5.1. Turkish Visa Application form

The Turkish visa application form must be filled out to initiate your visa process for a study visa for Turkey. This application form will require you to fill out several fields.  

These include personal details, academic background, travel history, choice of visa, etc.

There are no specific mentions of IELTS for Turkey student visas on their immigration website. However, it is required to get enrolled in the university.  

The minimum IELTS band score in Turk universities is 5.0, while some universities like Middle East Technical University or Izmer University of Economics require 6 bands, which is still comparatively less than the requirement of universities in European countries.

5.9. Acceptance Letter from Turkish University

It is an acceptable proof of study, internship, and training program at a higher institution in Turkey.   This acceptance letter should mention:

That the applicant is accepted to a study program at a Turkish university.

It also includes accommodation proof and details of the organization supporting the student, plus the duration of studies.

Students should also attach the scholarship details if they are getting any.

The annual fee for studying a full-time degree program in Turkey can range from $250 to $1,500.

5.10. Bank statement for Turkey Student Visa 

The applicants are required to prove their financial means to be eligible for the Turkey study visa. The proof can be provided through a proper bank statement.

According to the official calculation, €50 per day is enough for a foreigner to stay in Turkey.

So if the International student provides a bank statement of € 7000, it’s financially enough for them to stay in Turkey comfortably for around 5-6 months.

Bank Statement must be signed and stamped by the bank officer. The bank account must be in the name of the student.

This amount should be shown irrespective of the university fee.

In the case of a scholarship or grant, there is no need of showing a bank statement.

A family registration certificate (FRC) is a document that tells that the family record of the student is complete in the database of the home country.

This document contains details of the name and information of the parents and siblings. This document is very much important in case of extending a residence permit or in case of permanent settling in Turkey.

Yes, you can extend your stay in Turkey. To do so, you must apply for a short-term residence permit at the Directorate General of Migration Management (DGMM) in Turkey before your current visa expires.

To apply for a Turkey visa for Indians, you must provide additionally:

NOC from school/college: Original No Objection Certificate by the School/College, stating the leave approval for the duration of the trip if the minor is of school-going age.

Birth certificate: A copy of the minor’s birth certificate to prove the relationship with the parents or guardians.

Parental financial and employment documents: Including salary slips, Form 16, or business documents like GST certificates of the parents or guardians, if applicable.

Parental passports: Copies of the first and last pages of both parents’ or legal guardians’ passports.

Sponsorship letter: If the trip is sponsored, a notarised financial support letter from the sponsor stating the sponsor's relationship to the minor and the sponsorship details is required.

Additional documents for visiting relatives: If the minor is visiting a Turkish citizen or a foreign resident in Turkey, an invitation letter including the minor's passport number and full name and a copy of the inviter's identity card and bank account are required.

After visa rejection, you will be notified of the reasons. Once you have fixed these reasons, you can reapply for your visa.

You will lose the funds when applying through the government channels, as they do not provide refunds.

• VFS will accept applications as per the document checklists provided by Turkey Consulate, Mumbai. Documents will be arranged as per the order given in the checklist. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
• If an application is rejected, the applicant cannot reapply for 06 months
• Applicant can apply maximum 60 days in advance for Turkey Visa.

For applicants applying in New Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Gurgaon, Kolkata and Kathmandu

• VFS will accept applications as per the document checklists provided by the Embassy of Turkey, New Delhi. Documents will be arranged as per the order given in the checklist.
• Minimum Processing time is 15 working days from the date of submission at Turkish Embassy.
• For Work Permit cases minimum processing time is 25 working days.
• If an application is rejected, the applicant cannot reapply for 15 days from date of refusal.

For applicants applying in Hyderabad

• VFS will accept applications as per the document checklists provided by the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey, Hyderabad . Documents will be arranged as per the order given in the checklist.
• Minimum Processing time is 3 working days from the date of submission at Turkish Embassy.
• If an application is rejected, the applicant cannot reapply for 01 Month from date of refusal.
• Jurisdiction: Consulate General of Turkey in Hyderabad : Andhra Pradesh, Telengana, Orissa and Chhattisgarh.
• If an applicant wants to submit an application with urgent travel dates VFS can accept it, however the discretion to grant or refuse the visa application is completely at the discretion of the Turkey Consulate.

Original Passport (Passport must be valid for at least 6 months upon arrival in Turkey and should have at -least 2 full blank pages available in it). Also provide 2 photo copies of Passport first and last page.

