Zambia Police Recruitment
The Zambia Police recruits regularly on an annual basis. The Zambia Police Recruitment 2023/2024 application is open for candidates who wish to be employed as police officers in Zambia.
The recruitment process for the Zambia Police is conducted in phases, starting from the local selection of candidates through nationwide written examinations and finally ending with physical tests at SDA Academy where you will undergo training before being considered for employment as a police officer with the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The Zambia Police recruits regularly on an annual basis.
The Zambia Police has announced the recruitment of about 3000 new police officers in 2022 for the Executive and Non-Executive Cadres. The online application portal is already open from 9th to 30th October 2023, but you can also apply offline before 30th November 2023.
Zambia Police Recruitment 2023/2024 Application & Portal:
The Zambia Police recruits regularly on an annual basis. The current recruitment forms were opened on 9th October and will close on 30th November .
Candidates who have been accepted into any of the cadres will be expected to report at the designated reporting stations by midnight on 31st December, where they will undergo a physical fitness test and other medical tests before they are inducted into service as Police Officers by 1st February.

Zambia Police Recruitment Qualifications
You are required to fulfill the following basic requirements before applying for this Zambia Police Recruitment:
- Must be a citizen by birth or descent.
- Must not have any criminal record(s) (including traffic offences).
- Must be physically and mentally fit.
- A minimum of Ordinary Level qualification with at least 4 credits in English, Mathematics and Science.
- Applicants must be Zambian Citizen by birth or descent.
- You must be a Zambian citizen by birth or descent. You must have a valid Zambian passport. You must not be a foreign national, stateless person or a refugee.
- You should not have any criminal record(s).
- You should not have any criminal record(s). This is one of the most important conditions that you must meet to become a police officer.
- A criminal record is something that will reflect on your character and can disqualify you from serving in the Zambia Police Service.
- To avoid this, ensure that before submitting your application, there are no pending cases against you at any court or prosecutor’s office within or outside the country.
- If there are pending cases against you, then it means there is still an ongoing investigation against you by law enforcement agencies like special investigations unit and crime intelligence among others. In such a case, contacting the investigating agency will be wise as they might provide advice on how best to proceed with your application.
- You must be physically and mentally fit.
- You must be able to pass the physical fitness test, including a medical check-up, which will be conducted at Police Training College in Lusaka.
- You do not need any previous experience in athletics or sports but you must be physically fit and able to run for about two minutes on a standard running track.
- You also need to pass the written test which will consist of 100 questions based on your knowledge of Zambia and its laws as well as general knowledge.
Successful candidates will then go through an interview process where they are assessed on their communication skills, motivation and personality traits before being invited for training at Police Training College.

The closing date for Zambia Police Recruitment 2022/2023 is December . The application window for the recruitment process will be open from October to December.

As we’ve mentioned above, the salary of a Zambian Police Officer depends on their rank. The highest paid officer is a Chief Inspector who stands to earn K3,750,000 per annum.
The lowest paid officer is a Constable who earns K1,250,000 per annum.

Police training in Zambia is 12 months long. The police training college is located at Kabwe, central province of Zambia.
