Professor Hecat’s Assignment 2 is the seventeenth main quest and also an Assignment in Hogwarts Legacy. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of Professor Hecat’s Assignment 2 assignment quest.

Location :  The Astronomy Wing -> Defence Against the Dark Arts Classroom Quest Giver:  Professor Hecat Quest Level:  Level 7 Requirement:  Having Finished Main Quest: Tomes and Tribulations Reward:  Expelliarmus, 150XP Mission Info:  Professor Hecat wants me to practise avoiding attacks by dodge rolling. She also wants me to cast Incendio on a few enemies. My Field Guide will not guide me through this assignment, but my map could still prove useful.

Objectives:

Report to Professor Hecat

• Successfully avoid enemy attacks by dodge rolling ten times.
• Cast Incendio on enemies five times.

Return to Professor Hecat

Starting location: professor hecat’s assignment 2.

Just talk to Professor Hecat inside Defence Against the Dark Arts Classroom.

Successfully avoid enemy attacks by dodge rolling ten times and Cast Incendio on enemies five times.

Once you finished both requirements, return to Professor Hecat inside Defence Against the Dark Arts Classroom. You will learn the Expelliarmus Spell.

This finishes Professor Hecat’s Assignment 2 Assignment Quest in Hogwarts Legacy.

Professor Hecat's Assignment 2 is unlocked after completing any of the previous House-exclusive quests, and is required to progress Jackdaw's Rest .

Quest Information

Professor hecat's assignment 2 walkthrough, quest objectives, 1. where to find enemies for the assignment.

Tracking the quest through the Field Guide won't point you anywhere as these can be done with any enemy. Best places to encounter enemies at this point would be to head south of Lower Hogsfield (on the way to Keenbridge ) and within the Forbidden Forest .

Easily Doable Within Crossed Wands Round 3

You can also complete the assignment by doing side quests where fighting is involved, most notably Crossed Wands Round 3 , where you're just sparring against other students.

How to Complete Professor Hecat’s Assignment 2 – Hogwarts Legacy Guide

Any dollar store spellcaster can run around flailing their wand and shooting sparks at anyone, but that doesn’t help much when they don’t know how to not get knocked out. After all, knowing how to not get hurt in a fight is just as important as fighting yourself, if not moreso. To help hammer that lesson home, here’s how to complete Professor Hecat’s Assignment 2 in Hogwarts Legacy .

As a reminder, Professor Hecat is your Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, teaching the students of Hogwarts the best ways to defend themselves against malicious wizards and plain ol’ jerks. After you complete her first assignment, she teaches you the Fire-Making Charm, Incendio, but if you’re looking for more practical combat experience, she’s got some more homework for you.

For Professor Hecat’s second assignment, she wants you to practice dodging enemy attacks, as well as casting Incendio. Unlike some of the other quests in this game, you won’t get a waypoint on your map for this one, but that’s just because you can complete it pretty much anywhere you can find a fight.

Practicing Combat Tactics

Head out into the open world and go looking for trouble. You can pick a fight with any enemy, be they human or beast, though another spellcaster like a Poacher Tracker may be a bit easier to deal with.

Once you’re in a fight, wait for the enemy to take a swing at you, then press the indicated button to perform a dodge roll. Remember that you can only perform a dodge roll right before an enemy attack, so keep your eyes peeled for that prompt. Once you’ve successfully performed 10 of those, then you just need to cast Incendio 5 times in a fight. For either of these goals, in the event you get knocked out or accidentally defeat your enemy, you can just go fight someone else. This doesn’t all have to happen in a single fight.

Once you’ve checked off both the dodge rolls and Incendios, return to Professor Hecat to report your progress. As a reward, she’ll teach you the motion for the Disarming Charm Expelliarmus, the spell that is as useful as it is fun to say (which is to say, very!).

Unlike the other assignments thus far, you can complete Hecat’s Assignment 2 while doing other quests or exploring. This gives you the prime opportunity to kill two birds with one stone, progressing down the main storyline while completing this vital schoolwork.

Avoid Enemy Attacks by Dodge Rolling 10 times

Cast the Incendio Spell on Enemies 5 times

Attend Defense Against the Dark Arts Class during the day

After completing the tasks above, head to the Defense Against the Dark Art class, located conveniently by a Floo Flame . Simply walk in, wait if needed, and watch the cutscene to move on to the next part.

Professor Hecat’s Assignment 2 Quest

• To do this you will need to complete more tasks for Professor Hecat, and she will then teach you this spell
• Successfully avoid enemy attacks by dodge rolling (0/10)
• The easiest way to quickly accomplish both of these tasks is to pull up your map and find a location called East Hogsmeade Valley. Click so that a quest marker guide comes up and travel to it.
• As you travel you should run into goblin enemies along the way there and you can fulfill the requirements by fighting them. Keep an eye on your mini map for the red arrows which indicate enemies you can fight.
• If it’s the middle of the night, you can move time forward by pulling up the map. In the lower right hand corner there will be listed a button you can interact with (click R3 on the PS5 controller, F on keyboard and mouse) to ‘Wait’ and advance the game to daytime.
• She will teach you the Expelliarmus the spell
• Complete the mini-game, the same as before

• Now you can head to East Hogsmeade Valley to start Jackdaw’s Rest
