Can you describe your dream house?

My name is Ania. I live in Kaniv in a five-bedroom detached house with my family. But all people dream about their own well equipped house with all conveniences. I also have such a dream.

I often imagine my future house in my dream., first of all, the house of my dream should be modern, comfortable and cozy., secondly, i would like to live in my own house in a kyiv suburb. adding to this, i hope that there will be a forest and a lake with a lot of fish nearby. besides, in front of the house i want to have a green lawn with amazing flowers and a big fruit orchard behind the house., in my house there will be a living room, a study, four bedrooms, a modern fitted kitchen, a bathroom, a toilet and closets. there will be all modern conveniences: running cold and warm water, electricity, gas, individual heating and a telephone., the bedrooms in my house will be the most comfortable rooms. there will be beds, chairs, wardrobes, mirrors, chest-of-drawers and tables there., in the living room there will be a leather sofa, a glass coffee table, an antique bookcase and a fireplace., in the kitchen there will be cabinets, a table, some stools, a cupboard, a sink with water taps. there will also be a fridge, a freezer, a gas cooker, an electric oven, a microwave oven and a dish washer., to sum up, i would say that i fully agree with an excellent proverb «there is no place like home»., my dream house will be a place of joy, comfort and beauty. right now it exists only in my dreams. but i hope my dream will come true..

My Dream Home: Personal View

Most people need a place where they can relax, feel safe and comfortable. A place, where they want to go after a hard day at work or an intense day with their friends. Most people call such place home. Although it is not easy to build or make a house or an apartment a good place to live in, I want my dream house to be a great place with both simple and exquisite features.

To begin with, my dream home must have both nice interior and exterior. The exterior has to contain a swimming pool and a huge lawn. I can swim in the swimming pool in summer and call my friends to come over and have a picnic on the lawn.

Besides, the house itself has to be big in size with a garage where I can keep my car. It should contain two floors including an attic. I also want it to have a spacious porch and huge French windows. The attic is important because I want to keep my telescope there and watch the Moon and stars from it. This little observatory will inspire me to dream about galaxies far away before I would go to sleep.

Moreover, the ground floor should have a kitchen, a living room, a dining room, a gym, and a bathroom. The kitchen must contain all the cooking appliances and be a good place to stay, even if you do not cook anything. A living room has to have squishy furniture, a big bookcase with lots of books in it, a fireplace, and a huge TV. I cannot help imagining myself sitting in this room in winter next to the fireplace and reading a captivating novel or watching an atmospheric movie. The dining room is supposed to be bright with a light-colored wall, big windows, and many paintings of nature on the walls. The gym is an essential part as well. There I can work out whenever I want to keep fit. A bathroom would feature a bathtub and a shower cabin – nothing unusual.

In addition, the first floor will have a few large bedrooms, a trophy room, and a bathroom. The bedroom has to contain a large, comfortable bed, a sleeping table with a lamp on it, in case I would want to read something at night, and a soft Persian carpet on the floor. It should have a TV opposite the bed, and a balcony. It would be so nice to wake up, go to the balcony and breathe some fresh air in the morning. A trophy room would be the most special room. There I would keep all my sentimental things starting from family photos and ending with sports awards. Things like postcards from my friends or some of my birthday presents will be kept in that room. It would be nice to come to that room and think of all the pleasant moments that happened to me. I can also bring my friends so I can share those moments with them as well.

Of course, I have not forgotten about the basement where the laundry room and the stock room would be located. The stock room would be huge and contain food supplies. The things that I do not need at that moment, but still want to keep would also be there.

To conclude, I would like to state that it does not really matter what your house look like unless it feels like home.

Donald J. Trump has gone to great lengths to distance himself from Project 2025, a set of conservative policy proposals for a future Republican administration that has outraged Democrats. He has claimed he knows nothing about it or the people involved in creating it.

Mr. Trump himself was not behind the project. But some of his allies were.

The document, its origins and the interplay between it and the Trump campaign have made for one of the most hotly debated questions of the 2024 race.

Here is what to know about Project 2025, and who is behind it.

What is Project 2025?

Project 2025 was spearheaded by the Heritage Foundation and like-minded conservative groups before Mr. Trump officially entered the 2024 race. The Heritage Foundation is a think tank that has shaped the personnel and policies of Republican administrations since the Reagan presidency.

