Applicants are advised to check the below-mentioned points about PU M.Phil & PhD entrance exam application form:

• The application form has been released on the official website of the competent authority i.e. Panjab University.
• The candidates will have to submit the form online. The application form other than online mode would not be accepted, in any case.
• Multiple forms must not be submitted by a candidate as it will lead to rejection.
• A valid e-mail Id & mobile number should be provided by the candidate as all the communication will be made by mail & SMS.
• Candidates should upload the scanned clear passport photograph & signature in JPG/JPEG format. 
• Due to technical or any other issue if the scanned photograph does not appear properly on the printout, then applicants are advised to send the mail(with the registered mail id) with the registration details along with the scanned passport (pp) size photograph immediately to the concerned department.
• Fee will not be accepted via Money Order, Cheque, Pay Order, IPO, etc.
• Aspirants must fill the form completely in all respect. 
• The authority will not accept any request for a change of category or any other details once the form will be submitted.
• Take multiple photocopies of the filled application form for further process.
• The candidates are advised not to send the xerox of the online application form & fee payment receipt to the office of conducting body.

• Name as per 10th class certificate
• Father’s name
• Mother’s name
• D.O.B (date of birth)
• Valid Mail Id.
• Enter valid mobile number.
• Select post-graduation university.
• Select post-graduation passing/appearing year
• Now select the course.
• Choose the category (SC/ST/PwD)
• Lastly, download the bank challan/bank slip to pay the fee

• Step 2 - Fill the asked details correctly in the application form.
• Step 3 - After filling the required information, click on the “Submit” for online registration.
• Step 4 - Note down the Login Id and Password for future references.
• Step 5 - Now, deposit the asked fee using a website-generated bank slip (website generated challan) at any SBI branch, a minimum of one day after printing of bank slip.
• Step 6 - Upload the documents like a photograph, signature, and other important documents in the application form.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION TO THE PROGRAMME

• Candidates for admission to the program shall have a Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC-7 point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of an educational institution.
• A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50% or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ ST/ BC (non-creamy layer)/ PWD and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever the grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedure.

ELIGIBILITY FOR TEST IN THE FACULTY OF PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES

• 1. (a) Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
• (b) Master’s degree of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Pharmaceutics/ Pharmacognosy / Pharmacology / Pharmaceutical analysis / Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance/ Pharmaceutical Analysis & Quality Assurance/ Drug Discovery and Drug Development
• Master’s degree (M.Pharm., M.Sc., M.S., M.Tech. program) related to subjects listed under 1-b viz. Master’s degree in Industrial Pharmacy / Pharmaceutical Technology/ Regulatory Affairs/ Pharmaceutical biotechnology/ Pharmacy Practice/ Phytopharmacy & Phytomedicine/ Medicinal Chemistry/ Pharmacoinformatics / Natural Products / Traditional medicine/ clinical research/ Technology (Formulations)/ Pharmacology & Toxicology/ Pharm. Technology (Process Chemistry)/ Regulatory Toxicology/ Pharm. Technology (Biotechnology) etc. related to subjects listed under 1-b above with equivalence of course content. The equivalence shall be examined and decided by the Academic Committee of the UIPS.

ELIGIBILITY FOR TEST IN FACULTY OF ARTS, EDUCATION, LANGUAGES, SCIENCE, DESIGN, AND FINE ARTS

Any candidate who has passed the Master’s examination in the concerned subject with a score of not less than 55% (50% for SC/ST/BC/PwD Category) marks in aggregate, or has appeared in the final year examination of Master’s degree in the subject concerned from Panjab University, Chandigarh or from any other University (approved by the appropriate Academic Bodies of P.U.), shall be eligible to appear for the Ph.D. Entrance Test.

For Gandhian Studies (Ph.D.)

The students possessing a degree of M.A. in Gandhian and Peace Studies are to be considered for enrolment for a Ph.D. degree in the other subjects of Arts and Social Sciences provided they clear the Entrance Test in the subject in which the enrolment is sought.

For Public Administration (Ph.D.)

A candidate should have obtained Masters’s Degree in Public Administration or Political Science Economics Sociology or Psychology with at least 55% (50% for SC/ ST/ BC/ PwD Category) marks in aggregate for Ph.D. in Public Administration.

Eligibility for Women Studies for Ph.D.

A candidate for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Women Studies should have obtained from the University a Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% (50% for SC/ ST/ BC/ PwD Category) marks in any Faculty.

Eligibility for Swami Vivekananda Studies for Ph.D.

