The Writing Coach Experience

Employment Options to Fit Your Lifestyle

Our Coaches tend to be people with busy lives—maybe you’re a teacher, parent, grad student, or pursuing a career in the arts while working several freelance jobs. We provide three different employment options for you to choose from—each comes with its own monthly stipend, income guarantee, and hourly expectations. When you submit your Prompt application, you’ll be asked to select the option that works best for you and your lifestyle. Click here for more details about our writing coach employment options.

Meaningful Work

Our Writing Coaches provide generative, insightful, and educational written feedback on college admissions materials. In addition to their written feedback, the majority of our Writing Coaches offer one-on-one video calls with students. You will form constructive and impactful relationships with young writers at a pivotal time in their lives, and you will empower them not only to refine their writing skills, but to understand what makes them unique and compelling as college applicants.

Flexibility

We will assign you a number of essays every day based on the employment option you choose and your available hours. But, when, where, and how much you work is up to you (within some general guidelines). All you have to do is complete your assigned essays each day.

Professional Development

Prompt’s writing coaches are the best admissions essay coaches in the world. This is because we offer comprehensive training and ongoing professional development in the forms of one-on-one coaching and collaborative, instructional webinars. You’ll learn from Prompt staff, experienced Prompt Writing Coaches, and your fellow new Coaches.

We offer flexible start dates between June and August, and all of our Coaches work through the beginning of February. After the college admissions season, we have additional work opportunities, including running essay bootcamps for high schools.

Writing Coach Pay

  • Hourly Pay:  $25 per hour for new Coaches, with tenure-based raises after your first year
  • Essay Reviews.  Written feedback is paid on a per essay basis, meaning you’ll receive a set payment for each review based on the time Prompt expects the review to take—we use data from our hundreds of current and former Writing Coaches to determine the estimated editing time for each review. For example, a first draft of a Common Application Essay has a typical editing time of 48 minutes, so a new coach would earn $20 (0.8 hours X $25 per hour).
  • Video Calls.  Students can schedule video calls with you based on your availability. You’ll earn $40 per 50-minute call, including prep and quick follow-up actions.
  • Monthly Stipend.  Your stipend covers non-editing work such as professional development and reading/responding to Slack messages or emails.
  • Bootcamps.  We run facilitated small group essay bootcamps for high schools and other groups. You’ll have the opportunity to help facilitate and lead these bootcamps.
  • Bonuses.  During our peak times (e.g., October), you may be eligible for a bonus program for meeting certain goals.

Prompt’s Application and Paid Evaluation Process

First, you’ll fill out our application—it should take you between 20-30 minutes. There is an optional video component, which we highly recommend completing. Most Writing Coaches hold video calls with students, so we want to see you in action!

Passing applicants are sent a training course and a test essay. Then, we’ll review your test essay and determine whether you’ll advance to the final evaluation round. If you don’t pass your first test essay, we’ll compensate you $40.

The final step is to complete one more course and one more test essay. If you do not pass the second test essay, you’ll receive $80 for your time. If you do, you’ll be invited to make a Prompt account, where your first paycheck—$100—will be waiting for you!

Note: We do not compensate applicants who ask to be removed from consideration or fail to submit a test essay within a reasonable amount of time.

Prompt’s Hiring Practices

At Prompt, we aim to help students of all backgrounds and abilities achieve their goals. We’re also committed to an inclusive environment among our Writing Coaches and our full-time staff. Being thought leaders in our field is only possible through the diverse and valued perspectives of our team, and we happily welcome applicants of all backgrounds, including gender identity, sexuality, disability, age, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, race, nationality, religion, and culture.

  • How to dig deeper and show self-reflection and insight

  • Write or rewrite content for you

If you have any questions, feel free to email [email protected].

Yes! Our essay coaches can help you reduce your word count by up to 25%. You can choose to receive this feedback through direct edits or suggestions in comments – just select your choice when you upload your essay.