The project was intended as a buffet of options for the Trump administration or any other Republican presidency. It’s the latest installment in the Heritage Foundation’s Mandate for Leadership series, which has compiled conservative policy proposals every few years since 1981. But no previous study has been as sweeping in its recommendations — or as widely discussed.

Kevin Roberts, the head of the Heritage Foundation, which began putting together the latest document in 2022, said he thought the American government would embrace a more conservative era, one that he hoped Republicans would usher in.

“We are in the process of the second American Revolution,” Mr. Roberts said on Real America’s Voice, a right-wing cable channel, in early July, adding pointedly that the revolt “will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.”

'House of the Dragon' Is Missing One Major Cameo for Daemon

The Big Picture

• Daemon's insecurities are reflected in his visions of women from his past, especially young Rhaenyra.
• Daemon has been unsuccessful in drumming up support for himself as the successor because of his cruelty and disregard for the smallfolk.
• A vision of Viserys could provoke Daemon to take significant action, fueling his desire for the crown.

In House of the Dragon Season 2, while the Greens and the Blacks have been duking it out, Daemon ( Matt Smith ) has been holed up in Harrenhal, where he's been experiencing some truly strange visions . While at Harrenhal, Daemon has been haunted by some important figures from his past, including a young Rhaenyra ( Milly Alcock ), his former wife, Laena ( Nanna Blondell ), and even his mother Alyssa Targaryen ( Emeline Lambert ). There is, however, one major figure who still hasn't made an appearance — King Viserys ( Paddy Considine ).

Daemon's older brother and the leader that Aegon ( Tom Glynn-Carney ) has been trying and failing spectacularly to live up to, King Viserys was one of the most important characters in House of the Dragon Season 1 and played a major role in Daemon's life . Daemon's vision of their mother confirmed that he was always her favorite son, which Viserys previously claimed in Season 1, but being mom's favorite doesn't mean much when your older brother sits on the Iron Throne for decades and disregards the natural line of succession to name his daughter heir. With this in mind, it seems likely that Viserys will soon pop up in one of Daemon’s visions before Season 2 comes to an end, as he played a major role in Daemon’s life and represents everything he could’ve been had he simply been born first.

House of the Dragon

The reign of House Targaryen begins with this prequel to the popular HBO series  Game of Thrones. Based on George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood , House of the Dragon  is set nearly 200 years before Game of Thrones , telling the story of the Targaryen civil war with King Viserys.

Daemon's Visions Reflect His Insecurities in 'House of the Dragon'

Even before he left Dragonstone, Daemon was plagued by insecurities, some surrounding his nephew Aemond ( Ewan Mitchell ). Unlike Daemon, Aemond has actually had the nerve to have his brother incapacitated so that he could take what he believes to be his rightful place on the throne. There are some obvious parallels between Daemon and Aemond , though their respective older brothers couldn’t be more different. Both believe they are much more suited to the Iron Throne, but are forced to live in the shadow of the firstborn son , leaving them with an unquenchable thirst for power. Based on what we saw in Season 1, Daemon and Viserys never had the best relationship, but in Episode 8, "The Lord of the Tides," Daemon proves he still cares for his brother , helping him up the stairs to the Iron Throne and placing the crown on his head. It's hard to imagine Aemond ever doing the same for his brother, and it's this deep-seated brotherly love between Daemon and Viserys that kept Daemon from becoming the monster Aemond is.

In his dreams/visions, Daemon has thus far only been visited by women from his past, and he's shown time and again that he sees women as disposable, even the ones he's married to . A lot of the conflict in House of the Dragon stems from a refusal to update societal norms when it comes to the royal line of succession. It's not the firstborn child that inherits the throne, but the firstborn son , and the secondborn son only gets a chance at the crown if the firstborn dies. This makes Viserys' insistence that Rhaenyra ( Milly Alcock / Emma D'Arcy ) inherit the throne feel even more spiteful in Daemon's eyes, especially after he finds out that Viserys never told him about the Song of Ice and Fire prophecy from Rhaenyra herself.

As we saw in Rhaenyra's confrontation with Daemon in Episode 2, Daemon still has pent-up resentment towards his wife. This war is being waged in her name, but he still refuses to bend the knee and acknowledge her as heir to the throne, believing the crown to be rightfully his, not Rhaenyra's. He runs off to Harrenhal to drum up some allies of his own, but, likely thanks to Alys ( Gayle Rankin ) , his mission is being constatly disrupted by strange visions that don't do much for his self-confidence. Young Rhaenyra tells him that Viserys always loved her more than him, Laena reminds him that he's neglected his daughters, and though Alyssa tells Daemon that he was always her favorite, this vision also unearths some of his deepest insecurities.

A Vision of Viserys Could Push Daemon to Act in 'House of the Dragon' Season 2

In Harrenhal, Daemon is running in place, not willing to cooperate with Rhaenyra and her council back at Dragonstone and trying to find allies who will bend the knee to him. This is proving difficult, considering his disregard for the lives of the innocent and his philosophy of ruling through fear, not to mention the strange visions that are clouding his mind. Though his most recent vision of Laena might prompt him to seek out his daughters Baela ( Bethany Antonia ) and Rheana ( Phoebe Campbell ), if there’s anyone who can get Daemon truly riled up, it's Viserys. Seeing him in a vision could be the tipping point that goads him into significant action, twisting the knife by reminding Daemon of his weaknesses and all the power he could’ve had if he’d had the guts to do what Aemond did to Aegon. Despite the love Daemon did have for his brother, as things continue to not go his way, seeing a vision of Viserys, the beloved peacetime king, could set him off and remind him of his inadequacies and how desperately he wants the crown for himself.

Maybe the worst part of the major character deaths in House of the Dragon is that we lose some truly great performers, the most recent being Eve Best . Once the major time jump happened midway through Season 1, we lost Alcock as young Rhaenyra, and though she previously denied rumors that she would be making an appearance in Season 2, it was a pleasant surprise to see her pop up in one of Daemon's strange dreams, even though he quickly slices her head off. Viserys appearing in one of Daemon's visions in a future episode would not only be important for his character arc in Season 2 but also a chance to see the great Paddy Considine on our screens once again , even briefly.

What is CrowdStrike, the company linked to the global outage?

The global computer outage affecting airports, banks and other businesses on Friday appears to stem at least partly from a software update issued by major US cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, experts told CNN.

CrowdStrike told customers early Friday that the outages were caused by “a defect found in a single content update of its software on Microsoft Windows operating systems, according to a post on X from CEO George Kurtz.

Kurtz later apologized to customers Friday, and said the company is “deeply sorry for the inconvenience and disruption,” he posted on X .

He reiterated that the outage was not caused by a security breach or a cyberattack and maintained that CrowdStrike’s customers were “fully protected.”

“We are working with all impacted customers to ensure that systems are back up and they can deliver the services their customers are counting on,” Kurtz said, reiterating that the cause of the outage was not malicious.

The company’s engineers took action to address the problem, according to an advisory viewed by CNN, which told customers to reboot their computers and perform other actions if they were still having technical issues. The issue is specific to Falcon, one of CrowdStrike’s main software products, and is not impacting Mac or Linux operating systems, according to the advisory. Crowdstrike says Falcon is designed to protect files saved in the cloud.

CrowdStrike’s cybersecurity software — used by numerous Fortune 500 companies, including major global banks, healthcare and energy companies — detects and blocks hacking threats. Like other cybersecurity products, the software requires deep-level access to a computer’s operating system to scan for those threats. In this case, computers running Microsoft Windows appear to be crashing because of the faulty way a software code update issued by CrowdStrike is interacting with the Windows system.

The company said the outage was not caused by a security incident or a cyberattack. Kurtz, in his post, said the issue was identified and isolated, and engineers deployed an update to fix the problem.

CrowdStrike’s ( CRWD ) stock fell 9% in midafternoon trading.

What is CrowdStrike known for?

The massive cybersecurity company does business around the world through software sales and investigations of major hacks.

The company also helps run cybersecurity investigations for the US government. For example, CrowdStrike has tracked North Korean hackers for more than a decade, the  company says . It also was tasked with tracking the hacking groups that carried out the 2014 hack on Sony Pictures.

But CrowdStrike is perhaps best known for investigating the Russian hack of Democratic National Committee computers during the 2016 US election. It has been at the center of false conspiracy theories since 2016, most notably after a  White House transcript  revealed former President Donald Trump mentioned Crowdstrike in his July 2016 call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that led to his first impeachment.

CrowdStrike was the first to publicly sound the alarm about Russia’s interference in the 2016 election and CrowdStrike’s assessment was later confirmed by US intelligence agencies.