• As per Syndicate’s decision, the Ph.D. program is opened to students from various disciplines who have cleared UGC-NET in their own discipline or Ph.D. Entrance Examination in Swami Vivekananda Studies conducted by Panjab University. These candidates will have to do a Course work in Swami Vivekananda Studies or if they want to do it in their own discipline then they will have to also pass the certificate course in Vivekananda Studies over and above the Master’s Degree.
• For Sociology, a candidate should have obtained a Master’s degree in the subject of Sociology or Anthropology (Social Anthropology) with 55%(50% for SC/ ST/ BC/ PwD Category) marks in aggregate.
• Any candidate with an M.Sc. (any branch of science)/ M.Tech./M.E. (any branch of engineering)/ M.Pharm. relevant to Nanoscience and Nanotechnology would be considered eligible to pursue Ph.D. in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.
• Minimum 55% (50% for SC/ ST/ BC/ PwD Category) marks in aggregate are required in the qualifying exam and existing rules of the university will apply. Further, the final decision of enrolment will be subject to approval by the Joint Academic Administrative Purse (JAAP) committee (subject to the approval of the Syndicate/ Senate).

ELIGIBILITY FOR TEST OF FACULTY OF ENGINEERING

• Master’s degree in Engineering or Technology in the subjects of Computer Science & Engineering/ Electronics & Communication/ Electrical & Electronics/ Information Technology/ Mechanical/ Biotechnology/ Materials/ Microelectronics or an Allied subject approved by AICTE. For a Ph.D. in the Subjects related to applied Science, Master’s degree in Science in (Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics) or Allied subjects (The candidates will be enrolled in the Faculty of Science).
• Any candidate who has passed the Master’s examination in the concerned subject with a score of not less than 55% (50% for SC/ ST/ BC/ PwD Category) marks in aggregate or has appeared in the final year examination of Master’s degree in the subject concerned from Panjab University, Chandigarh or from any other University (approved by the appropriate Academic Bodies of P.U.) shall be eligible to appear for the Ph.D. Entrance Test.

For Chemical/ Food Technology / Industrial Chemistry

Pu researcher finds 3.3m years old rare elephant tusk.

Punjab University Department of Zoology's PhD student Ghayyour Abbas has made a marvelous discovery of a rare 3.3 million-year-old elephant tusk fossil from the Village Tatrot in Sohawa Tehsil of District Jhelum. The tusk fossil perhaps belongs to the extinct Anancus genus of elephants, who roamed in the primitive forest habitat of Jhelum some 3.5 million years ago and measures approximately 6 feet. Siwalik Mountain geological formation range in Jhelum,Chakwal and Miawali districts is famous for rare elephant fossils as the geological range is regarded as the paradise of elephant fossils all over the world.

PU Archaeology Department discovered 2000 years old Unique evidences of Buddhist Narrative Art in Terracotta from Punjab

Punjab University Research Team under the patronage of Dr. Muhammad Hameed, Chairman Department of Archeology, University of the Punjab, discovered unique evidence of Buddhist Narrative Art in Terracotta from the old River bed of Jhelum between Sargodha and Jhang in the field work carried out in 2023. The 2000-years old artefacts belong to Buddhist civilization which also developed in Punjab. During the field work innumerable evidences of ancient settlements in form of cultural mounds were recorded. It was also confirmed that the followers of Buddhism were inhabitants of this area and they established their religious buildings, stupas and monasteries. This great achievement / efforts of Punjab University research team altered the religious and cultural history of the Punjab which has taken a new dimension clearly indicate that the followers of Buddhism established their center of worship in Punjab and adopted a unique method for dissemination and preaching of their religio, which is being named as, "Buddhist Narrative Art in Terracotta from Punjab".

UET Lahore Entry Test ECAT Result 2024

UET Lahore conducted the Engineering College Admission Test ECAT 2024 for admissions to engineering universities of Punjab. ECAT Results will be announced on March 22, 2024. University of Engineering & Technology UET Lahore Entry test for Admissions to Engineering Colleges and Universities of Punjab was conducted in March 2024. The test is computer-based.

UET Lahore ECAT 2024 is compulsory for admission to all Government and Private Engineering Universities in Punjab. The maximum possible score in the Entrance Test is 400.

Since the awarding of the first master's degree in History in 1942, the graduate program at UTEP has experienced significant growth. In 1967, a Graduate School was organized, and in 1974, the first doctoral-level degree program, the Doctor of Geological Sciences, was approved by the Coordinating Board of the Texas College and University System, with the first degree awarded in 1979. Today, UTEP offers Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Biological Sciences; Biomedical Engineering; Chemistry; Civil Engineering; Computational Science; Computer Science; Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Electrical and Computer Engineering; Environmental Science and Engineering; Geological Sciences; History; Interdisciplinary Health Sciences; International Business; Materials Science and Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Psychology; Rhetoric and Composition; Teaching, Learning, and Culture.  We also offer the Doctor of Education, the Doctor of Nursing Practice, the Doctor of Physical Therapy, and the Doctor of Pharmacy.  More than 70 master's degree programs are now available at UTEP.