• Passports which are not issued in jurisdiction for applicants applying under the jurisdiction of Consulate General of Turkey Mumbai need to be submitted with local address proof which consists of Valid Lease and Licence copy, Purchase/ Sales agreement. (All the documents must be notarized)
• Aadhar Card, Electricity Bill can also be submitted with Notary and Mantralaya.
• Visa application form filled with 2 white background having size 2.5inch x 2.5inch

• Online form needs to be filled in CAPITAL LETTERS only for all categories.
• For all categories - Mother and Father name needs to be mention in online form.
• For Tourist & Business - No of Travel days should be 02 days extra from the date of departure in Turkey.
• For all categories - In case of no surname then two dots without space (..) needs to be mention in field Surname.
• For work permit applications -"NAME OF HOST PERSON OR HOST COMPANY" should be "HOST COMPANY NAME" mentioned on the contract copy.
• For work permit applications - No of Days to be mention is 90 days from date of travel and will be single entry visa only.
• Passport must be valid for at least 6 months upon arrival in Turkey and have 2 full blank pages available
• Covering letter from the applicant with all details about which university being attended, dates of planned departure, reason for studies and which studies being pursued, passport number, name and address of applicant.
• Acceptance letter from the University which the applicant is going to attend.
• Last qualification achieved certificate along with the copies.

If the applicant is a minor i.e. below 18 years of age they need a consent letter signed by Parents along with their ID proofs.

Note: Consent letter should be on 100Rs.Stamp Paper and should be notarised.

• Last 3 months personal bank statement of the Parents along with a sponsorship letter from the Parents if Parents are funding the education of the applicant.
• Confirmed one way ticket.
• 2 photo copies of Passport first and last page.

In case the Student is going through any Indian University to Turkey University then original covering letter from Indian University is required.

In case the student has applied directly to University in Turkey then he/she has to submit personal covering letter mentioning the same in detail.

Documents for Study visa under New Delhi and Jurisdiction:

• The original passport should be issued less than 10 years with a minimum validity of 6 months beyond the intended duration of stay in Turkish territory and with at least two full blank pages.
• 2 biometric photos with a white background that were taken within the last 6 months, depicting the full face including ears and all hair, clearly and completely visible without shadow, in 2.5inch x 2.5inch size.
• Covering letter from the applicant with all details about which university/institution/AIESEC/Course being attended, dates of planned departure, reason for studies and which studies being pursued, passport number, name and address of applicant.
• Travel insurance (insurance should cover at least first 4 months duration in Turkey)
• Reservation one way ticket
• Acceptance letter from the University which the applicant is going to register.
• Tuition fee payment receipt original or copy attested by the bank.
• Invitation letter from AIESEC/IAESTE/ERASMUS in Turkey specified the full name and passport number of the applicant
• Acceptance note from AIESEC/IAESTE/ERASMUS
• Request letter from AIESEC/IAESTE/ERASMUS branch in India with all details about which program being attended, dates of planned departure, passport number, name and adress of applicant.
• Two references names, contact information must be written on visa application form.
• Organization (tn) acceptance/Enrollment letter signed by the applicant stating two reference people with all their contact information and ID copies from the Language Course/School which the applicant is going to attend.
• If the applicant have relatives or references in Turkey; a letter from these relatives guaranteeing expenses and return back.
• Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) is a mandatory document (It can be issued from Local Police Station or Passport Office)
• Last 3 months personal bank statement of the parents along with a sponsorship letter (notarized) from the parents if parents are funding the education fo the student.
• Last 3 months personal bank statement of the researcher
• Minors need consent letter from both parents in all cases (even though minor is travelling with both parents). The consent NOC must be on stamp paper with photos of parents and applicant and notarized.
• Notarized copies of all graduation certificates starting from primary school and up for student
• If Agent is making the application on behalf of the applicant, letter of attorney from every applicant, in original
• Copies of first and last pages of the passport

Applicants applying in Hyderabad must submit documents mentioned below;

• Previous passport needs to be submitted if current passport is issued after 2015
• Visa application form filled and signed by the applicant.
• Photo copy of Passport first and last page.
• Invitation letter from the College / University in Turkey in English or Turkish
• Flight reservation.
• Fee receipt paid to the College / University in Turkey
• Educational Certificates(original and photocopy)
• Personal bank statement of last three months with Original Bank Seal and with sufficient funds (1 Lac and above)

• Police clearance certificate (PCC) is a mandatory document (it can be issued from Local Police Station or Passport Office).
• Travel Insurance for 90 days.
