Varisu movie review: Predictable family drama that works only due to Vijay's presence
Varisu movie review: it’s a quintessential family drama with all the familiar beats. along with vijay, the film also stars rashmika mandanna, sarath kumar, jayasudha, srikanth, shaam and prakash raj..
It is no surprise that mainstream filmmakers in the south still continue to milk the family drama genre to its last drop. In spite of the myriad iterations of the same story template over the years, it is one genre with a very high success rate. No wonder Vamshi Paidipally plays it extremely safe with Varisu, which marks his maiden collaboration with Vijay. It’s your quintessential family drama with all the familiar beats and it’s largely salvaged by the presence of one man, Vijay , who does all the heavy lifting and makes this a fairly engaging watch. Also read: Vijay’s film is old wine in the most decorative bottle. Watch Varisu trailer
The story is centered around a family that’s headlined by Rajendran (Sarath Kumar), who is one of the biggest businessmen in India. His two sons – Jai and Ajay (Srikanth and Shaam) - look after his business and one among them is hopeful of becoming the heir. One fine day when Rajendran learns that he is suffering from advanced-stage pancreatic cancer, he decides to fulfills his wife’s wish of celebrating his 65th birthday in a grand manner. Rajendran’s youngest son, Vijay Rajendran (Vijay), returns home after seven years for the birthday party at the behest of his mother. He had left home after a disagreement with his father over joining the family business. What happens in the family that forces Vijay to stay back and why does his father makes him the chairman of his group of companies?
Varisu is predictable from the word go but what still works in its favour is the mere presence of Vijay. Having predominantly worked in action films in recent years, it was refreshing to see Vijay have fun in an out-and-out family flick. Here’s a film that taps into Vijay’s comical side in a big way and it works like magic. It’s an effortless performance and one that appeals to even a non-Vijay fan. Every time predictability kicks in, Vijay walks in to distract and entertain with his pitch-perfect performance of a son who becomes the saviour of his family. Apart from Vijay, there isn’t a single factor that makes Varisu what it is. Nevertheless, it’s a film you won’t mind taking your family to this Pongal festival.
The familial moments, especially scenes between Vijay and Jayasudha (who plays the mother) work somewhat in an otherwise largely predictable film. For the family drama angle to have worked even more effectively, the conflict between the brothers should’ve been even more stronger. One thing that the film does manage to get right is deliver exactly what the trailer promised. As a viewer if you had walked in with your expectations in place after watching the trailer, you won’t be disappointed.

VARISU MOVIE REVIEW CLICK TO RATE THE MOVIE
Varisu is a film written and directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under the banner Shri Venkateswara Creations. The film has Thalapathy Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna as the lead actors while Sarathkumar, Jayasudha, SJ Suryah, Shaam, Srikanth, Yogi Babu, Prakash Raj, Ganesh Venkatraman, and others play supporting roles.
Vijay Rajendiran (played by Vijay) is the third and youngest son of Rajendiran (Sarathkumar). He stays away from home after a tiff with his father but circumstances force him to take up his father's multi-million business ahead of his elder brothers. How he manages to smoothen the strained relationships in his big joint family, as well as tackle the business enemies forms the rest of the film.
After two consecutive films where he portrayed roles with mental health issues like trauma in Beast and depression in Master, Vijay returns to the over-the-top zone with Varisu and the decision seems to be a smart one. It is often said that Telugu cinema directors understand the emotions of the mass audiences really well. And director Vamshi definitely seems to have cracked the code.
While the film chooses to settle in the family drama template like Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo it is self-aware completely, and that ends up as one of the biggest positives. It aids the film's humour quotient and that is bolstered further by Vijay's comedic timing. In the emotional scenes, stunts, and comedic scenes, he makes acting seem like a cakewalk. It's all so effortless.
Vijay's charm, screen presence, and charisma make us look past the flaws in the film's screenplay. His dance moves set the theatres on fire, the action sequences are stylish, and there are a lot of cute moments spread all over. But all this is only till a certain point. The second half surges ahead with Vijay's rise as the boss but the screenplay starts lagging with unnecessary plot points cropping up.
Among the other actors, Yogi Babu scores almost every time he's on screen. Jayasudha and Sarathkumar as Vijay's mother and father get memorable roles as well. Rashmika's character could have been written more meaty. Shaam and Srikanth shine as Ajay and Jai - Vijay's siblings.
Thaman's music takes time to settle in, and the loud nature of the background score blends well as the film progresses. A couple of songs hinder the film's pace. KL Praveen's cuts and Karthik Palani's cinematography add good values to make the film technically solid.
Overall the film has all elements to end up as a pucca family entertainer and a Pongal feast. Vijay's comic sense stands out and is the backbone of the film. It does have a few flaws but at the end of the day, when you look at the film as a theatrical experience, it is worth your money and time. The boss returns. In style.

'Varisu' movie review: An in-form Vijay elevates this family drama
Right from the posters and trailer to the pre-release interviews, everything about Varisu clearly indicated a formulaic family drama. This would have sounded like a foolproof plan a few years ago. But in 2023, an A-list actor sticking to this template isn’t the most exciting idea.
But director Vamshi Paidipally and Co have given this age-old recipe a refreshing twist by adding an ample dose of self-awareness and humour. Largely, the film knows when to take itself seriously and when not to. Take, for example, the scene where Meka Srikanth tries to throw a monologue on the divinity of family and love. Before we roll our eyes or take a dig at the cliche, we hear a burst of loud laughter... not from the fans but from the screen. It is Vijay who echoes the mind of the audience, and says, “Edhuku ipo avan kitta sentiment RR music ellam pottutu iruka nee?” Bingo! A potential ‘content’ for meme creators dodged thanks to the witty writing.
The writers of Varisu don’t stop there. They make Vijay mouth dialogues like, “Indha sondhakaranga naale toxic dhaan pa!” in a film that paradoxically talks about the importance of family. Of course, this translates to occasional tonal inconsistencies, but an in-form Vijay and the self-awareness of the film make up for the shortcomings. Throughout the narrative, we see Vijay (who plays... Vijay!) transforming from an ambitious Harvard graduate to a globe-trotter, and then from a start-up founder to a business tycoon. While this arc isn’t quite novel for a ‘commercial hero’, it is exciting to see Vijay slip into these roles with consummate ease.
The film is peppered with references from his previous blockbusters. There is the knuckle-busting action from Thuppakki, the thumb-rubbing from Ghilli, and the open-arm entrance from Sarkar. Aside from the obvious call back to Poove Unakkaga, the film also drops enjoyable, quick references to the goat sacrifice scene in Thirupachi, the western-classical dance face-off in Pudhiya Geethai and Oh Baby song from Kadhalukku Mariyadhai.
Interestingly, Varisu which was widely speculated to retain the soul of blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, has its very own riotous boardroom scene, where the hero goes all filmy. But Vamshi does it with a rather tasteful twist. The film provides ample space for Vijay to be at his comical best. Whenever Vijay goes a bit overboard with his antics, Yogi Babu pitches in with his sarcasm, once again turning the stretch into effective humour.
Known for his onscreen monologues, it is nice to see Vijay move away from sermoning despite playing a messiah again. Instead, Vijay embraces silence and allows his physical performance to do the talking. One particular instance where this facet is pronounced is his confrontation scene with Sarathkumar’s Rajendran. In a scene with the potential to become a long-winding exchange of dialogues, Vijay delivers it all with just a look in his eyes and walks away.
However, Varisu isn’t completely devoid of the ‘Kudumbam na...’ messages, and the film does occasionally become preachy. But, thankfully these stretches aren’t painfully long and never come across as moral policing assignments. However, what becomes painful and preachy is the contradictions in the ideologies. At one point, the makers don’t judge or gaslight a woman who wants to move out of a marriage with an adulterer. At one other point, the resolution to this broken marriage is conventional, convenient, and contrived. It almost undoes the goodness of the initial pro-choice angle when it came to divorce and separation. Also, there is a fleeting but completely unnecessary body-shaming scene that is distasteful.
If the novelty of the story is your yardstick to gauge a film, Varisu might not rank high. It has plot points and ideas liberally borrowed from Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Dharma Durai, and more. Despite the narrative being predictable, it is the conviction of filmmaker Vamshi and the honest performances of the lead cast that elevates Varisu from being just another run-of-the-mill family drama.
The film in a way is the story of Rajendran, a self-absorbed man seeking redemption and peace; and Sarathkumar ably shoulders the gloominess that comes along with the character, almost making up for his animated performance in the raging sequences. Jayasudha probably can pull off a mother longing for love even in her sleep. But the actor goes on to show why she is still the best fit for such roles. Though the camaraderie between Rajendran and Anantha Padmanaban (Prabhu) helps in making the core want of the protagonist effective, Prabhu has very less to offer otherwise.
Similarly, I would have loved to see more of Rashmika Mandanna and definitely more layers to her character in the film. Seeing a female lead without a clear want or a profession is quite unsettling. The random appearance of “Indha paadalai paadi kondirupavar ungal Vijay” quote in 1995’s Vishnu, is probably one of the oddest yet most memorable fourth-wall-breaking moments of Tamil cinema. Fast-forwarding two decades, we have another V film having a couple of interesting fourth-wall-breaking moments. The best among them is Vijay casually taking a dig at family dramas while making a confident statement. “Starting nala iruku, ending nala iruku, nadula konjam emotions iruku, avlo dhaan podhum! Kudumbangal kondadum vettri!” Well, it is safe to say that he isn’t overconfident!

