school management. This gives students a bit of liberty to interact with these new contacts.

For example, a trip to a science centre or a museum involves the interaction of students with the curator or guide of the museum.

5. Discipline

Teachers often expect the students to be on their best behaviour when on a field trip. Students follow these instructions well, as they are aware that their behaviour will reflect on their school.

So educational trips indirectly teach students discipline and control.

6. Added Information

Visiting a site often results in the transfer of new information. At times, certain data is not included in a textbook. Such omitted data can be directly gained from the excursion venue.

Further, experts can add more valuable and practical information to students during live interactive sessions.

For example, a doctor or hospital manager can explain a concept missing from the textbook during an educational trip to the local hospital.

A sales representative can elucidate details on sales invoices during an educational excursion to the supermarket.

It helps to get more exposure to any topic. Apart from textbook information, educational tours can add more exposure to any subject. It dives deeper into the topic than what is taught inside the classrooms.

7. Academic Augmentation

One of the importance of Educational excursions is the boost it gives to concepts learned in the classroom. A teacher can reinforce basic concepts by arranging an excursion to the topic related site.

For example, management students learning about human resources and employee management can be taken on an excursion to a factory or a company.

This gives students an enhanced learning experience on how resources are managed in factories and companies.

This also improves academic performance of students. A student exposed to educational tours has more practical knowledge .

Being able to transfer this practical knowledge on to paper during examinations can give you a better chance of scoring higher grades.

Students not exposed to excursions and educational tours will have only bookish knowledge and may just simply try to reproduce what the text book claims.

8. Opportunity

Educational excursions organised by schools allow students to travel to these new sites. It also provides the less fortunate students an opportunity to travel to these places without incurring much expenses.

9. Knowledge Organisation Is Better in A Naturalistic Learning Experience

Research conducted and published in the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology concluded that the organization of knowledge is crucially important for many cognitive processes.

The current study investigated whether naturalistic learning experiences can drive rapid measurable changes in children.

An investigation on the effects of a week-long zoo summer camp (compared with a control school-based camp) on the degree to which 4- to 9-year-old children’s knowledge about animals was organized.

These findings provide novel evidence that naturalistic experiences can drive rapid changes in knowledge organization.

10. More Memory Power Through Hands-On Experiences

Seeing, touching, and live experience of an academic concept enhances memory power.

According to the findings published in Psychological Science , a journal of the Association of Psychological Science, exploring objects through touch can generate detailed, durable memories for those objects.

11. Better Perspective

Travelling often involves new situations, new people, and new adventures. Some educational excursions are organised to a different state or country.

Such excursions introduce students to a whole new world. A world they might not have seen or encountered.

Therefore, field trips enhance students’ outlook and help them to gain a fresh perspective of the world around them.

12. Educational Excursions Make Students Curious

Report Writing on Educational Tour

Educational Tour From School

By Ashlyn Tony

February 23, 2018; Karnataka: A bright morning, our tutor came in and announced we are going for a field trip. We were excited but most of us didn’t know what was a field trip and what was the motive behind it. We packed ourselves and led ourselves to our school bus.

During the ride, our tutor explained to us what a field trip was and why it was conducted. We went to a zoological park. It was a different experience from classroom learning. We students grasped the concept much faster. The method of learning through experience was different. We could learn things outside textbooks.

This is done so that students can look into a particular topic from all possible perspectives enabling them to learn everything. It has also been proved that field trips are an excellent way for incorporating knowledge into young minds. This also helps students to learn and understand topics on their own without further explanations.

They help indirect learning and help students in finding things by themselves which is better than spoon-feeding information. This experience helps students to retain in their memories what they have learnt for a much longer period.

Field Trip To A Butterfly Garden

By Rachel Harris

January 1, 2019; New Delhi: A field trip to a nearby butterfly garden was arranged for the kindergarten students. They were all excited about the idea of visiting a butterfly garden. We took the school bus to the garden. The students were so excited to see different types of butterflies.

Students observed different varieties and their teachers helped them understand the different features. They studied the different stages of growth. They saw a huge variety of butterflies. The students were so excited. By the end, students started recognising the different varieties of butterflies. They learnt all they could about Butterflies.

Also, they used this experience for instilling in students the importance of nature. They understood that the reason behind why they could not see butterflies like before is because of the disturbances humans create in the environment.

They were also taught the importance of trees in nature. They pledged that they would not hurt mother nature and will prevent unnecessary cutting of trees. Thus, the field trip was successful.

College Field Trip

By Saira Rajput

March 2, 2016; Bombay: We students were looking forward to the field trips. We were eagerly waiting for the days to come. We had pre-planned everything. Every single detail was planned and everything was set. We were visiting places with magnificent architectural designs.

The different varieties of ideas used made us think about the brilliance of the architecture. The designs, mural paintings, the statues, and the engraving on the walls. For some of us, this was the first experience. We learned about things that one should think about before planning and executing architectural designs.

This trip also taught us about the importance of precision in planning a design. One should be able to foresee everything before starting the actual construction. The quality of the materials, the materials used and also how much is the design applicable in a particular place.

Since some materials cannot be used in some climatic conditions, one should take utmost care in selecting materials for the construction. The trip made us realise our potential and also the importance of planning and precision in our field.

Field Trip To A Cow Farm

 By Mark Anthony

September 5, 2015; Gujarat: This field trip was planned so as to make students understand how a farm works. On reaching the farm, students saw a large number of cows, of different varieties. One could see the huge machines used for milking the cows. The farm had a large number of workers. There was a veterinarian for weekly checkups.

There were employees cleaning the farms. There were separate employees for each pair of cows. Cows at this farm were given high-protein foods. The sheds were cleaned regularly to control diseases that might affect the cows. One could see the care given to the cows by looking at them. After the milking process, they are sent to a nearby plant for pasteurization and packaging.

There are special sheds for pregnant cows so as to give them special care. The calves are very well taken care of. The students could understand the importance of cleanliness and regular checkups. This experience made the students realise something new and made them learn new things.

  • Essay topic: A class excursion

21.6.09 at 6/21/2009 09:53:00 AM Labels: { School }

It was a bright Saturday morning. The school holidays had just begun and my form teacher, Mrs. Zhang, had promised to bring the whole class on an excursion to the Botanic Garden.A bus was chartered to take us there. We assembled at school punctually and Mrs. Zhang did a head count before we boarded the bus. It was a long way to Botanic Garden and we sang songs merrily on the way.Soon, we reached our destination. It was a beautiful place. We made a short tour round the garden and snapped some pictures of the whole class. We then found a spacious piece of grassland and played some games there. Even Mrs. Zhang joined in the fun. When it was one o’clock, we unpacked the food we brought and tucked into the noodles, sandwiches, fruits and barley drink. In the afternoon, we went to listen to a choral performance by the National Junior College choir at the garden. They sang very well. All too soon, it was time to leave. However, we cheered when Mrs. Zhang promised to bring us on another excursion during the December holidays.

Essay on “An Excursion” Complete Essay for Class 10, Class 12 and Graduation and other classes.

An Excursion

It has Saturday. It has been drizzling since early morning. The weather was very fine. The students of class IX requested the Principal to declare it a fine day. The Principal was kind enough to agreed to the request. The class teacher chalked out an interesting programmed of an outing at Okhla. Everybody was in high spirits.

Many students had their own bicycles. Those who had none were interested in catching the bust from the railway station. The treasurer of the class fund was asked to take fifty rupees out of the fund and hand it over to four members of an advance for preparation of tea. We were to reach Okhla by 8:30 a.m.

Most of us were soon on way to Okhla. It was a very pleasant journey. The Mathura Road was excellent. There was little traffic. A cool morning breeze was blowing. There was a carpet of green grass all along the road. Trees and plants stood here and there smiling. Cattle were grazing in fields. Nature was at its best in freshness and beauty.

Soon we reached Okhla. We placed out bicycles under a shady tree by the canal bank and united our packages. Carpets and curries were spread on the green grass. We lay down for a little at the end of the months to shake off the fatigue. A few of us who had comitia Okhla for the first time went out sight weeding. We returned to within half an hour and found that most of our friends had also arrived. As everybody was feeling hungry, breakfast was serving. It coasted of lasts, biscuits and tad. We felt refreshed.

It was getting warmer now. The sun was peeping through the clouds. So we decided to take a bath. We divide and swam in the water. Some of the  joys just took their bath with the help of a jug. Because they were afraid of going into water. A few others boated up the down the stream. Some of us watched fishermen busy with their nets and fishing rods.

At about twelve, we returned to the canal bank and partook of sweets and fruit. We then sat in a circle. At first followed self introduction, likes and dislikes. ‘Our teacher dislike was an examiner who, after quarreling with his wife deducted the marks of boys. Mohan entertained us with two sweet songs. Ram Niwas played not violin many popular film tunes. We were greatly amused at the stories of Pram and the tit bits of Jugal. But the best item was a piece of mono acting wonderfully done by Jamini.

It was now four. The sky was again overcast with clouds. A few boys lighted fire and prepared tea. Others just gossiped or played carom. After tea was packed up our things on the back of our bicycle and started back. We reached home at 7 p.m. The picnic was a grand success.

There are several benefits of visiting a zoo. A zoo is a place set to bring human beings closer to the wildlife. It is necessary for kids to feel the requirement of wildlife and enjoy the gift of nature. Many people think zoos are only for kids, but they are wrong, as the adults too find it interesting to look at the animals and birds and how they behave.

If your kid has got an assignment on a visit to zoo essay for classes 1 & 2, tell them your experience of the same. However, to get a proper essay, here are the 10 lines on a visit to the zoo for you.

  • I visited the zoo with my family members during the summer vacation.
  • We all went to the National Zoological Park in Delhi.
  • It was my first time in a zoo, and I learned that a zoo is a place full of different birds, animals, and species.
  • We saw animals like elephants, bears, deer, and birds like peacocks, hornbills, etc.
  • We came to know about the houses they live in. We saw a lion hiding inside its den, birds sitting on the nest, and a bear roaming around the field.
  • Proper monitoring of animal foods and health is done here.
  • Animals and birds stay in safe places with proper shelter.
  • My parents pointed out all the herbivorous, carnivorous, and omnivorous animals to us.
  • We now believe that a zoo is a place to protect animals.
  • We had a great time at the zoo.

The zoo is a fascinating topic to write about. Here is a paragraph for children that describes all about the zoo.

A zoo is a place full of unique creatures living in one area away from the forest. Last year, my family planned a visit to the zoo. When we got there, we found different animals and birds living their lives in peaceful surroundings with regular food and proper shelter. We learned about the shelters of the animals and what they eat. We also saw various birds and reptiles swinging and roaming in a specific place. We had a delightful day, and we left the zoo in the evening.

Kids in the junior classes will be asked to write a short paragraph on this topic. Here is an example for your reference.

My school planned a visit to the zoo last Sunday. I was very excited to explore nature and wildlife. I found various animals, reptiles, mammals, fishes, and birds when I got there. I saw how long the giraffes were and how big the elephants seemed to be. I had never experienced this before. It was my best trip to the zoo ever. I saw monkeys eating bananas and deer running so fast in the field. I learned that crocodiles stay in one place for a long time, searching for their prey. I heard the soothing voices of birds. This was my best experience, and I want to revisit this amazing place.

If you want to write an essay for class 3 on zoos, the below-written essay can help you frame the same.

My school was planning a trip to take us to the zoo. They asked my parent’s permission, and fortunately, they agreed. Everything was organised, and the trip was scheduled for next Sunday morning. The day arrived very soon, and I boarded my school bus, which came to pick me up for the trip. It was a bright Sunday morning, and with a cheerful smile, I continued my day. Teachers already explained to us about the zoo. And this made me more excited.

Finally, around 9 a.m., we arrived at the zoo. When we entered inside, we saw the deer running in their field. Moving forward, we saw giraffes, tigers, lions, leopards, bears, different kinds of horses, etc. We then went to the birds’ section. All types of birds were there. All of them were singing and dancing in the trees. We also saw monkeys and baboons hanging on the giant trees. In the end section of the zoo, we found a small pond full of fish. There was also a museum for aquatic animals, such as dolphins and starfish.

Coming our way back to the exit, we saw snakes and cobras swinging in their specific area. The entire zoo was decorated with flowers and was full of greenery everywhere. It was a beautiful view to watch. Around 6 p.m., we reached home safely with a heart and mind full of happy memories. Hence, the trip to the zoo was my best experience, as I learned a lot of things about animals and birds.

A zoo is undoubtedly a place of wonder and has its own advantages and disadvantages. The zoo not only teaches you about different kinds of creatures, but it also helps you realise the importance of wildlife. It gives you lovely memories that can be incorporated into a composition on a visit to a zoo.

  • A zoo requires proper maintenance and cleanliness for the well-being of the creatures there.
  • It attracts many tourists to see the wildlife heritage of one’s country.
  • The word ‘zoo’ is derived from the Greek word ‘zoion’. It is an abbreviation of zoological gardens, specifically applied to the Regent’s Park, London, in the mid 19’s.
  • It protects various endangered animals.
  • It proves to be one of the economic resources for the country.
  • A zoo is not a natural habitat for animals, even if they are born there.
  • Zoo animals are often trained to entertain viewers.
  • Many zoos allow you to adopt animals. You can pay to feed them for a certain period of time.

Our Mom Is 75. We’re Moving Heaven and Earth for This Eclipse.

A drawing of women in solar-eclipse sunglasses, staring at the sky.

By Kathleen Lenihan and Maureen Lenihan Rust

Ms. Lenihan is a former high school history teacher and an elected member of the School Committee in Lexington, Mass. Ms. Rust is a senior manager for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

If all goes according to plan, on Monday, our 75-year-old mother, Nancy, will be settled into a lawn chair in Waco, Texas — some 1,300 miles from her recliner in Las Vegas — and joining a great many other Americans as they put on solar eclipse glasses, tilt their heads up and try to make sense of what’s happening in the heavens.