When you submit your essay to our College Essay Editing & Coaching service, you’ll be asked to indicate what type of content feedback you would like to receive. You can choose from three options:

Dig deep and challenge me

Give me the standard treatment

Tread lightly

Whichever option you choose, you’ll receive in-depth content feedback from your essay coach. However, the type of feedback your essay coach provides may differ, and the option you should choose depends on what outcome you want from the review. You can always elaborate on what type of feedback you want in your note to your essay coach.

Learn more about the three options below.

Choose from three options

If you choose this option, we’ll challenge you to write the best possible essay – no content suggestions are off-limits, including reorienting your topic or reframing your story. Students who choose this option aren’t afraid to go back to the drawing board if it’ll increase their chances of getting accepted. You may have to roll up your sleeves and do some more work on your essay, but your essay will be much stronger because of it.

Select this option if your priority is to have the best possible essay, even if it requires some extra work on your side.

We’ll strike a balance between “dig deep and challenge me” and “tread lightly.” We may suggest changes to your structure and narrative, including removing weak content, elaborating on certain sections, and adding content to strengthen your arguments. You may have to rework sentences and paragraphs, but we won’t suggest major content changes.

With this option, we’ll focus on improving your essay in a way that requires little additional work from you. We’ll provide you with targeted suggestions for how to refine your essay’s structure and narrative, but we will work within your current structure and topic. While you may have to make a few tweaks here and there, we’ll aim to return you a polished draft that’s ready to be submitted to your chosen colleges.

Select this option if you are fairly satisfied with your essay and don’t want to make major changes or if you have limited time to revise.

At Scribbr, we promise to make every customer 100% happy with the service we offer. Our philosophy: Your complaint is always justified – no denial, no doubts.

Looking for apartments for buying in russia.

Choosing the neighborhood of your future residence is a task to be treated with diligence. Poor transport accessibility, a lacking infrastructure and unsatisfactory ecological parameters may noticeably dampen the joy a new property owner is sure to feel from their purchase. To help you avoid such a scenario, we have put together a short overview of the areas in Moscow where you may be considering the purchase of a home , complete with the pros and cons of each of the different locations:

Arbat District – the cultural and business center of Moscow. One of the most prestigious locations in the capital. It boasts a very good infrastructure and high transport accessibility. Unsurprisingly, the property costs here are the highest in Moscow. Despite its small size, the district contains around 10% of all of the capital’s new elite residential buildings, and apartments for sale make up 96% of the properties on the market in this neighborhood. The price of a square meter (3.28 sqft) for an apartment in a new building with penthouses is, on average, 12 000 USD, while the cost of the same in an old building is 9 000 USD. One can even find luxury condos with open terraces for sale in the area.

Kuntsevo District – a beautiful locality surrounded by vast areas of woodland and river beaches on the banks of Moskva River. A strong point of this neighborhood is its good environmental conditions. Brand new and modern residential compounds have been erected here. One square meter (3.28 sqft) of an apartment in a new housing complex in Kuntsevo District currently costs 3 000 USD.

Cozy russian apartment for sale in Moscow

Yakimanka District – one of the most interesting and prestigious areas of Moscow by popular opinion. It is packed full of well-known historic monuments, museums and large parks. The Yakimanka District changed drastically during the Soviet era: most of the centuries-old low-rise houses and mansions were completely demolished or restructured. By the beginning of the 1990’s, new residential and public complexes had already taken their place. Today, one can find condos for sale in Yakimanka’s new residential complexes for the average price of 11 000 USD per square meter (3.28 sqft). The price of a square meter in a Soviet era panel building is 4 000 USD.

Here in Russia’s capital we have our own skyscrapers – grouped together in the compound famously dubbed Moscow-City (the Moscow International Business Center). Many large corporations have their headquarters here. For 1 million US dollars you can purchase a 3-room apartment with a floor area of 607 sqft (185 m²) in one of the towers. This particular listing is located on the 25 th floor.

Where Can I Find Cheap Flats?

If you happen to be a student or if your budget is capped at 300 000 USD and you are looking for cheap condos for sale in Moscow, then the Mitino, Nekrasovka, Cheryomushki, Butovo and Novogireyevo Districts will best suit your needs. These neighborhoods each contain a great number of residential complexes inhabited by Moscow’s middle class. They also have everything one might need for a comfortable life: many schools, kindergartens, big supermarkets, public pools, hospitals, etc. One of Moscow’s Metro stations is also usually just a short walk away. The minimum price of a furnished studio flat in a location within the Moscow Ring Road (a.k.a. MKAD) is currently 100 000 USD.

Nets coaching search zeroes in on Mike Budenholzer and 2 other candidates as finalists: Sources

Milwaukee Bucks championship coach Mike Budenholzer, Sacramento Kings associate head coach Jordi Fernandez and Phoenix Suns associate head coach Kevin Young are among the finalists for the Brooklyn Nets coaching job, league sources told The Athletic .

Nets owner Joe Tsai is holding in-person finalist meetings with all three, and a final decision is looming in the near future, those sources said.

Nets general manager Sean Marks and Tsai embarked on a coaching search after parting ways with Jacque Vaughn on Feb. 19 and have interviewed an extensive list of candidates.

Sources briefed on the matter said interim coach Kevin Ollie has been considered as part of the Nets’ process, along with several other coaches, including Miami Heat assistant Chris Quinn and New Orleans Pelicans associate head coach James Borrego, but the organization has honed in on new candidates as finalists for the full-time job.

Ollie was named the interim Nets coach on Feb. 20 and has compiled an 11-16 record heading into Sunday’s regular-season finale at Philadelphia. He was also interviewed as part of the process and met with Tsai, according to league sources.

Armed with a talented two-way player in Mikal Bridges, future draft picks and salary cap space and flexibility in Brooklyn, the Nets have been an appealing proposition to prospective candidates.

Budenholzer has compiled a 484-317 (.604) record across 10 seasons coaching in Atlanta (2013-18) and Milwaukee (2018-23), leading the Bucks to the 2021 NBA title. He is a two-time NBA Coach of the Year award winner; for the Hawks in 2015 and the Bucks in 2019.

Fernandez and Young are considered two of the brightest assistant coaches in the NBA and have both been serious candidates in previous head coaching searches.

Since becoming the Nets’ GM in 2016, Marks has hired Kenny Atkinson, Steve Nash and Vaughn to the full-time coaching job.

Kalen DeBoer showing why he was 'the guy' for Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Kalen DeBoer called the entire day "special," and as Alabama wrapped up its first spring practice with DeBoer as coach in its annual A-Day Game, his players said they can't wait to see what's next.

Quarterback Jalen Milroe and offensive guard Tyler Booker both said the positivity, confidence and energy that DeBoer and the new coaching staff have exhibited since their arrival has been exactly what the program needed with Nick Saban calling it quits after his legendary coaching career.

Booker has yet to see his new coach flinch from the time he first met with the team.

"That's why he was the right guy for the job," Booker said. "I feel like whoever took this job had to have heart because they knew who they were succeeding after Coach Saban. So just to be able to have the wherewithal to take this job and have the pride to do so ... he had my respect. Anybody who took this job would have my respect.

"He just continues to earn it and continues to prove why he was the guy for this job."

A crowd of 72,358 turned out Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium for DeBoer's debut in an offense-versus-defense scrimmage that saw the offense build a 31-0 lead and then hold on for a 34-28 victory in a specially designed scoring system. Saban, who watched the game from a suite with his family, attended the A-Day Walk of Fame ceremony before the game and joked, "I'm one of you. I'm one of the fans now."

DeBoer had Saban speak to the team for the first time this spring, and while DeBoer has been keenly focused on his team, he acknowledged that it "really hit him" Saturday seeing the passion of the fans and soaking in everything that is Alabama football.

"I think today was probably the day where you just really felt it, seeing the guys come on the Walk of Champions, just seeing that and feeling the energy, the excitement of what it would be on a Saturday," DeBoer said. "That was a lot of fun, and being in the locker room, just the excitement.

"And I thought the guys, as hard as they were playing, they were out there looking out for each other, too. I don't care if it was offense or defense, but most importantly offense and defense playing the game the way it's supposed to be played and the energy wanting to go out there and make the plays, but also not putting the team at risk."

As DeBoer left the field, he stopped to sign autographs for fans reaching out from the stands and even took a selfie with a fan who handed the coach his phone.

"It's been special to have him here because of who he is as a person," Milroe said. "You want to play for a coach like this, how personal he is with us. He has power and reinforcement behind the criticism as far as getting us better and putting us in position to be successful. I'm super excited to play under Coach DeBoer because I've learned so much playing quarterback here with him because he's offensive-minded. So that's special for me to have a coach that's offensive-minded, and it's going to push me to be great and push me to be successful."

Milroe, who finished sixth in the Heisman Trophy voting last season, connected twice on big gains early in the scrimmage with transfer receiver Germie Bernard , who followed DeBoer from Washington. Bernard was dynamic after the catch, and Alabama is looking for playmakers at the receiver position after losing its top two receivers from a year ago, Isaiah Bond and Jermaine Burton .

"I think he had a great day," DeBoer said of Bernard. "I mean, you saw it right away. The one that stuck out to me was the catch in contact. He high-pointed the ball. ... That's what he does. He's a physical guy. If the ball's in the air, it's his. That's his mindset."

Milroe's mindset is that he's "starving" to take it to another level this season after accounting for 35 touchdowns last season and bouncing back from being benched in Week 3 against South Florida. He said the staff's confidence in him has made him even hungrier.

"There are some things I can get better at from last year, so each and every day I'm trying to get my best me every single time I come into the facility, and I'm challenged to do that each and every day," Milroe said. "I have goals that I've set for myself, short-term goals and long-term goals that I need to do to be the best quarterback in the country this season. So I'm passionate. I'm starving to be great, and it's going to come with preparation through this offseason."

Even though the offensive production waned during the second part of Saturday's scrimmage, DeBoer said one of the things he liked best about the spring was that the quarterbacks didn't throw any interceptions during scrimmages. He also liked what he saw from his three running backs -- Jam Miller , Justice Haynes and Richard Young . All three had impressive moments Saturday and were especially good after contact.

"I thought they did a better job of when they saw a hole today, they hit it and especially early on there were some seams, and they were not dancing, which means they're getting more and more comfortable with the schemes, trusting the offensive line," DeBoer said.

Miller, a junior, had a 48-yard gain and rushed for two touchdowns. Alabama's defense was playing without injured starters linebacker Jihaad Campbell and defensive tackle Jaheim Oatis , but DeBoer said they both would have been able to play if spring practice had lasted another week or two.

"This team is passionate to play for our family, passionate to play for the state of Alabama, passionate to play for Coach DeBoer and our coaching staff," Milroe said. "There are a lot of things we're playing for and excited for what Coach DeBoer has in store for us."

Former Bucks Coach Mike Budenholzer Among Finalists for Nets Job, per Report

  • Author: Tom Dierberger

Mike Budenholzer is in the running to get back into the NBA.

Budenholzer, who was dismissed by the Milwaukee Bucks last May, reportedly is among the finalists for the Brooklyn Nets' open head-coaching position. The Athletic's Shams Charania reported Saturday that Budenholzer, Sacramento Kings associate head coach Jordi Fernandez and Suns associate head coach Kevin Young are among those linked to be final candidates to fill the position.

Budenholzer led the Bucks for five seasons from 2018 to '23, compiling a 271–120 record and guiding Milwaukee to its second NBA championship in franchise history in 2021. He was dismissed from his duties last season after the Bucks secured the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, but fell in their first-round playoff series to the No. 8-seeded Miami Heat.

Fernandez, 41, is one of the most highly respected assistant coaches in basketball. He began his career as an assistant with the Denver Nuggets from 2016 to '22 and has served as the Kings' associate head coach under Mike Brown for the past two seasons.

