The final result of the AIIMS PhD 2024 exam has been announced by the authority on March 11, 2024. The entrance exam of AIIMS PhD 2024 January session was conducted on February 9 in online mode and the stage I result was announced on February 19. The AIIMS PhD 2024 is an entrance exam for admission into the PhD programmes . This exam offers aspiring researchers a gateway to pursue their passion for medical and healthcare research and contribute to advancements in the field. AIIMS PhD 2024 entrance exam is a highly competitive examination and tests the knowledge, aptitude, and research skills of the candidates. The examination is usually conducted twice a year in two sessions - January and July. The AIIMS PhD 2024 is held in two sessions. Below are the highlights of the AIIMS PhD 2024 exam.

AIIMS PhD 2024 overview

Aiims phd 2024 eligibility criteria.

The candidate should have completed MBBS / BDS with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks or should have a degree in MD / MS / MDS / DM / MCh in the subject concerned or Diplomate of National Board of Examination.

Aspirants holding MSc degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Nursing speciality are also eligible for AIIMS PhD 2024.

The non-medical candidates should hold a master’s degree (two year’s course) awarded by Indian Universities or equivalent.

Candidates holding M.Sc. (Other than M.Sc. Nursing) M.Tech. degree , BAMS & BHMS are eligible for the non-medical qualification category. Candidates having eligibility under non-medical category should have at least 60% marks in the last eligibility examination qualified.

AIIMS PhD 2024 application process

The application form of AIIMS PhD 2024 should be submitted before the deadline. No candidate can apply for more than 3 applications. The step-by-step guide to fill the AIIMS PhD 2024 application form is as follows -

Go to the official website, aiimsexams.ac.in

Click on the “academic courses” and click on “PhD” section

Under the “New registration” button, click on “Click here”

Click on the “Proceed” button and fill all the details asked in the new candidate registration form

After filling the required information then click on the “Register” button. A message will appear on screen containing ‘Candidate ID’ and ’Password’. An Email and SMS will also be sent to registered email Id and mobile number having login credentials

Re-login using the candidate ID and the new changed password

After this, a page with all the 7 steps of the registration process will appear.

On the registration page, fill in all the details asked carefully and then click on “update” button

After the first step of registration is completed, the next step is to fill the educational qualifications. Fill all the required fields carefully and then click on “save and proceed” button

After the qualification details are filled, fill the experience details asked and then click on “save & proceed” button

The next step is to select the exam centre. There is only one exam centre available for the AIIMS PhD 2024 exam - Delhi NCR. After that click on the “proceed” button

Pay the requisite application fee by online mode and after the successful completion take a print out of the payment receipt

After successful payment confirmation, upload the latest passport size photograph, signature and thumb impression in the proper format. The supported digital image format includes gif, png, jpg/jpeg.

After successful image uploading, click on the “save and proceed” button

Cross check all the details mentioned in the AIIMS PhD 2024 application form and take a printout of it and logout.

Documents required for AIIMS PhD 2024 application form

The following list of documents are required to be submitted while filling the application form of AIIMS PhD 2024.

Sponsorship Certificate (in the case of sponsored candidate)

NOC from Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in case of foreign national

Proof of award of eligible fellowship for non-medical candidates applying in OF category

Note: No other documents other than the above mentioned are required while filling up the AIIMS PhD 2024 application form. However, students will have to go through a document verification process before getting admission at AIIMS PhD.

The registered candidates are required to download their AIIMS PhD 2024 admit cards from the official website by logging in using their credentials. Carrying AIIMS PhD 2024 admit card at the exam centre is mandatory to be allowed to sit for the test.

AIIMS PhD Entrance Exam 2024 admissions

The AIIMS PhD 2024 admissions will start from March 12 and the last date to join the PhD programme is March 30, 2024. The admissions will be given on a merit basis. All seats in a department will be clubbed and the candidates will be eligible only for seats in the department that they have applied for. The application process for AIIMS PhD 2023 has started. The application form can be filled online on the AIIMS website. The last date to apply is July 19, 2023.
The entrance exam for AIIMS PhD 2023 will be held on July 24, 2023. The exam will be conducted in a CBT (computer-based test) mode.
The results of the AIIMS PhD 2023 entrance exam will be announced on August 12, 2023. The shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview round.

The application fee is indicated by the AIIMS, New Delhi in the official prospectus for all candidates. Below we have mentioned category-wise application fees:

AIIMS PhD Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants for the PhD courses at AIIMS must possess the following qualifications.

Medical Education qualification: MBBS/BDS with 50% min. or MD/MS/MDS/DM/MCh or Diplomate of NBE.
Nursing Qualification- candidates holding M.Sc degree with 50% min. in Nursing speciality may also be able to apply.
Non- medical candidates- candidates who are not from medical background must have attained a minimum of 60% in a valid 2 years Master degree.

Note: The Candidates who possess M.Sc/ M.tech. Degree & BAMS will be eligible for the Non-medical qualification category. Do make sure to check the eligibility before applying for an exam.