None of this was a given. Fiercely independent and more than a little skeptical of hype, fads and feverish mass events, our mother is not what you’d call a joiner. Like many of her generation, she has seen a lot in life; she knows what it’s like to have high expectations and be let down. But she also knows the coming eclipse is neither trend nor fad. Planning to see it has united our family in a desire to participate in a mass event that is a wonder of the world.

Part of the drive to take our mother to Waco is the hard truth of time. Partial eclipses come and go, but the next awe-inspiring and captivating total eclipse will not be seen again in the contiguous United States until 2044. Our mother is in variable health and disabled. Absent good luck and medical advancements, odds are heavily stacked against her living to see another one.

Retirement for our mom came with familiar features — more time for her hobbies, rooting for her favorite teams and vacations that cater to disabled individuals. But this planned excursion is different. A cruise can bill itself as a “once-in-a-lifetime adventure” and then offer many dates on the calendar for the same adventure. No matter how many exhilarating experiences a person has collected in 75 years, this one will stand apart.

Her body may be broken, but our mother is still the experience-seeker she has always been. She left home at 18 for a college a thousand miles away, traveled alone to the Middle East and never met a boat, big or small, she didn’t love.

These days, our mom can barely walk. She moves around via a scooter. Her back is so damaged from osteoporosis and an unsuccessful surgery that she cannot sleep, stand or sit without pain. Still, she remains the same stubborn and determined person she has always been. Years ago, this meant going to law school at the age of 40, traveling the world as a divorced single woman and starting her own business just shy of her 50th birthday. Now it means bristling when we mentioned that we are coming from our homes in Massachusetts and California to “take” her to see the eclipse.

“I decided I was going, so I am going,” she told us. “Compliant” and “rule-following” are words not generally used to describe our mom. It wasn’t true when she was a girl at Catholic school, and it certainly isn’t true now with her adult children.

As for us, we don’t always feel like dutiful children. Sure, we send flowers for Mother’s Day and her birthday. We try to speak at least weekly with our mother, but we also frequently end up in yelling matches over politics. In those moments, we tell her she has lost her mind, and she wonders aloud where she went wrong in raising us. Although we visit every Thanksgiving and Christmas, we have never vacationed together as adults. The daily demands of work and our own children long ago got in the way, and those yelling matches are wearying. It’s easy to end a phone call. It’s much harder to stop an uncomfortable conversation at the dinner table.

Despite all that, we have spent more than a year making the arrangements to escort her to this phenomenon of nature. Flights, rental cars and a wheelchair-friendly rental house have been booked since last spring. Most important, we identified an eclipse event at Baylor University in Waco that could handle my mom’s needs while giving us the best chance to view the eclipse under clear skies. We asked the organizers so many questions about walkways, bathrooms, seating and parking that a representative replied via email, “I can see you are putting a lot of thought into making this happen for your mom.” It is a lot of planning, but then my mom (and dad) did the same for four children. Our childhood was filled with trips to see the birthplaces of presidents, Thomas Edison’s workshop, Civil War battlefields, the U.S. Mint and more. Now, like many people in their 40s and 50s, we’ve reversed our roles.

Our mother stayed home when two of her children viewed the solar eclipse in 2017 in Jackson Hole, Wyo. They came back with tales of an event so transformational, she knew she wanted to witness the next one for herself.

People who have never seen a total eclipse are often befuddled by all the hoopla. They most likely recall a partial solar eclipse from childhood — a vague memory of seeing a strange, shadowy impression of the sun through cheap paper sunglasses. But a total solar eclipse is a singularly spectacular phenomenon. The sky darkens, the temperatures drop, and birds fall silent. Viewers can stare directly in the direction of the sun without any eye protection for the minutes of “totality,” when the moon completely covers the sun. Indeed, the only time a human being can see the entire daytime sky is during a total solar eclipse. As Dr. David Grinspoon, now senior scientist for Astrobiology Strategy at NASA, explained to a reporter in 2017, “It’s like the veil comes off the heavens for a minute.” A total eclipse is so outside the realm of normal human experience that in the minutes of totality in 2017, we shouted out in delight and spontaneously hugged each other. Many of us that day had not fully understood that the universe could put on such a wondrous display.

Knowing all that, our mother is saving her strength. She booked a business class flight to Texas to ease her pain, and she is sitting out most of Waco’s pre-eclipse weekend festivities. She will skip the planned science talks. Instead, she will rest for most of the morning and plan to arrive on Baylor’s campus just in time to see the start of the eclipse.

We inherited the desire to explore our world from our mother. The need to care for her now is just as deeply woven into our psyche. Over the past year of planning, the eclipse became less about science for us and more about ensuring that our mother finally has this experience of a lifetime.

Kathleen Lenihan, the eldest of Nancy’s four children, is an elected member of the Lexington, Mass., School Committee. Maureen Lenihan Rust, the second of Nancy’s four children, is a senior manager for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
