How F1âs new mandatory car âshow-and-tellsâ will work
The new âshow-and-tellâ display that Formula 1 teams will be obliged to take part in this season will include public car presentations before practice and after qualifying.
F1 weekend schedules are shifting this year to take away one âofficialâ day of activity at the track, with scrutineering and driver press conferences moved to Friday morning and practice shifting slightly later to accommodate that.
There was originally going to be a requirement for teams to present a reference specification alongside initial scrutineering, which they could then adjust in Friday practice â to trial new parts for future events â before returning to the reference specification before the start of final practice.
Though this has been dropped from the new sporting regulations, it has been replaced in a different form as part of the process outlining a presentation that F1 managing director of motorsport Ross Brawn has referred to as a âshow-and-tellâ.
There will be a requirement for teams to present their cars to the media before practice begins and again after qualifying.
For what is being officially termed the âpre-event automobile displayâ, teams will provide a summary document to the FIA listing âthe name and brief description of all major aerodynamic and bodywork components and assembliesâ that have not been run on a previous weekend or official test session.
The FIA and F1 will define the requirements for what teams must disclose at this point.
Each team has to make both cars available outside their designated garage area for a period up to one hour, starting no later than 90 minutes before FP1 begins.
The cars must be ânominally complete and fitted with all major aerodynamic and bodywork components that are intended to be usedâ when they go on track for the first time in FP1.
Exceptions to taking part in this display will be permitted with prior written permission from the race director.
On Saturday, half an hour after qualifying finishes and for a period of up to one hour, one car from five different teams will be identified by the race director and technical delegate and must be made available for a âpost-qualifying automobile displayâ.
A senior technical or sporting representative must be available for at least 10 minutes, at which point they will need to detail âall major aerodynamic and bodywork component updatesâ made since Friday morning.
Last year, Brawn told media including The Race: “We’re pushing on with initiatives to get greater engagement and a greater insight into what’s happening.
âThe teams will explain the changes they’ve made for that weekend and they’ll declare to the FIA the changes they’ve made.
“It will create another nuance and other interest in the sport, because the technical side of the sport is quite fascinating to a lot of fans.”

George Russell explains his Williams F1 PowerPoint presentation
New williams formula 1 signing george russell has explained some of the details he put in the microsoft powerpoint presentation he made in a bid to impress the team.
Williams technical chief Paddy Lowe revealed earlier this month that Formula 2 points leader Russell pushed to land a race seat with the team a year ago, which included making a presentation about what he could offer if he was signed.
Speaking in an exclusive interview filmed at Autosport's UK offices, Russell explained that his motivation was to approach his pitch for a drive "from a different angle" to get Williams's attention.

why f1 is the hardest sport in the world:
- Physical fitness. The most common misconception around Formula 1 drivers is that they are not really athletes all they do it sit down and just turn a steering wheel left and right as a lifelong fan of this sport it is probably the most frstranting and annoying stereotype portrayed about drivers.F1 drivers spend a large portion of their lives sitting in a car steering left and right but they are some of the most complete athetes in all the world.
- Mental fitness. What separetes the good athletes from the great ones is an ability to handle and excel under immense mental stress and pressure. The mind of Formula 1 driver is simething along the lines of a really expensive computer with a super fast hard drive.Their abilities to process information at such high speeds and then react at tenths of the seconds is quite remarkable. This is another reason why f1 is the hardestsport in the world
When a car driving in the wet,the tyres get rid of 250 liters of water per second-enough to fill a large both.
- The average cost of an F1 car is $6.3 million.
- Aprox.80,000 components come toghether to make an F1 car.
- The rapid deceleration of an F1 car can be compared to a regular car driving though a brick wall at a speed of around 185 mph.
- An F1 car can accelerate from 0 to 100 mph and decelerate back to 0 in just four seconds.
- The brake discs can reach 1000 deagrees centigrade...the same temperature as molten lava.
- F1 cars can corner up to 3 Gs and brake up to 5 Gs.More then a Space Shuttle.

There are only three sports:Bullfighting,Motor racing, and Mountaineering; all the rest are merely games.
If you make a mistake in a football match or a basketball game your team might lose or you might a benched in formula 1 however if you makea mistake or your car is mechanical issue it could lead to searious physical harm of not just yourself but competitors track marshals and possibly spectators as well .There really are only few sports in this world where the competitors are legitimately putting their lives on the line every time they suit up compete formula 1 is one of those sports and thankfully the safety improvements over the last couple of decades has seen the danger aspect largely mitigated but it is also because of these safety improvements that we often forget the danger of formula 1 racing.