Method of Cut-Off

At least 50% in each stage of the written test (Stage I and II) to be eligible for Stage III. Special weightage (described in the prospectus) to be added after determining eligibility. Candidates 3 times the number of seats advertised will be called for Stage III (Department clinical/ practical/lab based assessment carrying 20 marks)

Method of resolving ties: The tie case will be resolved according to age (Date of birth), the older candidate shall get preference over the younger one.

Qualifiers of the AIIMS PhD 2023 selection tests are offered admission to the PhD programs through counselling. Candidates are advised to refer to the official website regularly after the release of results for the latest updates regarding counselling for admissions.

While counselling the selected aspirants need to carry their documents for verification purpose.
Admission is conducted through counselling on the basis of merit only.

The AIIMS Ph.D. Online Application Dates are included in the link below for applicants’ convenience, and they should review them.

AIIMS Ph.D. 2024 Application form

The AIIMS-Ph.D. 2024 Registration Form will be made available in February 2024. First and foremost, applicants should visit the All India Institute of Medical Sciences’ official website.

To fill up the registration form, applicants should obtain the prospectus with key instructions. Following that, applicants must register themselves by providing the necessary information and paying the registration fee via debit/credit card/Net Banking. Applicants will be given a registration form, which they must complete by providing complete and accurate information.

After a few days of submitting the Registration Form, there will be a facility to correct the registration form. Applicants must submit the application form well before the deadline.

Application fee for AIIMS Ph.D. 202 4

Applicants can make the payment online using a debit/credit card or Net Banking. The registration fee is:

General / OBC Category: Rs.1500/– + applicable Transaction Fees
SC/ST Category: Rs.1200/– + applicable Transaction Fees
PWD applicants are excused from paying any fees.

AIIMS Ph.D. 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for the Ph.D. programs at AIIMS must meet the following requirements.

Medical Education :- MBBS/BDS with a minimum of 50% or MD/MS/MDS/DM/MCh or Diplomate of NBE.
Nursing Qualifications: – Applicants having an M.Sc degree with a minimum of 50% in a Nursing specialization may also apply.
Non-medical candidates:- Applicants who are not from a medical background must have obtained a minimum of 60% in a legitimate two-year Master’s degree.

Applicants with an M.Sc./M.Tech. degree and a BAMS would be qualified for the Non-medical qualifications category. Before applying for a test, make sure to confirm your eligibility.

AIIMS Ph.D. 2024 Exam Pattern

Exam Mode: The AIIMS Nursing Examination 2024 will be held entirely online.

The Application Form for the AIIMS Ph.D. program has been released on the official website for all the aspirants who want to pursue a Ph.D. in any of the programs offered by the institute.
Aspirants have to first register on the doorway examination application form.
Applicants must download and take a print of the registration form.

Application fees:

General/OBC category candidates have to pay Rs. 1500 as application fees whereas SC/ST candidates have to pay Rs.1200. However, candidates belonging to the PWBD category are exempt from paying any application fees.

Mode of application fee payment:

AIIMS Admission Eligibility Criteria:

Verification of all Original Certificates/Degrees/NOC from the involved department as well as eligibility.
Verification of different relevant documents to check if the aspirant is meeting all the conditions as per the Prospectus and Institute’s rules.
Proof of availability of analysis funds/fellowship/grant from recognized funding agency for Project code wherever Fellowship is necessary.
Admission to Ph.D. Program is completed on the premise of the provision of analysis funds/fellowship/grant from recognized funding agencies.

Medical Qualifications: MBBS/BDS with minimum 55% aggregate marks or MD/MS/MDS/ DM/M.Ch within the subject involved or Diplomat of National Board of Examination.

Nursing Qualifications: Aspirants holding an M.Sc. degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Nursing Specialty will also be eligible for Ph. D admission in the College of Nursing.

Exam Pattern of Stage I-

Duration of the Exam: 1 Hour 30 Minutes
Mode of the Exam: Computer Based Test (CBT)
Language of the Question Paper: English solely
Type of Examination: Objective sort
Type of Questions: Multiple Alternative Primarily Based Questions
Total variety of components in Question Paper: There are two Stages in the Question paper – Stage I and Stage II.
The total variety of Queries: 70 Questions
Total variety of Marks: 70 Marks
For every correct answer: 1 mark is awarded to the overall score.
For every wrong answer: ⅓ mark is deducted from the total score.
Distribution of Questions and Marks in Every Stage for both Medical and Non-Medical aspirants:

Note: The aspirants are selected on the basis of the combined marks obtained in every stage of the doorway Examination. Further weightage for 10 marks also is added to the whole score of the aspirants in Stage I if they clear the qualifying criteria.

Stage II – The second stage carries 20 Marks and it is a Departmental Assessment.

For Doctor of Medicine: Anesthesiology, Nuclear Medicine, Radio-Diagnosis, Biochemistry, Pediatrics, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PMR), Biophysics, Microbiology, Obstetrics &Gynecology, Radiotherapy, Pathology, Anatomy, Community Medicine, Pharmacology, Physiology, Dermatology and Venereology, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry.

For Master of Surgery: Orthopedics, Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology (ENT).
For Master of Dental Surgery: Orthodontics, Conservative Dentistry, and Endodontics, Prosthodontics.

Admit Card:
