God has created such a beautiful world. Every element in it contributes at every stage to enhance its charm. Moreover, it is the diversity that fascinates each of us.

How wonderful it would be like to live the life of some other creature, experiencing something you have never before. Not only our body would change, but also our thoughts would change too. I wish I were a butterfly to experience these changes.

Life as a butterfly

I shall carry their pollen and spread them all over the world. With those magnificent wings of mine I would travel the whole world and make many friends on my way. How great it would be to roam down the clear sky, as well as make way to the rainbow.

Not only shall I bring smile to the faces of children that would enjoy my flight, but also I would hide myself amongst the flowers if they try to catch me and sit on their noses when they feel exhausted. The thought of children forces me to look into my childhood.

About childhood

I would have been born just like an ordinary creepy caterpillar. I would have been judged by people for damaging plants and vegetation. Furthermore, they would have seen me as a notorious and useless being. To end that worthless life I would have cover myself in a cocoon.

Being isolated from world, I would have searched reasons to die, but instead of ending my life so early I may have found reasons to live. Once, I found my worth in this world transformation would have occurred. With a bright morning I would have transformed from an ugly looking creature to a flawless butterfly with grateful movements.

Comparison with humans

Now the world who doesn’t seem to like me would suddenly rejoice in delight. Moreover, they won’t expect much from me and would love the way I am. What’s more, if I compare myself to them? I shall have nothing to worry. My life would be full of adventures every day.

I shall be free from stresses and burdens of society. Furthermore, there would be no need for me to acquire education or even building any house. Likewise, money would have no value for me. I shall live my life the way I wanted, independent of the prospective of others.

After being a butterfly I would live a small but meaningful life. There is so much to have in this world. Every little event has some fun element hidden in it.

Not only humans but other creatures have their own way of living. Everyone has their own meaning of happiness and freedom. One’s happiness should not be at the cost of others’.

Everyone wants to be beautiful and attractive and get everyone's attention like a butterfly. I like butterflies very much and today I have come up with an essay on If I were a Butterfly. So let us start with the essay.

If I were a Butterfly.

I and my sister had visited a garden close to our house recently. My sister likes to click photos so she was busy clicking pictures in the garden. The garden was beautiful it was filled with colorful flowers but I was not interested and was getting bored.

When we returned back to our home my sister started showing photos clicked by her in the garden to our family members. She had clicked a photograph of a beautiful butterfly. Looking at the photo everyone was talking about the beauty of that butterfly, at that time a thought came to my mind what if I were a butterfly, and I started to imagine what will happen if I became a butterfly.

When I will become a butterfly I will get so colorful and beautiful wings. Watching the integrated design of mine wings people will always talk about my beauty and appreciate me. Photographers like my sister will always be behind me to take my beautiful and attractive photos.

If I were a butterfly then I would fly from one place to another and there will be no one who will stop me. I will require no permission to go out of the house and the most important thing I will not have to face any traffic problems.

As a student, I have to study so much, after finishing school I have to go to the tuition, and once I return back home I have to finish with both the homework. I don't even get time to play. But if I were a butterfly then there will be no need to study, and there is no question left about school and tuition. And I will able to play for the whole day flying from one flower to another flower.

How great it will be being a butterfly, if we are hungry we can eat whatever we want. I want to sleep we can sleep anywhere without any disturbance. If I were a butterfly than life would be so beautiful isn't it?.

Essay on “If I were a Butterfly”

All of us love freedom and have their own expressions of being free. Each one of us wants to define freedom in the way it suits us.

Some teens may feel that being with friends and peers is freedom, some responsible citizens feel that loving their country and doing something about it is freedom while some think that being in the lap of Mother Nature is freedom. My idea of freedom is being a butterfly .

Nature has bounty of birds and insects that are blessed with qualities that make them unique and abilities & roles that make them an indispensable part of this ecosystem. A butterfly is quite a light flying insect which belongs to the family of moths.

It gives one immense pleasure to see a gorgeously colored or patterned butterfly appearing or emerging from a tree or a plant full of flowers. Its scenic beauty as well as its ability to extract nectar from the flowers appeals to me a lot. A butterfly is a symbolic of true freedom. For me, a butterfly moves around freely from one plant to another and is never bound by any fences or borders.

Being a butterfly, I wish I could also enjoy all the tastes of nature and also spellbound and bring smile to the faces that would enjoy my flight. Butterfly is one insect which is attractive and harmless. I wish to be one so that my acts would please others and never hurt anyone. Nature is a butterfly’s home and I would love to make it my home too.

If I were a butterfly, I would take the pleasure of sitting on colorful flowers and chosen my way myself. I would not be bound by anyone to enjoy the fruits or flowers of one tree or plant. It would love to see the variety of flora and fauna in the natural world away from the artificial world of bricks and walls created by the humans. I would fly to greater heights and stay in green pastures, which is not possible while living a human life.

A butterfly has not only beautiful wings but also is one of the least harmless creatures. If I were a butterfly, I would love to live a shorter yet meaningful life. I would like to be one of the colorful and vivid creatures giving everyone a pleasant scene and also appreciate the silence that God’s quite creatures live with. As a butterfly, I would spend some of my time trying to be around children who would feel happy and clap their hands looking at my movements.

I would be free from stress and the burdens of this society and live in a world which does not distinguish between its creatures based on caste, creed, sex, religion etc. There would be no worries and tensions of creating homes and acquiring education, earning our livelihood and saving money for future. A short life would be a blessing and it would make me realize that life is worth living.

How I Became A Butterfly

On August 6, 1991, I began my journey as a potential butterfly. During my early “egg” years I was always unsure of everything; what I waned to do, where I wanted to go and basically anything else that had a choice involved. I was always the different one throughout my whole life; like a butterfly in a sea of moths. For example, if everyone else wanted vanilla I would most likely pick strawberry. In preschool, how ironic it was that I was put in the butterfly group. Since the beginning of my school days, I was labeled the quiet one, the one who is eager to please. If anybody needed something and I had it, I would let him or her have it just because that is the way I was raised. As an egg my future was still unpredictable I could take the road more traveled like my classmates and become a moth; or I could take the road less traveled and become a butterfly. As of my egg years, my future is still uncertain. When I evolved into a caterpillar, I already knew I was different. Somehow, everybody else noticed it too, because they picked on me for it. Throughout the first grade, I was scared to raise my hand because the other kids called me a teacher’s pet, a suck up, a smarty-pants, and many other names I have chosen to forget. Until I was put in the Mentally Gifted (MG) class in second grade, I thought it was bad to be smart. For the most part, I was an outcast and a bookworm I did my work and played rope by myself at recess. In the second grade I met Jordan she became my best friend we did everything together; we would trade sandwiches at lunchtime and we even went to MG together. Halfway through the second grade we were placed in accelerated courses, which means you get to go to the third grade class for a couple of hours every day, we were so happy. In third grade, I had to move I never saw Jordan again. It hurt but when I got to my new school there was this girl named Candice she always helped me through rough times. She would tell the other people to leave me alone. We became the best of friends. Towards the end of fourth grade, she found a new group of friends and this separation pushed me into the shell I retained all the way through middle school. In middle school my “cocoon” only grew thicker. In middle school, peer pressure was at its peak. Every other day somebody was trying to persuade you to do something like drugs, theft, or whatever it was they liked to do. These four years became my trial and error years. I did some dumb stuff to push my boundaries, I did not do any thing like drugs, but I missed my curfew a couple times just to see how far I could go without getting in trouble. During my fifth grade year, I was jumped repeatedly just because I did not want to give the other students the answers to my homework or my test. I was constantly put down and my self-esteem, what was left, was depleting quickly. I was pushed so far away I barely had any friends in school. In sixth grade, I met Dumar he was supposedly the coolest guy in school, we were cool and we chilled a few times this supposedly kept everybody from messing with me. Life was cool I could walk through the halls without getting jumped life could not get any better. Then Dumar was arrested and sent to juvenile hall and somebody new took over his position as the coolest person in school. The new guy was not really into chilling with people that were cool with his enemy so now I was back to being jumped on a daily basis. In fifth and sixth grade when life got rough I would take refuge in the after school program office or the nurses office. Therefore, when the new person took over I went back to my hiding spots. I thought I could hide there until I graduated, but unfortunately in seventh grade they turned the after school room into a room for the special education students. It was during these years I took more refuge in MG then I did any other years. I had friends, people who looked up to me, for an hour every Tuesday. I would read to the special education students and when they sat there and listened, I felt so proud of myself that is how I knew I really was growing. When I started high school I knew it was to time to break free from my shell. In ninth grade, I realized that all the time I was growing up what my mom said was right. She always told me not to worry what everybody is saying; if they are talking, they are going to do it anyway and to let them waste their breath. I have always been told that I have a magnetic personality but in high school, I finally got to see it for myself. Slowly but surely, I found some friends. In ninth grade, I only had one friend and she was cool but I wanted more friends, so I went and got some but they were sheisty. I finally figured that the more friends I have the more of my business that is out in the streets. When I joined the Unique Imperial Perfections (U.I.P) drill team in ninth grade, I started chipping away at the shell that ensconced me. In tenth grade when I joined a dance group, the Green Dragons, another layer of my shell fell away. When I move through the halls now I will not walk with my head down, if you look closely you can see the pride that twinkles in my eye. In eleventh grade, I finally broke free of that last layer. I am now a full-grown butterfly and I am ready to migrate wherever the wind shall take me.