Varisu review: Vijay lends life to this otherwise cliched storyline

Telugu director Vamshi Paidipally is debuting in Tamil with Thalapathy Vijay-starrer Varisu ( Varasudu in Telugu) today, 11 January. Here’s our review of the much-anticipated movie of this Pongal season:
To make sure that he has the right successor for the family business, Rajendran (Sarathkumar) pits his sons against each other. His elder sons Jai (Srikanth) and Ajay (Shaam) have their eyes on the chairpersonship.
However, Rajendran’s third son Vijay chooses to stay away from the chairmanship as he differs from his father’s ideology and modes of operation.
But Vijay is declared the successor to Rajendran after the latter sees his elder sons for who they really are. The second half deals with what happens next.
Overtly dramatic and predictable
Varisu starts like a Vikraman’s version of Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (2018) but in a Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham (2001) backdrop.
It has many problems: Right from the TV serial kind of makeup and drama in the first half to the dreamy Bollywood/Karan Johar kind of massive sets and, of course, the exhausting runtime (2 hours 50 minutes)!
The film is predictable in every frame. It is neither self-contained nor original.
Vijay’s one-man show
But, guess what? Even with all these issues, Varisu still works. For, Vijay carries the film like Atlas carries the Earth on his shoulders for all eternity.
Vijay as Vijay Rajendran is perfect to the T. He lends life to the otherwise cliched storyline.
He is in outstanding form. He looks super, his costumes are fabulous, he dances like a river flow, trolls his own dialogues, and he does comedy and emotional scenes well.
In a nutshell, this is a one-man show. The major strength of this movie is in how damn likeable Vijay is.
You guys have nooooo idea how excited I am about this one! 🥰 https://t.co/7IrUXmBKmL pic.twitter.com/lGjOPbFZhm — Rashmika Mandanna (@iamRashmika) January 4, 2023
Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna in a still from ‘Varisu’. (Twitter)
Thaman rocks it
Other than Vijay, two more things work in favour of Varisu : Music composer Thaman S and comedian Yogi Babu.
Thaman does a brilliant job as a music director. The background score is sometimes loud but perfect for the respective scenes. He elevates many scenes with dynamic soundtracks.
Yogi Babu’s comedy timing is superb and keeps us entertained all through. In fact, every time he appears on screen, we hear the audience bursting into laughter.
Actors’ performances
Srikanth as Jai, Shaam as Ajay and Sarathkumar as Rajendran are good.
Jayasudha is also good as a mother who struggles between a corporate husband and power-hungry sons.
Rashmika Mandanna does not have much to do but is good at whatever she got. She doesn’t go overboard. Others are okayish.
Do watch out for the “ Soul of Varisu ” and “ Ranjithamee ” songs besides the voting scene at the company.

Grandeur everywhere
Director Vamshi Paidipally does what he knows well: Bringing grandeur into everything.
A jam-packed theatre at Ram Mathruam Cinemas in South Tamil Nadu where ‘Varisu’ is being screened. (RamCinemas/Twitter)
For example, the villain comes in a helicopter instead of an SUV, and Rajendran’s family stays in Mysore palace in the name of a house, a function bigger than the wedding of Ravi Pillai’s daughter!
However, Vamshi did a laudable job by beautifully presenting Vijay’s loveable character. He also wins by giving back-to-back theatre moments in the second half.
The comedy one-liners in the melodrama scenes help Varisu from not becoming too melodramatic. With a lesser runtime, it would have worked even better.
The cinematography is really good. The computer graphics works could have been better.
Varisu works like a tribute to Thalapathy Vijay and it is exactly what the trailer promised. The second half is a crowd-pleaser. It’s silly, crazy, and entertaining, too, because the marvellous Vijay makes it work!

Varisu Movie Review: The Problem Isn’t Vijay Being The Best Thing About This Film, Problem Is He’s The Only Good Thing!
The major issue with this family drama is that it misses two important things: interesting family dynamics and impactful drama..
Star Cast: Vijay, Rashmika Mandanna, R. Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Shaam, Srikanth, Yogi Babu, Jayasudha
Director: Vamshi Paidipally
What’s Good: Vijay being Vijay!
What’s Bad: If you remove Vijay from Varisu, you’ll be left with nothing but an over-the-top family drama stuck in the 90s
Loo Break: Whenever there comes a scene without Vijay
Watch or Not?: Only if you’re a Vijay fan, that too, whenever it releases digitally
Available On: Theatrical Release
Runtime: 167 Minutes
Rajendran (R. Sarathkumar) is a billionaire dad to 3 sons Jai (Srikanth) Ajay (Shaam) & Vijay (Vijay) and if you’ve seen 90s family dramas, you already know the youngest son is the ‘khota sikka’ who brings together the rest of the toxic family. Similarly, Vijay rejects his father’s luxurious empire but, after 7 years is called back by his mother to attend a family function.
There he gets to know about how crumbled his family has been without him, and he decides to stay back helping his father to win back his lost sons. Oh, also, cross-checking another cliched family drama trope is the father has to have some life-threatening disease. How else do you think everyone else will realize what family is? Only after the one who started it dies trying to make you realise the same. It’s all about bringing every family member together and staying happily ever after (without papa!).
Varisu Movie Review: Script Analysis
Letting the story stand tall on the heroic presence of Vijay , script-writers somehow tend to forget to make things intriguing & take shortcuts like relying solely on the lead actor charming his way in. After a point of time, even Salman Khan failed to achieve the same in Bollywood and it seems Vijay has taken the same route. Vamshi Paidipally, Hari, Ashishor Solomon’s story is a poorly rehashed and mashed-up version of every 90s family drama ever.
To enrapture the viewers with this castle of a house, Karthik Palani’s camerawork overcompensates at places with too many angles jerking the scenes. The cinematography is decent otherwise, especially capturing the hand combat sequences’ brilliant action choreography by Dhilip Subbarayan. Praveen K. L’s editing does no help in keeping the pace at a desired speed for such a dragging & predictable story.
Varisu Movie Review: Star Performance
Vijay does what he does best but yet again in a film whose story isn’t qualified enough to handle his ‘mass’. The problem isn’t him being the best thing about the film, but the actual problem is he’s the only good thing about the film. His dance, his actions, and his antiques are all perfectly fine but they don’t find the right ‘home’ in this family drama.
Rashmika Mandanna continues to sign the flower pot actress roles & this ain’t much different. Staying in the story without creating any impact on it apart from looking good and dancing well, is something actresses should really refrain from doing. It’s 2023! To be fair to all, every other actor in the cast apart from Vijay is a flower pot actor in this film.
R. Sarathkumar as Vijay’s father doesn’t get much to do to build the emotions in the father-son bond, and the same goes for Jayasudha playing his mother. Vijay, in a scene, mimics Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic index finger waving pose from K3G but that worked purely because of Karan Johar’s rightly dramatic direction.
Prakash Raj as a villain is of no use, not a single scene of him will make you feel terrified for Vijay. Shaam & Srikanth as Vijay’s brothers are just to form a toxic family, both don’t really invoke any ‘bhaichara’ emotions to intrigue the viewers. Yogi Babu continues to be the routine cliched comic relief he has been in such Tamil films.
Varisu Movie Review: Direction, Music
Vamshi Paidipally had everything at his disposal, a bankable star, a decent cast, money-making genre but the only thing he missed churning out was a justifiable story. I had a similar issue with Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo as well but that one still had a good music album.
Thaman S has composed the album for this one with only Jimikki Ponnu being the bearable track because of Vijay’s performance & the music. Even the songs get monotonous coming across like they were the only options to the makers for keeping the viewers somewhat interested in the film.
Varisu Movie Review: The Last Word
All said and done, the major issue about Vijay’s family drama is it misses two important things: interesting family and impactful drama. Beast, despite all its flaws, was a superior project to this one.

Varisu Review – Cut & Paste Family Template
OUR RATING 2.25/5
CENSOR 2h 50m, U Certified.
How Vijay , the reluctant heir, returns to save the empire from the rival’s clutches? What he did do for the family forms the movie’s overall plot.
Performances Vijay continues his glorious on-screen presence in Varisu . He sports cool casuals with a fresh prince vibe that perfectly suits the movie’s role. His star aura is the single reason one sits through the film. The dances are also fine considering the age. Then there are action and comedy moments which he aces in his usual style. While there is nothing memorable or outstanding work here, it is enough within the predictable premise.
Rashmika, on the other hand, is a mere flower pot role. She mainly appears in the songs, has a few scenes with the hero in the first half and disappears later. Rashmika looks fab in the songs, though, glamour-wise, and is an asset in that department.
Right from the opening, there is no ounce of originality in the movie. The director sticks to his strengths and narrates the utterly familiar tale with conviction or rather follows the formula to the T without any deviations.
The entire first half is an elaborate setup of the king, kingdom, and family. Only here is a large corporate design, a big mansion and so on. Then there is the prince in exile who comes as the rightful heir at the right time. The whole thing is done in detail, much to the audience’s chagrin. The slow pace is an issue.
Vijay and his typical screen presence as a star hold the attention all through. There is a fine mix of the boy next door and superhero simultaneously in him that works for the narrative. It also helps that there is a history that fans could connect to bringing back the vintage memories.
The second half, too, follows the template out and out. But what makes it slightly better than the first one is some fan-pleasing moments and action thrown in between. Again, nothing is new, and we have seen it all before, but Vijay makes them work with charm and ease.
The action and dance neatly punctuate the proceedings at the right moment and keeps things flowing without too much drag. Still, the sheer predictability makes the whole narrative feel lengthy. The brother’s track and sentiment etc., belong to this category.
After all the predictability, the climax is neatly wrapped with a family message. It makes one leave with a positive frame even though there is hardly anything new or unexpected here.
Overall, Varisu is that utterly predictable and template-driven film that still manages to survive due to the hero and some commercial elements within the standard setup. If you don’t mind the utter routineness and want to watch something with your family for the festival, Varisu is the option. Otherwise, stay away.
The problem is the repetitiveness with the cast here. We have seen them do the same role many times before. Take Jayasudha and Prakash Raj, for example. They feel like they are sleepwalking through the part, sporting different dresses. Only Srikanth and Shyam offer some relief, especially the latter, with a bit of negative shade. But this, too, is only mild and doesn’t register overall. The rest of the cast, too, fit into the stock characters.
Karthik Palani’s cinematography is neat. Some parts do look overdone concerning the richness. It results in artificiality, but otherwise, there is nothing to complain about. Praveen KL’s editing could be crispier. Things are too slow and feel very lengthy, on the whole. The writing is reasonable, considering the template in place.
Highlights? Vijay’s Presence Couple Of Songs Action Blocks
Drawbacks? Utterly Routine Premise Hackneyed Narration Repetitive Supporting Cast

Final Report:
Vijay is the saving grace in the utterly routine and tried and tested formulaic fare Varisu. Despite all the deficiencies, his presence and songs could help the movie float the extended festive weekend in TN.
First Half Report:
Varisu has a decades-old plot taking us back to NTR and ANR days. It is utterly predictable and lacks strong conflict. Vijay makes a difference with his breezy presence; additionally, colourful songs make things bearable.
— Varisu show started with a business deal and a big family. The story slips into family clashes and business fights.

Vamshi Paidipally, Hari and Ahishor Solomon have written a story of the kind which used to be in vogue in the 1980s and 1990s. The incidents in the family drama are all of the kind one has seen in films of a bygone era. The trios screenplay is slow-paced as well as predictable. Nothing, therefore, comes as a shocker. The resolution also does not warm the cockles of the heart because it seems to be too hurried. On the whole, Varisu is an ordinary fare and will do very ordinary business at the turnstiles because it offers nothing new or fresh.

While the media-shy Vijay Sir can easily charm his devoted fan base with Varisu featuring action, dance sequences and masterful punch dialogues customised to feed his star image, it isn’t too hard to see the hypocrisy behind the humbling man who calls himself his own competitor even in real life. It really doesn’t matter how I view this movie because this is a film written for an audience that thrives on Vijay’s stardom and it satisfies them thoroughly.

From advocating sticking to family no matter how toxic they are (and we mean toxic in the level of an attempted murder), to sending goons flying as a manner of conflict resolution in business, actor Vijay’s latest outing Varisu is everything that its trailer promised it would be. And with it, the actor manages to deliver a tried and tested drama, which €” while highly predictable €” still manages to entertain the audience.
Ratings: 3.5/5 Review By: Suganth Site:Times Of India
If there are slip-ups in the form of a rather slight romantic track, and less-than-formidable villains, the film makes up for all of it through its leading star. Vijay is in terrific form, cracking one-liners that have us break out into a smile, make self-referential punches and show earnestness in the sentimental moments.
Ratings: 3/5 Review By: Latha Site:India Today
Vijay choosing to do this family entertainer is not surprising given that he likes to change gears ever so often and, in this film, he has acted, danced and fought his heart out throughout the film. And director Vamshi Padaipally has ensured that the movie is packed with plenty of family sentiment, action, romance and comedy to cater to Vijay fans and the audience. Vijays cute guy meets tough businessman characterisation takes some getting used to as weve not seen him in such a role play in a long time.

Overall the film has all elements to end up as a pucca family entertainer and a Pongal feast. Vijay’s comic sense stands out and is the backbone of the film. It does have a few flaws but at the end of the day, when you look at the film as a theatrical experience, it is worth your money and time. The boss returns. In style.
Ratings: 3.25/5 Review By: Siddarth Site:OnlyKollywood
Varisu is far from being a perfect entertainer that gets everything right. But yes, the film treats itself scene by scene, and perfects out what the fans want and also what the families want. A Vijay film coming in such a package is definitely worth a visit to the theatre, say what.
Ratings: 2.5/5 Review By: MovieCrow Site:Movie Crow
A light-hearted film that could have been related if it had been executed well, Thanks to Vijay and Thaman, despite many issues, the film stays as a fairly watchable entertainer largely due to them.

List of New & Upcoming Movies of Rashmika Mandanna
By Rohan Verma
Rashmika Mandanna has become the talk of the town ever since the launch of her film Animal, which shattered box office records upon its release on December 1, 2023. While the actress has already given the cinema industry blockbuster films, fans eagerly await her upcoming projects, which promise to keep the momentum going.
Reportedly, Rashmika is gearing up for exciting projects, including Pushpa 2, Animal Park, and more. As for the uninitiated, Rashmika Mandanna’s filmography has a lot to be explored.
Varisu, starring Rashmika and Vijay in the lead roles, made its theatrical debut in 2023, coinciding with the Pongal festival. It features a stellar cast, including R Sarathkumar, Srikanth, Shaam, Prabhu, and others in significant roles. Moreover, National Award winner Vamshi Paidpally directed the film, which Sri Venkateswara Creations produced in collaboration with PVP Cinema.
Varisu revolves around three brothers competing to become the rightful heir to their father’s business empire. Currently, Varisu is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi versions.
The 2022 romantic drama received positive reviews from both critics and audiences upon its release. Alongside Rashmika Mandanna, the cast also includes Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, Sumanth, and others in pivotal roles.
The movie’s synopsis on Prime Video reads, “Afreen, a rebellious Pakistani student sets ablaze the car of an Indian in London. Refused to apologize, Afreen is asked to return 1 Million in 1 month. Angered Afreen comes back to Pakistan to get the money from her grandfather. The late grandfather assigns a letter-delivering task to Afreen, written by Ram to Sita. Afreen sets out to find Ram and gradually unveils the story of Sita and Ram.”
Animal Part 1 & 2
Following the immense success of Animal, Rashmika Mandanna is set to star in its highly anticipated sequel titled Animal Park. Reportedly, the production team plans to commence shooting in 2025. Despite facing criticism for its misogynistic and adult content, the first installment of the film garnered significant box office success.
The first installment revolves around the son of a wealthy industrialist who seeks vengeance after his father is attacked. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film features a star-studded cast — Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri, Shakti Kapoor, and others in supporting roles. For enthusiasts of action-packed movies, Animal Park will be available to stream on Netflix.
Pushpa 1 & 2
On Rashmika’s birthday, Pushpa 2 makers unveiled a new poster featuring her character, Srivalli. The highly anticipated sequel will hit theatres on August 15, 2024. Adding to the excitement, the makers also released a glimpse of Allu Arjun in the Gangamma look.
The first installment, directed by Sukumar, was released on December 17, 2021. It grossed approximately $47 million at the box office. This time, Allu Arjun will reprise his lead role in the sequel. Fans can catch the first installment on Prime Video to prepare for the upcoming sequel.
In addition to this list, Rashmika Mandanna will star in several other projects, such as The Girlfriend, Kubera, Chaava, and VNR Trio. As anticipation builds, fans eagerly await further updates and surprises from the makers leading to these theatrical releases.
