The Chancellor’s International Scholarships are allocated annually via a combined postgraduate research scholarship competition and are open to all International and EU students in any discipline offered at Warwick.

• The full payment of overseas tuition fees

• A maintenance stipend paid at the prevailing UKRI rates (£18,750 for 2024/25) for 3.5 years

• A Research, Training and Supporting Grant ( RTSG ) of £5,000

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

  • • Apply for a PhD at the University of Warwick to begin in October 2024; or
  • • Be currently enrolled in the first year of a PhD or MPhil/PhD at the University of Warwick,  to be eligible you must be within the first 12 months of enrolment of a PhD or MPhil/PhD at the University in October 2024;
  • • Be assessed as ‘overseas’ for fees purposes. There are no other nationality criteria;
  • • Be from any discipline at Warwick.

Scholarships awards range from 10% of your tuition fee to a maximum of 50% for exceptional candidates. They are highly competitive and awarded on an ongoing basis, so applicants are strongly encouraged to apply early.

 All alumni from the University of Warwick who are accepted onto a postgraduate Masters receive a minimum 10% scholarship from the Warwick Alumni Discount Scheme, and up to an additional 40% for exceptional academic and/or extra-curricular achievements. 

For outstanding individuals across the UK and Commonwealth to encourage geographical diversity. 

Available on a competitive basis for exceptional talent living outside of the UK or the Commonwealth. 

Warwick students will be awarded with an automatic 25% scholarship (with 10% of this scholarship coming from the Warwick Alumni Discount Scheme). You will also be considered for our other scholarships. Click to find out more.

If you're a Warwick student and you start one of our masters courses directly after your Undergraduate degree, we'll award you an automatic 25% scholarship (with 10% of this scholarship coming from the Warwick Alumni Discount Scheme). You will also be considered for our other scholarships, with a further 25% scholarship available to outstanding candidates. 

All applicants who are offered a scholarship will be notified at the time they are made an offer for the MSc.

For 2021/22 entry there will be up to 42 Chancellor’s International Scholarships available to be awarded to the most outstanding International and EU PhD applicants . Awards made for entry in Autumn 2021 will include both of the following:

  • The full payment of tuition fees (worth up to £24,010)
  • A maintenance stipend in line with UKRI rates (provisional £15,285 for full time award holders in 2021/22, expected to be confirmed February 2021)
  • A Research, Training and Supporting Grant ( RTSG ) of £5,000
  • Length of funding: 3.5 years, unless you are already in your first year of study when you apply then the length of funding will be reduced accordingly.
  • Applicants for a Chancellor’s International Scholarship must also be applying for a PhD at the University of Warwick to begin in October 2021;
  • Students currently enrolled on a PhD or MPhil/PhD at the University of Warwick may apply in their first year of registration only;
  • Applicants must expect to be ‘overseas’ students for fees purposes, but there is no other nationality criteria;
  • Applicants may be from any discipline at Warwick.

Candidates must have outstanding academic performance from previous education qualifications.