Young, 42, has been with the Suns for the past three seasons as their associate head coach under Monty Williams and Frank Vogel. He began his coaching career with the Nuggets in 2016, working alongside Fernandez in Denver for six seasons.

The Nets fired coach Jacque Vaughn in February, 44 games into the 2023-24 campaign. Brooklyn was 21–33 at the time and are 11–16 under interim coach Kevin Ollie with one game remaining in the regular season.

Hall of Fame coach John Calipari makes stunning jump from Kentucky to Arkansas

essay coach jobs

In a major college basketball coaching shakeup, John Calipari is leaving the University of Kentucky to take over at SEC rival Arkansas, according to a person with knowledge of the deal.

The person spoke to USA TODAY's Dan Wolken on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

Calipari will receive a five-year contract to replace Eric Musselman, who exited Fayetteville to accept the job at Southern Cal .

Despite reaching the Final Four four times in five seasons from 2011-2015, Calipari's status at Kentucky seemed to be in jeopardy after the Wildcats lost to No. 14 seed Oakland in this year's NCAA Tournament. However, athletic director Mitch Barnhart appeared to put those questions to rest when he announced Calipari would return next year for a 16th season in Lexington.

Calipari, 65, has been to six Final Fours and been named Naismith coach of the year three times. He was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2015.

How long has John Calipari coached at Kentucky?

Calipari has been at Kentucky for the past 15 seasons. Over that span, his teams have posted a record of 410-122 (.771), winning six regular-season SEC titles, 12 NCAA Tournament appearances and a national title in 2012.

Calipari's overall college coaching record in 32 seasons at Massachusetts, Memphis and Kentucky is 813-260 (.758). He also spent three seasons as coach of the NBA's New Jersey Nets from 1996-99, compiling a 72-112 mark (.391).

Arkansas went 16-17 this year under Mussleman, the school's first losing season since 2010. The Razorbacks have just two players returning from that team, with seven players already applying for the transfer portal.

Kentucky basketball coaching history

Since the retirement of legendary coach Adolph Rupp (1930-1972), for whom the school's basketball arena is named, Kentucky has had just six head coaches for its men's basketball program.

  • Joe B. Hall (1972-1985) 297-100 (.748), 1 national championship (1978)
  • Eddie Sutton (1985-1989) 88-39 (.693)
  • Rick Pitino (1989-1997) 219-50 (.814), 1 national championship (1996)
  • Tubby Smith (1997-2007) 268-83 (.760), 1 national championship (1998)
  • Billy Gillespie (2007-2009) 40-27 (.597)
  • John Calipari (2009-2024) 410-122 (.771), 1 national championship (2012)

Julian love calls new seahawks head coach mike macdonald 'incredibly smart', share this article.

Defense has been a considerable concern for the Seahawks for several years now. Despite having a future Hall of Fame defensive minded coach in Pete Carroll, the defense has gotten a little worst for the past few seasons. This likely was the main factor in Seattle moving on from Carroll and rolling the dice with 36-year-old Mike Macdonald.

Macdonald’s defenses in Baltimore were ferocious and difficult to score on, despite not having a roster stacked with typical “A” names. His successes in Charm City helped land him a new job in the Emerald City.

So far, his new defenders are singing his praises. Starting safety Julian Love took to the media to express his already high opinion of his coach.

The Seahawks’ voluntary offseason workout program began Monday. Julian Love’s early impression of new coach Mike Macdonald? “I think he’s a good one. I think he’s incredibly smart. That comes across.” pic.twitter.com/e8lOD9Sogb — Brady Henderson (@BradyHenderson) April 10, 2024

Julian Love is not alone, as linebacker Uchenna Nwosu spoke his mind about his confidence in Coach Macdonald and the Seahawks’ chances in 2024.

Fixing Seattle’s defense – specifically the run defense – is easily Macdonald’s No. 1 job. Many consider the NFC to be wide open, but the Seahawks simply cannot contend against division rivals San Francisco or even Los Angeles without an ability to slow down the run.
